  1. The mazes depend on what scares you. Experiment 10 is definatley the scariest, if you are claustrophobic give it a miss! The other mazes are jumpy but not too scary, my favourite is Asylum. Hope this helps (Also when I went last year all queues were exactly the same as normal. (As in no one scaring you))
  2. You can see in one of the pictures that the container simply hasn't been moved to it's final location yet. And as a heads up to everyone, I went to Thorpe yesterday and construction for Fright nights is progressing rapidly now
  3. A very poor lineup for Hocus pocus 2012 plus the fact that the park shuts at 7 means that my last visit to Chessington this year will probably be this weekend. I enjoyed Hocus pocus last year but it's just not worth bothering really if they are going to be this stingy! And why not bring back Krypt? That was good!
  4. Vortex looks so much nicer without the tall plants!
  5. Oh right, I have been in Asylum many times but I couldn't remember which way you went - I just remembered it being right but I must be wrong.
  6. Looks interesting. Something I am wondering though: I'm sure the entrance to the first corridor in Asylum has been boarded up? Didn't you used to go in and turn right at the sign which took you down a long corridor into the main room? Whereas now it looks like you turn left instead. Has anyone else noticed this or am I incorrect?
  7. Fright nights 2011 was, in my opinion the best Fright nights the park has ever done. For reasons you have stated above I don't think this years event will be as good as last years one but I am still going to go as many times as I can!

    SAW: Alive

Now that Fright nights is almost here: Thorpe park promised us that they would be improving Saw alive for Fright nights at the time that they closed it. What do people think/hope will happen to it that improves it?
  9. The audio is a shame because when Saw first opened it was great to hear suitably creepy music with a voice often coming through the speaker warning people of what was going on inside. Now it is dull to be honest.
  10. The trouble I find with Saw is that while some trains take the ride quite smoothly, others jolt you around very uncomfortably.
  11. Hopefully they will get a new topscan - Samurai certainly is a good ride although it was more than a bit tired. (Unless they refurbish it again - but usually when they do that it doesn't last long.)
  12. Went today. RIDECOUNT: The Swarm x5 Colossus x1 Saw: The ride x1 Stealth x2 X:/No way out x2 Loggers leap x1 Park was fairly busy throughout the day, though not absoloutley packed. NOTES: - The fire didn't launch once for The Swarm today. (When I was in the area or around it.) - Saw: The ride's queue is awful at the moment, none of the sound effects are playing outside and some of the "traps" are getting hidden behind overgrown plants. - Stealth's queue was moving very quickly and efficiently today, well done - Colossus's queue on the other hand was not moving quickly. For most of the day one of the trains was always being sent round empty. Why not just take it off the track if it can't have people in it? - Samurai won't be re-opening until 2013 according to a sign outside the ride. (It has been completley taken apart at the moment.) For Fright nights construction information, view my post on the Fright nights page.
  13. I went to Thorpe park today. - The curse was up and they were working on the interior of the maze. - Asylum had a few people going in and out of it (staff) - Didn't get much of a look at Hellgate's site. - No construction had started in the arena yet for Experiment 10.
  14. I am not surprised to be honest, the last few times I went on it it was running at almost half it's usual speed, we barley flipped at all and when we did it was slow and forceless. Let's hope Samurai makes a full recovery for Fright nights, it is amazing in the dark! (As long as it is running fully.)
  15. I find the curse alright when it is being used to it's full potential, which it wasn't last year. Also, Asylum had a few changes last year which added some "scenes" that made the maze more interesting. As for a seperatley ticked event, it would not work in my opinion and I wouldn't like to see it. I must just be lucky but when I go the queues tend to be short - except for in 2009 when I queued 2 hours for se7en!
  16. The ending was either just another actor jumping out or nothing - it wasn't "bad" as such but it could be improved to have people running out of it like Asylum. I would highly reccomend EX10, it is one of the best mazes.
  17. I would imagine that it will use Hellgate's old site. If it was in a tent/container then construction would have started by now, and I can't see where else it would go tbh. As for the new twist on Experiment 10, my only guess is that they have got a better ending?
  18. Do you know, I wouldn't mind the £3 charge but two things annoy me. 1. Having to pre book??? Sorry but this is very inconvenient as I won't know what time I want to go in until I am there tbh, 2. It mentions paying £3 for "early bird" tickets, meaning that others will be more. On the bright side though, the maze looks fantastic!
  19. Yes, they are both crosses. (Sorry but what? You see them everywhere, why pick out one paticular cross on a poster???)
  20. Oh ok then fair enough. I assumed that it was a long term sponsorship (Like Yorkie was/is for Stealth, although that suited it imo.)
  21. Yay, ruining the theming of each ride at the park!
  22. This is completley ridiculous. How is any atmosphere going to be built up with advertisments?
  23. Am I the only one imagining people being shut in coffins?
  24. POSTED FROM THORPE PARK OFFICIAL FACEBOOK: Fright Nights Fever? Clue number 1. If you 'HATED' the mazes last year, then this will have you turning in your grave...
  25. That would just be Asylum with a different name.
