  1. Talk about cramming them in to get as much money as possible!
  2. Most of Thorpe's problems are not to do with the throughput that the ride can achieve, but more-so the throughput they do achieve due to one train operation/inefficient two train operation, as well as the mass Fastrack overselling which severely slows down the main queue. It's the same old arguments I know, but the fact is that if they run coasters on minimum capacity then throughputs aren't going to be good.
  3. Why not just shift normal queues as much as possible so RNR isn't needed?
  4. This is an absolute joke! Are they seriously doing this with a straight face, or are they trying to take the biscuit?
  5. It's quite shocking to be honest that they allowed the fence to get into such a state, but making the entire queue feel like a prison was not the right solution. Maybe it was necessary for a short term measure at the time, but they really need to sort it out properly now.
  6. Ah good, The Stinger was one of my childhood coasters so I would be sad to see it go. Good to hear that they are investing in another coaster, shame it's not wooden though!
  7. Really? I thought they were just repainting The Stinger. And would that mean removal of The Stinger?
  8. ^ Running one train on Stealth makes more difference than you would think, judging from my experience anyway. On the subject of coasters being open, I'd be surprised if X wasn't open as well considering that its inside, and Flying Fish because they closed it early in Oct.
  9. I don't see why they should be just running one train, I would have thought it perfectly manageable to have both ready.
  10. They have got time between February half term and March to do any additional maintenance that is needed after the Feb half term opening.
  11. I get the exact same issue with the game crashing, it's infuriating!
  12. I like Hex's preshow when I haven't been on it for ages, but I think I would go on it more if it didn't have it. The Haunting at Drayton does have some interesting effects\illusions, bur "Doctor X" is comical!
  13. It would be good if they could just paint the supports on the first drop and overbank turn, seeing as they are the first impression of the park if you use that entrance. I expect that it's just track replacement, which is perfectly normal on coasters - the Facebook post did make me laugh
  14. So? Most parks have more than one dark ride, that's just like saying why do they have more than one coaster! Great news that the plans have been approved!

  16. I'll be visiting, but only because I have a premium pass.
  17. Yes but it could be argued that they only get less busy because it's the final hour. People often leave parks early to avoid traffic etc, so if they were open later then the same would apply (hence why some people leave at 9pm on Fright Nights).
  18. I've never had an issue with it being busy there - the queues still move and the atmosphere is good, unlike Thorpe who tend to like running coasters on one train regardless of how busy the park is nowadays. I think the fact that people stay there until the park closes proves this point. BPB isn't perfect, far from it but I find it much easier to enjoy a busy day there than Thorpe.
  19. Or a park that's enjoyable enough to be worth staying in when busy. People probably get fed up of it being so busy and then leave.
  20. When it's open until 7pm people seem to stay.
  21. Well I can't comment on Phantastialand as I haven't been there, but considering how busy Thorpe gets in the summer it could be open a lot later (and I don't mean Summer Nights).

  23. Yes, and they still manage to provide better opening times than Thorpe.
  24. Adventure Island is open until gone 10pm int he holidays, and BPB is open until 8pm every day in the summer with a few 10pm closes as well as later closes across the year than Thorpe in general. Whilst AI are a small park, BPB have high running costs so are a good comparison, even if their location lends itself to later closes.
