I thought the corridor was too dark last week - it needs to be light enough to actually see the chainsaw rather than just a shadow.

There are a few things that could have been done with Cabin, but it does a job. However, their attempt at theming with The Big Top is poor to say the least, when you consider that they have produced such high quality mazes in the past, black curtains with posters in places really doesn't cut it. If Dreamland host Screamland again next year then I will definitely pencil in a visit, the Scenic looks great and the with the addition of the scare mazes it seems like a good time to visit.

Saw Alive has good theming in places, but a lot of Cabin is just whitewash walls with red blood (especially in the second section) and My Bloody Valentine has had a lot of the small details of theming taken away this year (such as the shovel with blood, miner clothing with gas masks hanging up and mine effect inside the first pre-speech room), as well as the best themed set (IMO) removed completely. The forest scene and a few other small sections are the only well themed parts of MBV in my opinion.

Why they haven't just replaced the model with a new Top Scan is beyond me.

Some photos from inside the Screamland horror mazes: http://airgates.co.uk/reviews/dreamland-margate-screamland-press-preview/ I know you can't judge things from photos, but wow! Thorpe could really learn from them for how to theme a maze interior, when you look at the standard of those compared to this: http://www.scruffydogltd.com/news/thorpe-park-fright-nights-the-big-top/

Probably, but it's best to contact the park as I'm not entirely sure.
-
It looks like they have moved everything around slightly, and the Slippery Serpent car is very random - it's surprising that they still have those cars! Hopefully they have done some work on the interior as well.

The Freezer returns!

What has changed about it?

The most frustrating thing about this for me is that four years ago Thorpe produced Experiment 10, which was without question one of the most extreme horror mazes in the UK. Fast forward to 2015 and you have black curtains and a theme which has been done hundreds of thousands of times already (unlike E10 which had a unique theme). It is a crying shame that Thorpe removed The Asylum - whilst some people on here didn't rate it, it was a solid maze and easily the most popular amongst the public reaction-wise, as well as being a good queue shifter in comparison to the current mazes (although they do seem better at batching them this year). As for Scarefest, I did enjoy TOTT a few years ago and The Sanctuary was good, but a blindfolded maze doesn't really appeal to me as there is nothing to see.

It seems very bizarre to just tear down a ride and replace most of the track at once, was there a big issue with the track/trains?
-
I was told last Sunday that they are hoping to have Samurai open in time for this weekend.
-
Shame, if it really is going then I would have really liked to have several final rides on it. I won't be impressed if they just remove it without any forewarning, rides should always be given a good sendoff IMO.
-
Yeah they probably did, but it didn't look like you could choose when booking it either so it wasn't very clear.
-
I still think the non-smoke cigarettes (or whatever they're called) in queues are wrong, it sends the wrong message to people (especially smokers who then think it's okay for them to smoke). As for people smoking real cigarettes in queues, it's just gross and very selfish, but sadly it seems to happen a lot at Thorpe.
-
Oh. I didn't book mine in the end for the Sunday just gone because I was told on Thorpe's Facebook page (by them) that they would decide for you.

Inferno was insane yesterday at nearly 10pm, I have never had such an intense ride on it, brilliant! In the morning I don't really rate it highly, but it was very nearly on par with Nemesis at AT in terms of intensity yesterday evening.

Just thought I would share this, I've found the dispatch music used this year. (The recognisable bit starts around 1 minute into the track). https://youtu.be/cMGq6dm6Lws?list=PLmwj9pWSJQnI2UlUaCWPxFAqqCnXztw5h

Yeah, two years ago on a Fright Nights Sunday I saw a woman get mugged, a fight, smokers in most queues and people jumping over the temporary fences ignoring the staff who were telling them not to.
-
The cycle was ridiculously short at around 9:15pm today, there were only about four full swings.
-
Only the area around Bush BBQ is themed (apart from the mazes), the rest is unthemed. And who are they? I like to be positive but not much about the mazes this year leaves me buzzing with excitement, the acting is poor, lots of effects are broken, the actor costumes are all the same and The Big Top still feels half-done. Cabin and Saw Alive are the best mazes this year IMO.
-
E-stops have still been a problem today. Two on MBV, one on Saw Alive and The Big Top has just had one. Agreed imindetonator, Fright Nights has really gone downhill this year overall IMO, the actors in particular seem much worse than in previous years - most today have just run past us in mazes and they aren't dressing up as the characters, most just have blood and white face paint on.

^ It wasn't moving at first, however it did pick up after five minutes or so.

Fastrack queue for Blair Witch is overflowing, we have been speaking to some people who are in it and they are disgusted. The main queue I full and overflowing back to the hotdog hut and we haven't moved at all (yet at least five Fastrack groups have gone through). Very poor show.
