Sunday 8th March: Had a great day today, queues were mostly short and we got on nearly everything that was open! RIDECOUNT: Nemesis Inferno x5 Stealth x5 The Swarm x3 Colossus x1 X x1 Loggers Leap x1 Detonator x1 Vortex x1 Zodiac x1 Storm Surge x1 Flying Fish x1 TOTAL: 21 There were some breakdowns such as Nemesis Inferno and The Swarm but they were dealt with fairly efficiently, and in both cases the rides were only down for 30 minutes at the most. Highlights: - Short queues, apart from Colossus (although we avoided this by going there first), X (again we avoided this) and Storm Surge. - Some areas of the park have had some TLC - Inferno, Swarm and Stealth were all running well! - Mist working on Inferno! Lowlights: - Saw closed despite the fact that it was supposed to be open, and too many of the other rides closed in general. - One train operation on Colossus and two on X. - Some areas of the park still look very tired and in need of some attention. - Swarm's effects not working
-
I am impressed with some of the touch ups that have happened around the park, such as Depth Charge, Stealth's signage, the new Pizza Pasta and various other things, however a lot of areas still look very tired! Also, the fire was still the only effect working on The Swarm, which is disappointing. We left the park at four and asked the man on the way out what time it closed and he told us 4, so not very impressed about that as I could have got more rides in! Poor communication there.

There were lots of VIP pass holders today queue jumping despite the fact that rides were walk on. It's just wrong, the Storm Surge main queue was virtually at a standstill because they were just letting the VIP people go back on again and again!

For some reason the fright night audio is playing in the BBQ - not entirely sure why!

Its open today! Saw isn't yet though

Brilliant to hear that things have been spruced up, look forward to seeing this tomorrow!
-
So what time did the park actually close for passholders? (Not VIP).
-
What's the point in getting everyone's hopes up, if the tunnel isn't back then why say it is?

The insulting reward to all our commitment - RCT4
Coaster replied to pognoi's topic in RCT/No limits/Minecraft etc
It looks terrible! I was hoping for it to be like RCT3 but more realistic, this looks more cartoony and less real than RCT3! -
What happened to make the queue to get in that big? Did they sell too many tickets? Looks pretty bad to be honest, I'm supposed to be going tomorrow but that queue to get in is unacceptable.
-
Looks pretty bad as you can still see the old writing behind it. It's good that they are improving things but it's frustrating as it could have looked really good rather than 'passable.'
-
What a joke! They have known for months when rides are supposed to be open, with the throughputs there I hate to think how busy the other rides are going to be with the two main coasters and a very popular dark ride closed. Really, really poor show from Chessington here.

Oops I read that wrong, I meant closing the queue early so that they can start the VIP thing straight after the park closes but that's not the case
-
I won't be impressed if they do this, they should work around guests already on the park for additional VIP activities.

I remember the first Summer Nights I went to being busier than I would have hoped for, with two train operation it would have been fine. The thing is, previous annual pass days haven't needed to rely on the park being quiet to be good because they were pretty much a full park offering, what I'm getting at is that unless it's going to be quiet, the mindset of people there is probably going to be "what's the point when I could just come next week with the whole park open?"
-
"Sit back, it's fright time" has always been the slogan for Nemesis! You can hear it at the end of the original 1994 advert:
-
Hopefully they have limited tickets based on the number of rides unavailable. I think that the only way this would actually be a "bonus" for annual passholders (as that's what it's supposed to be) was if there were really short queues, as otherwise it's just a day at the park with lots of rides closed.

It's very unlikely and I hope they don't, after the way the backwards rows on The Swarm have messed up the queue-line and ruined the back row experience of the ride I hope they know better!

Why can't the UK get rides like this?! Imagine something on that scale meandering around Thorpe!

I don't understand how they don't even know what to tell guests! Surely they should all be saying the same thing? Its laughable that they cant even tell people the same thing, they really don't have a clue - if they don't know if something will be ready or not then they should just say that, but they really shouldn't be telling people different things.
