If it comes back, I'll buy an annual pass next year

Never seen this video before, memories of dat queueline <3 My favourite quote though: "Going for the longest, the tallest, the fastest is most parks answer for putting in a new attraction"
  4. Yeah but... Derren Brown... cost £95 million.... 890,000 people worked on this ride... 15 different manufacturers....

I know one person who will know exactly what's going on with Loggers - Jart, where art thou?
  6. My mate got on in the end - queue advertised as 90 but he was on in 60. His thoughts, FYI: One of the photo points isn't working He very much liked the Derren preshow - to Orlando standard he said Impressed with the trains, interior and exterior and the whole grandeur of the ride Noted that there were a number of broken headsets Loved the first VR - and also really liked the live action section Thought the 2nd VR section was laughable "Very tacky early 2000s graphics" Didn't think the ride flowed well at all, and thought the fracking storyline should be more in your face as the GP are unlikely to get it Doesn't really get the Derren tie in Thinks it could be an awesome ride with more work - "good but so much more could've been done" He actually thought the "there's an emergency we need to evacuate" was real and that something had happened in the park "they were going nuts" he said - sounds like they were good actors but I can see where he's coming from, he suggested making sure they reference the gas leak/infection when they are acting
  7. A mate is at Thorpe Park today and he said DBGT is unavailable at the moment... Thorpe's twitter saying they hope to have it open after midday.
  8. Pictures look great that I've seen on Facebook - one day I'll make it up to Blackpool

I was talking about some enthusiasts "behaviour" with a non-enthusiast mate and I likened it in some cases to the behaviour of some CAMRA (real ale club) members I've witnessed when in pubs - perhaps it's the same of any hardcore "supporter" group/club - it's this bizarre sense of entitlement, thinking they know it all better than those that work there and self-worth/self-importance that they have which is frankly embarrassing and does more harm than good. Disclaimer to say, not everyone is like that - but as with many things, the small majority spoil it for everyone else!

Funnily enough, that's what happens when you massively cut the budget for a project
  11. Standby for Vicky / Leah / Joe appearing on Sky News/This Morning.... Interesting conversation here citing a "tyre cover" of some sort falling off.

A friend of mine went to Thorpe Park yesterday for the first time in years, met him on the Friday before for a catch up. "I love the log flume" he said. I had to disappoint him. "Oh. Is that SAW Alive maze open? My other half will love that" Ummm.... "Oh. He's looking forward to trying out Derren Brown's Ghost Train though" Errr.... I did point out that on the plus side, Stealth had just reopened so it could've been worse I think the last time he went, he had a rollback on Stealth so shows how long ago it must've been!
  13. Asylum was always the hardest to lead the group in - shame it's no longer with us!
  14. Good stuff I'm surprised a ThorpeLovingCare Twitter hasn't surfaced yet - it might have to if they don't sort DBGT soon
  15. Have they reinstated the hilarious "Ghost Train Shop Now Open" sign to soften the blow of the ride being closed?

Why does it matter if it doesn't fit in with Transylvania - doesn't normally stop Merlin
  17. I don't think it has done a full day has it, as in, open when the park opens?
  18. Cheers, and to think I was at work at the time when I came up with it too.
  19. That shipping container is going to be used for a special Halloween themed ice cream outlet: Frightrogenie.
  20. Hence the wink The website mentions about if you've booked for the week of "17th-21st August" - and then about taking it out of action "this week" - assume by that they aimed to have it open for Monday 22nd but that hasn't happened.
  21. It's not that, it's just maintenance
  22. Blimey that is a first suggesting a reopening date! Always dangerous though mentioning dates...
  23. The official line will be that they won't update - they never do, the ride will just re-open!
  24. Yes would have no hesitation in paying out for Brave It Alone again - well worth the money. And I normally hate add-on pay attractions Similarly, I'm a fan of Containment too!
  25. I think Big Top got a lot of unnecessary flak - I quite enjoyed it last year - the Brave It Alone was certainly worth the extra money!
