Quick question: Why does the chute sometimes not have running water on it when the ride is in operation? What difference does it make to the ride when the water is running?

It's on the "Currently Unavailable" list now.

I have a question that I wonder if anyone who works at the park can answer. Or anyone else who knows! On Slammer, why do the ride team always wait until the ride has finished its cycle before preparing guests behind the loading gates? Why do they not do this during the cycle? (As surely this would save time). I understand that there is obviously a perfectly legitimate reason behind it, I just don't know what it is!
  4. I was considering it, but I'm down to work that day. Maybe next time....

    No it's not.

    Have a great day.

No, it wasn't in operation today.
  8. Had another fantastic day today. I've written some detailed trip reports over the past couple of weeks, so I will keep this one short and sweet. Good PointsThe park opened at 9.15am. I always say that the staff were friendly, but today they all seemed exceptionally friendly - especially the SAW team in the early afternoon. We found Colossus at 4pm with a less than 5 minutes queue. Queues were bearable, especially for a summer event. The ride operators were doing exactly what I like - playing games and competitions and making the queue/ride more fun, without wasting any time doing so. SAW didn't breakdown once in a 70 minute queue!Bad PointsThere was one member of staff that was a real pain in the backside. A female ride operator working on Slammer in the afternoon was very rude to guests in the queue-line and on the ride, sarcastic, and generally being just a pain. This was the only bad member of staff that I came across. Although the ride reliability wasn't half as bad as it has been in previous years, it was probably the worst today than I've seen it this year.No more bad points spring to mind. Ride count:Stealth: 2Tidal Wave: 2Nemesis Inferno: 1Detonator: 1Rush: 1Vortex: 1Quantum: 2Zodiac: 1Colossus: 1SAW: 1Samurai: 1Logger's Leap: 1Slammer: 2X :/ No Way Out: 1Rumba Rapids: 1As you can see from the ride count, we got on pretty much everything. With full ride availability, Thorpe once again provided a great day out. I know some of you might want the queue times from today, if so just PM me.

    Have a nice time.
  10. Holly, just find someone else who wants a Thorpe Park Annual Pass and go with them, then you can get one for £34.
  11. Completely agree - my idea of a nightmare.

  16. I'm going tomorrow to experience Sun Scream for the first time! I will write a trip report in the moro, although I won't make it too detailed. I'm not planning on going to the shows or anything, just going on the rides like a normal day.

Why was it closed today? Any ideas?

Tidal Wave is not only a great ride to be on, but it's also a great spectacle to watch. It definitely takes away something from the park atmosphere when Tidal Wave isn't in operation.
  19. I would definitely love to work in a theme park (Chessington or Thorpe) as a part time job while I am at school/university etc, but I wouldn't consider working in a theme park related job full time.

The closest place to the entrance you can buy fastrack is the dome. Can you get discount off of fastrack with an AP?

I have seen it open a couple of times, but you're right it does seem to be closed as awful lot.
  22. I'm in the same boat as you. Reading all of these fantastic trip reports makes me want to go even more. I can't help thinking it's such a shame I settled for a Thorpe Park Annual Pass, and didn't splash out on a Merlin Pass.Oh well, I do love Thorpe Park.

    CoastersBus or Train?
  25. As for me, I really have no idea. I have many keen interests, so the best thing for me to do for now is to pursue those interests, until one of them turns into a career. I play drums and piano, so I might possibly want a career in performance. I do a lot of acting, so that might be another option. I play a lot of tennis also, so that might open up another career for me. I am 15 years old at the moment, so I will just keep up all of my hobbies/interests, and see where they take me!
