  1. I can imagine someone kicking off about that would some what ruin the magic of the experience and shatter the illusion just a tad.

    Anti-Rant

Thought this was the best place to put this - my girlfriend has published a book on Kindle/Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reasons-Love-Nerd-Like-Me-ebook/dp/B015VL47M4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443781452&sr=8-1&keywords=reasons+to+love+a+nerd+like+me She's had 2.4 million "reads" on Wattpad so decided to take the plunge and put it out there as a paid for book too and see how it goes.... https://www.wattpad.com/story/13980497-reasons-to-love-a-nerd-like-me I know Wattpad is free but she's kinda hoping that people will pay a couple of quid to "own" the book as it's easier to read on Kindle than on Wattpad online etc! Would be interested of anyone's thoughts - it's likely to be of interest to the main demographic on here - possibly
  3. No idea - just saw it on the TowersStreet FB. I guess it could be that reason - or could be more cost-cutting...
  4. I reckon I can probably come to this Quick edit to this post to avoid a double post... was just saying to Peaj, I haven't even seen Angry Birds land "IRL" yet I haven't been to Thorpe in so long, what a disgrace to the community I am
  5. Nemesis Sub-Terra confirmed as remaining closed for the rest of the 2015 season...
  6. Yes that's what I was thinking too - so you can't just reset from the control room.
  7. These photos of the original Amity Cove make me feel a little sad
  8. Just spotted that Mind Gap is now referred to as Mind The Gap at the top in "Your Progress"... I did say a train carriage all along, just sayin... PS. Is Jart going to any meets soon?
  9. They say this now... that's before the inevitable cost-cutting and budget-restraints when/if it comes to fruition.
  10. I think that applies to most of the attractions at Chessie, no?
  11. On the website - Mind Gap... that's an odd turn of phrase, sounds like a play on words of "Mind The Gap" to me. Expect a train carriage I say
  12. Would be very pleasantly surprised if it does reopen for the season - but the fact they are actually working on installing barriers etc. obviously shows that they are going to re-open it... at some point.
  13. Oh well, another one bites the dust...
  14. Not if they are filling every other boat I guess! Kobra now has a 2 hour 20 minute queue. #winning
  15. Fun times again today - Fury & Peking Unavailable, Skyway, Rattlesnake and Tomb still down. Black Bucanneer: 50 Bubbleworks: 90 Falls: 60 Jumbos: 30 Jungle Bus: 30 Kobra: 60 Monkey Swinger: 30 Treetop Hoppers: 50 Scorpion: 45 Seastorm: 55 Tiny Truckers: 55 Toadies: 40 Vampire: 80 Zufari: 25 Assume the grass car park really is as bad as people are making out? Seems crazy parking on that considering how waterlogged the ground must be! EDIT: Fury reopens, boom 90 minute queue. Bubbleworks & Vampire now 120 minutes. Lovely.
  16. Thorpe I mean Jart has been awfully quiet since popping in to share the Minds Wanted website
  17. Indeed. Done on purpose do you think or just one of those things? Chessington's Tripadvisor makes for entertaining reading by the way. It's not just "enthusiasts" that can see what has happened to the park.
  18. This. As I was saying elsewhere - I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I was completely blown away just standing around in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Similarly - the Simpons Land area's attention to detail was just as impressive at Universal... and at Epcot too, to be fair!
  19. Double post to say Chessie have changed their ride availability page so the closed rides just appear in the "Normal operation" section now
  20. This. I had the exact same problem when I went in May last year - I did eventually get on though luckily as I love Ramases I haven't been to any Merlin parks this year (yet)
  21. Same - we visited in April this year - bit of a mission getting to Universal when staying in Disney without a hire car I'm not a Potter fan at all, but I was blown away by both Potter Lands - felt such a noob not working out you had to go behind the tube station entrance to get to one bit, d'oh! Theming of all things Harry Potter is just off the scale and you'd be forgiven for thinking that was a bona-fide street in London and/or Leicester Square station. Agree Hulk queue is dated.... as to Dr. Doom, I was fearing a Detty style drop but nothing of the sort, in fact it did anything but fill me with "doom" and was rather pleasant It's old but we both really enjoyed Disaster! - can't see why that stays in place of Twister but there you go.
  22. 7 Rides currently down - the usual 3 plus Peeking Heights, Canopy Capers (!), Black Buccaneer and AMAZU Tree Top Adventure - but perhaps the weather isn't helping today, granted. Park sounds busy though: Bubbleworks 75, Dragon's Fury 60, Vampire 45 Just looked at Alton's times - everything 0 minutes, except Sonic at 5 and Mr Bloom at 20? Wow.
