I hadn't even noticed that one, it's going to annoy me every time now. DAMN YOU BENIN.
  2. From that FB link... If that's not an official Red Arrows tie-in I'm sure they'd be in trouble with the RAF with that image. If this turns out to be a red arrows themed Air Race I think it'll be a great addition, especially it it comes with coloured smoke machines!
  3. It really doesn't need to show more frequently than it has to for everyone who wants to see it in the day though , does it? These things are always better in a busy theater with a bit of atmosphere too, so this should help with that too.

My first thought when I saw those pics was more likely to be refurbishment of the arena, rather than replacement. That would be in line with what I'm mostly expecting for next year; improvements and expansion to the entertainment offering to support the resort status, hotel guest satisfaction and family offering all at once. That would explain the lack of planning submission too, it wouldn't be required for referb work.

I don't want to be unduly negative, but the way they have allowed fastrack to descend into chaos frequently for many many years at huge detriment to most visitors rather undermines that thought! I do think that fright nights is when R&R could come into its own though, it should really work well with mazes if they can get the system bugs out.

Don't you have to register the entry ticket for each person, and you're only able register each ticket on one device? If so you can't cheat it that way, if not... oh dear!

Aaaand back to reality. So... (TPM FB) In prep for something new for next year? Arena make over? Arena going? Hmmm
  8. As awesome as Chipichips looks, Id really rather they didn't continue the destruction. Fix up falls to a decent standard and add a nice interacting coaster. Oh, and burn Peeking. Removing that couldn't be seen as destruction.

In my experience it's very much a restraint problem, makes it close to unbearable for me. I'm well aware that's because I'm a little chunky, and it's got steadily worse the bigger I've got.

Long, very un-fury-y, re ride chat moved to its own topic. Do continue...

I had my fourth birthday just last week too!
  12. You'd never guess what my genuine favorite cereal ever is?! They used to sell it here when I were a lad you know, that's one of the main reasons I'm fat now! Rather than pro TPM merch, how about anti TPR stuff. I'm sure it'd sell better... Don't get upset TPRers, it's only a joke!

Haha! But quite harsh - you do know that's my actual face, right?!
  14. Absolutely, yes. The park can enforce any rule it fancies. Doesn't stop a stupid rule from being stupid though.
  15. pluk replied to OldFarmerDean's topic in The Past
I think we can move that well into the definite by now!

http://forum.maniahub.com/topic/10668-return-of-reserve-n-ride/?fromsearch=1 R&R is virtual queuing vua a smart phone, timed allocation for return to ride (or enter maze), sometimes run alongside a standby queue, sometimes with no standby queue. Most people on some level think it's a good idea, but what they are trying to do with it is wrong. I wouldn't say it's universally hated though. Wort a read...
  17. The world needs to stop pandering to idiots. Anywho, Dragon Fury eh...
  18. C'mon, these are fun rides with pops of forces that aren't even extreme compared to what the body can comfortably tolerate, we're not discussing repeated space shuttle launches. If people come even close to a medical episode after riding a coaster they must have a pretty serious underlying health problem and are pretty screwed anyway, might as well go with a smile strapped into a B&M. Seriously, it's this kind of stupid stipulation in the name of health and safety that devalues worthwhile restrictions.

It's not as clear cut as that. I would struggle to believe they were supplied things like the seatbelts and told they were essential for safe use and then didn't fit them, they must have been supplied as optional optional? We won't really know until it gets to court, but some ambiguity somewhere must have made this accident possible. I wonder if it could come down to a mis translation from German to English?
  20. I think they'd be better off replacing it with an actual physical ride rather than the illusion of one created by pixels. If this pretend ride is modled on a Huss Condor, they are DULL. No one that's ever riden one would want that there, I'm quite sure.

http://www.star-telegram.com/2014/10/10/6191584/german-executive-says-blame-rests.html The blame game rumbles on in the 6flags death case. It's hard to tell where the truth lies, but it seems no one is going to take any real responsibility, which is a shame. The fact 6flags didn't use all the bits Gurst gave them doesn't show them in the best light, but we don't know what recommendations were given by Gurst in the first place so it's just impossible to know who's in the wrong. I imagine this won't be fully resolved for years.
  22. Ah yes, but how would you know, or know that those around you are in a fit state to ride in the first place? I prefer people to be given a bit of personal responsibility. Most people aren't stupid enough not to know where their limits are. Anyway, re rides on Nemesis are easy to get, and thats the only ride that matters. I do it all the time, you just have to alternate between the front and back restraint checker.
  23. Am I being dense by not knowing what that is?

Bus drivers are = to cyclists Both a pain in the arse.
