    Your Thorpe Park

A-Kid, god knows how I didn't notice that before now but what a stunner! We need this to happen Any chance you could pack it up into a NL Pack file and post it? I'd love to have a proper look around it!Edit: Just found it on CC. Amazing job, seriously! I would just stick myself to this thing all day if we had it! 2015 anyone?
  2. Manta - Sea World OrlandoManta is absolutely lush. It's a fantastic layout and smooth as glass, and it helps that B&M's Flyer is probably my favourite model by my favourite manufacturer. Not only that, the surrounding rocks, waterfalls, pools and aquariums give the ride a stunningly beautiful setting to run through. True 5-star ride.Jurassic Park River Adventure - Islands Of Adventure, Universal Orlando ResortJPRA is another great all-rounder. The opening 'tour' portion is exceptional, with lush vegetation, brilliant dinosaur animatronics and mist and smell cannons as well! The added element of thrill at the end is great too, and I like the sudden change of themeing to the more industrial 'backstage' look.Pirates of the Caribbean - Magic Kingdom, WDWDo I really need to explain this one? Absolutely stunning atmosphere, fantastic fun ride. Perfect in every way.Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain - Disney's Animal Kingdom, WDWWonderful coaster, combined with 5-star storytelling and themeing. Every inch of the queue is detailed, thought-out and aged to perfection. Beautiful art litters every surface. Weathered signs and posters cover the walls, and random little trinkets hang from ceilings and sit atop the shelves. Combine that with a thrilling coaster, and Disney have another winner. We won't mention the Yeti, eh?Amazing Adventures of Spiderman - Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando ResortI love Spidy! Everyone called it the world's best dark ride before Forbidden Journey opened, and rightly so! It's a brilliant adventure from the moment you step into the building, combining a great story told through the news reports on TV with an amazing ride full of thrills, brilliant 3D film and fantastic real props and effects like the fire jets and thick green smoke.I could add a whole other list for shows, restaurants ect, but maybe I'll save it for later
  3. B&M never give away anything new at IAAPA unfortunately The flyer at World Joyland does look stunning! The 540 degree Zero-G and fly-to-lie combi element looks amazing, and I believe thats the first double flat spin on any B&M anywhere! B&M are firmly re-asserting themselves at the top of the pile this year, good to see them back on top form!

    Post Your Desktop!

Got a lotta love for Gwen, gotta say!
  5. Cheers for posting the overview Benin, I saw a picture of the 3rd inversion yesterday from ground level but couldn't picture where it'd fit into the rest of the layout. Unfortunately it loses one point for having trims Still, Air has trims which do absolutely nothing to the ride, so hopefully these will be the same. Also, at least they're after the airtime hill. So, the only thing remaining is to see what fills in between the lift and Zero G... I'm wondering if we'll see a plain curving drop from lift to roll, or maybe something else... Straight drop into horseshoe turn please

The only good 4Chan has ever done is spreading the hate on the cat-binning woman

    Random

I found the poppy burning deeply offensive. In my opinion it's completely disgusting and absolutely inexcusable to show such a huge lack of respect to people who deserve the greatest deal of respect out of anyone really. I'm afraid I'm with Benin on this one; as far as I'm concerned they can expect to get as good as they give in the racism department if stuff like this happens. You may have noticed, this REALLY wound me up. Rant over.
  8. Yeah it is Knight Valley... Before seeing this I'd never been jealous of the Chinese - now I am! It looks like an absolute beast of a coaster Also, where be teh kicker on the Asterix Invert!?
  9. That's correct, and the reason they are used on B&M's Hyper coasters is to do with block detection; they are there to assist ride ops in timing train dispatch.
  10. Not to mention Formula Rossa which is trimmed to high hell! That first hill looks to give no airtime at all, which is such a waste!
  11. Even Intamin themselves have been quoted as saying they possibly pushed the envelope a little far with this coaster... But if it weren't for the grey outs, it is apparently a truly amazing ride. The first drop when it opened did look insane, 305' and 93 mph - and it's been suggested that if the reprofile goes well the trims might be removed, reinstating that first drop which has been called the best of any steel coaster in the world by many people. What I'd have given to go on it when it first opened though, in all it's full on intensity...
  12. In a rather drastic move, King's Dominion appear to be re-profiling part of Intimidator 305's track layout. This is presumably to reduce the enormous positive G force around the first flat turn and into the first air hill, which caused so many grey outs and complaints from the GP. Track is currently in the process of being removed, as shown in this photo from yesterday:Credit to Clint Novak for the photo.
  13. They have a little measuring thing, I've seen a picture of it on the track as it's been going up... Although I rather imagine it was measured and designed to fit before it was built anyway The only thing I wonder about, is the reach envelope of riders, it looks awfully tight...Edit:Picture 13 in this updateAlso, this confirms (along with the close up pictures of the lift hill catwalks) that the seats are set well below normal height above the rails.
  14. I'd agree with most of that! Just to back up Dan's points on it not being themed, this really disappointed me too. After seeing how his previous attractions were split up into individual scenes - with loads of detailing to tell the story, cleverly lit set pieces ect - the whole 'lets just put some fences in a room and flash strobe lights in otherwise pitch darkness' didn't really impress me.
  15. ^ You can almost get an idea of that just from the last picture posted above - the catwalks are very wide and set well below rail level, very exciting

  20. Well two of the straight sections are launches and so kinda unavoidable... Also, the fact they changed the name just because the original one was leaked is annoying me
  21. Gotta agree, yesterday was fantastic Far better than the last meet which I came to in March, loved every minute really! Again, hats off to Ian for super organisation and leadership, well done! And yes Chris!!
  22. Having just eaten a load of pizza the thought of any dinner repulses me somewhat at the moment! I'm sure I'll manage though Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
