  1. This statistic really proves that Chessington is far superior, in providing service and no disappointment in terms of Ride Availability.
  2. Anyway, this is the General Discussion topic for Chessington. Shall we move back on topic?

But remember how unreliable the TP website is, for example: The "Rides Currently Unavailable" Section is inaccurate quite a lot of the time. TP website managers probably haven't got round to changing small details like that yet.

    Thanks for those.
  5. I have do disagree with this. I have also noticed a slight decrease, not necessarily in the number of chavs, but the amount of large groups seem to have lowered.

I have never understood why on the page of Thorpe Park Ride Simulators on Thorpe Park Retreat that the Slammer Simulator is called Libra, and is themed like the Libra scales. Maybe the ride was originally going to be themed as such, but in the end it was given more of a generic theme.

It's a good concept, and I think it would be a good seller. Fastrack is generally too expensive anyway. Even if the Ultimate was £20, I still wouldn't buy it. (Unless I had an Annual Pass). Thorpe Park should take a page out of Alton's Book, and do a fastrack that allows you to ride all of the Fastrack attractions once. I think a lot more people would buy that ticket, than an unlimited one but costing £30 or so more. That's an idea for Thorpe, New Ultimate Fastrack - £20. Allows you on all of the Fastrack rides once. If I had an annual pass, I would buy that as well.

    Ok thanks.

Is it available on its own like Stealth, or is it part of Ultimate?
  10. Sorry about that :S.

Whether I want Slammer to stay or not is a tough descision. I love the ride (when it's actually open), but the reliability is unbelievably poor, and I can't help think that a more reliable flat would easily take its place. But then again, I think the general image of Slammer in Canada Creek behind Colossus is very good, and the theming, ride style etc fits in very well with the park area.
  12. I completely agree with you. I seemed to me as though there was an decrease in the heards of chavs, and an increase in the 20-30 year old age group. There also seemed to be a decrease in the numbers of girls with those glaring luminous tights. :)Also, there are still chavs around, but to be completely honest, I don't mind them at all and they really don't make a different to my day. As James said above, the number of times you see chavs acting violently in Thorpe Park (or any theme park), is very low if any, because of the tight security at the park.
  13. Sounds like a good day. But you didn't manage to get on any coasters? Can you give me an idea of what the average Q times were like?

It's exactly the same principal as the 4 green lights on each arm of Vortex.

    I'm 15, turning 16 in October.
  16. I think also, that on rides such as Stealth and SAW where the restraints are slightly more strenuous to bring down, if gives the initial sense of being more secure.
  17. I understand all this, but I see it as a possibility for me, as I already have an evening part-time job that pays around £50 a week. So if I worked at Thorpe as a Saturday job as well, deducting tax and travel costs wouldn't be too bad. Also, you only live once, and I want to try and get as many different experiences as possible. Also, working at Chessington is still an option!
  18. I've worked out, that if I wait until I can drive, and then work at Thorpe Park, I will earn roughly £35 per day. (This includes travel costs). This sounds pretty good to me, and beats the incredible cost of public transport! Do you think it's worth going for a job there at £35 per day?
  19. Can anyone who has or is currently working at Chessington perhaps give me a quick insight as to what it is like working there? I have recently looked into job vacancies at Thorpe Park, however the location of the park from my house makes working there slightly difficult. It would be far easier and more practical to work at Chessington than Thorpe. I would love to work in any UK park, to gain what can be achieved from a theme park experience. I was just wondering if there is anyone that could share there views about working there. Thanks

Ouch! Sounds horrible! I hope it gets better soon!

To be fair Tommy, this is a forum, and is designed so that people can discuss many different elements of many different things. I agree that the arguement was dragging on a bit, but people do care about what things used to be like in the past, so should be allowed to discuss such things.

I have come to notice several times recently that the "Rides Currently Unavailable" section of the Thorpe Park website can be very unreliable.
  23. Thank you for the information!

I wouldn't queue over 1 hour for anything. The coaster I would queue longest for is Stealth or Colossus, and the flat I would queue longest for is Slammer.
