Every trip I have made this year, I have found that the Vortex queue goes down to around 5/10 mins around 3pm. This might be something to look out for.

My opinion of Thrill Chill is simply that the park is opened earlier to make more money, even though it is clearly evident that nothing is ready.

I am in the process of planning a trip to Chessington in the next few weeks. Hopefully I will be there soon.

No, I work in a sports bar. We don't actually open to the public until 9am, but my shift starts at 7am for stock checking etc.EDIT: And no, I'm not skipping work! I'm on my break with nothing better to do.

Got back from holiday about 11pm earlier, and I have to be up at 6am for work tomorrow! Grrr.

Just got back from a 3-day break in Paris. I was hoping to be visiting Disney in the last day, but we didn't go in the end. :PThe sight-seeing was fun and exciting for about a day, then it just became more of a chore. 3 days of nothing but sight-seeing was far too long. In a way I'm glad to be back, although the hotel was so nice. It was so hot in Paris, (especially today) reaching 36 degrees centigrade in the early afternoon. Also, everything was so expensive in Paris. Today, we stopped at a bar in the afternoon for drinks, and the bill was 26 Euros for 4 drinks! The cokes were 7.50 Euros each for half a pint! (Which is around £7!)Overall a good trip, but definitely glad to be back.

I can't believe that I still have ridden Vampire yet.
  9. (Sorry about the delay, was on holiday)Referring to a few posts up, reply from Outfit....Thanks for the information. If I was to get a job there, it would only be one day a week as I am still in compulsory education. Like you said, working Full Time you must see it all - the good days and the bad. I suppose just working once a week will be more of a chance to take. But I definitely think it's worth taking. I know it's unlikely that any jobs is R&A will be available this year, but I will keep checking the available positions on the recruitment website, and apply as soon as a job comes up.
  10. That's the thing with my friends, no-one apart from me ever plans trips, yet when we go everyone loves them! It's always left up to me to organise trips, otherwise we wouldn't go anywhere! Oh well, it's a good thing I don't mind organizing!
  11. I'm so jealous of you! :)I have no theme park plans for next week, although I have two Thorpe Park trips lined up in the next 4 weeks. I'm really going to try my best to get to Chessington soon also, I'll try to round a group of friends together during the summer or just after. I'm trying to persuade my parents to take me to Alton Towers again, as we haven't been since 2004. Hopefully.... :PHave a good time next week James.

I'm going on holiday to Paris tomorrow! It's only until Saturday evening, but it should be a nice getaway. Speak to you all when I get back!

I just came across this very clear POV of Tidal Wave. It's really good, and you get to see the splash from an on-ride perspective without the camera lens becoming covered by water.

Fare enough, I personally can't tell any difference between now and when I rode in 2004.

Food Outlets At ThorpeBlade or Black Buccaneer?
  18. Paul replied to Dan_Rush's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I don't think the ride itself is any different to what it used to be, it just seems more tame when comparing it to some of the higher intensity attractions rides that Thorpe have introduced since 2003.

The FlumeTidal Wave or Stormforce 10?
  20. Paul replied to Garyy's topic in The Past
Tidal Wave is all about the weather. If it's hot and sunny, it's without a doubt my favourite ride in the park.

That's a really tough one....I think I'd have to say Logger's Leap. CCR or Flying Fish?
  22. I agree, I wouldn't leave my phone on show, but I would put all of my belongings (phone, keys, money etc) in my bag, and leave my bag on the platform. In all of the years I have been going to theme parks, not once have I had any of my belongings taken, nor have I heard of it happening to anyone else. After what happened to my friend's phone on Stealth, I never take anything on to a ride with me.
  23. Paul replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
    And Rumba Rapids (Sort of).
  24. I have to disagree. No one can be sure that they have totally secured their loose belongings, and that they won't slip or fall. The best thing to do in my opinion is to leave all loose belongings in the spaces provided on the ride platforms. When my friend went on Stealth the other week, I told him to take his phone out of his jacket and put it the bag cupboard. Did he listen? No. Did his phone last the duration of the ride? No.
  25. Outfit, when you travel 2 hours to get there, do you think it's worth it? And how often do you work, if you don't mind my asking?
