  1. How would you make a Hunger Games ride though? And more importantly how would you make it re-ridable?
  2. Thanks for a fun trip chaps and chapesses. Sorry I had to dissappear early.
  3. I have to admit, I realy don't understand Madam Tousauds. But I do understand beer!
  4. OK I am officially attending too. I'll be attending by train so may be late if there are leaves on the track. (Thanks Fred for pointing it out the option).
  5. The Woosher is a water thingy that goes Woooosh when turned on. Used in this show as a screen. I agree Pluk, it is a bit small compared to the whole area, but it is quite huge when closer. Re. Ithotmk: the whole of the pier gynt suite seems to fit well with fireworks.
  6. Sorry I meant the video quality not the show quality. The show is by far the best I've seen in the UK.
  7. Full show, not brilliant quality but ok. Couple of pics taken around the park but not uploaded to the live stream.

Oh cool, You should have said Hi. Yur it was not bad, a tad cold, but the food was good and the wedding was fun. There were some aspects that, if I were directing it, would be totally changed. It felt like they were using specific themes, just to re-use props. The altonville Motel for example. Why not use what the building actually was, The Garden Tea Room. Having a wedding in the Gardens Tea Room makes perfect sense to me, having a motel that doesnt look like a motel doesn't. Also the ending was a bit meh. It felt rushed and no one really knew what to do. It didnt have an end really. What they should have done was..... Groom - Thanks for attending our wedding, we have been asked to clear the venue so if you would like to follow me I will escourt you all out. <group dismount from seating and follow the groom towards the path. to see lots of scare crows lining the path back.> Bride - Ohh before you go, <- insert current bride closing speach here <group chased out>
  9. @James39 - tips. 1) dont expect many rides. Saturday will be rammed. 2) the two best places are at the front to the left of the middle and at the lower edge of the bottom Towers Street Mound. 3) No ert, gates open at 9:45 (BTW come say Hi if you see me I am there every day. Friday evening - doing a live broadcast of the fireworks. Saturday with friends, Sunday with the Nerds) Some photos from this years preparations. No towers this year. but we do have one of these in the lake. It is called a 'Woosher'. Look, See it woosh. See it Woosh from a distance (roughly the distance from my pint of beer) See it woosh at night! Something to tempt you more into coming. Look how pretty Blivvy is at sunset!

A couple of scarefest pics for those wondering what riding in the dark is like. All taken last night.
  12. I am tempted by this meet, But wouldnt be able to make the 13th. But I have a quandrie. If I were to attend I would have to drive to somewhere, where I could leave my car cheeply, to then get the tube/train to meet everyone. last train back to stoke leaves london at 18:45 so is, I think, a bit early to join in winter wonderland. So any ideas people?

I am told that a rule of thumb is, you have the length of the first queue + the time taken to wlk through the maze + 15 mins to get to the second maze.
  14. OK my turn for some photos Not Photoshopped. Photoshopped a bit
  15. Can I just point out that Ice blast got stuck (according to google) just after that top picture that Mer placed, giving us this never ending ride of bounciness.
  16. Excellent seeing yall at Pleasure Beach yesterday. Some photos for those who haven't seen them. https://plus.google.com/photos/106418309379254557984/albums/6058832135846783617?authkey=CLzZttGXndDL4gE
  17. Ever wondered just what an average day at Towers looks like, plotted on a map? No nor me, well not till yesterday when a friend of mine GPS tracked the day. This was a quite chilled day, so not rushing to do rides. http://gps.motionx.com/maps/89f3c79025329ce73009e25e715e7032 Date: 30 Aug 2014 10:33 am Distance: 7.06 miles Elapsed Time: 7:27:41 Avg Speed: 0.9 mph Max Speed: 30.9 mph Avg Pace: 63' 23" per mile Min Altitude: 508 ft Max Altitude: 633 ft Start Time: 2014-08-30T09:33:47Z Start Location: Latitude: 52º 59' 19" N Longitude: 1º 53' 19" W End Location: Latitude: 52º 59' 30" N Longitude: 1º 53' 32" W
  18. I've not done one of these for a while and it is possibly not the correct topic, but there was some construction over the weekend. Over on the far side of the lake there is something happening.. The contents of this on Saturday look like: By Sunday they looked like :
  19. SCB is telling the truith. It was JW weaving the magic for us. Luckely we got better.
  20. It seems that the fat heads of Thorpe have returned. BTW It was excellent to have you huys up in my neck of the woods again. Glad you all had fun. Blackpool will be a god trip.
  21. Hi ThorpeAddict. What browser/OS are you using when you get that error? It looks like chrome and windows but could be one of the linux variants.
  22. Open offer. If anyone needs a lift from Stoke Station give me a shout.
  23. Just for your information guys (and guy-esses). Last year, when you came up to my kneck of the woods, I dragged you to the Titanic Brewery pub (The White Star) for dinner. Unfortunately in the past month they have had a new menu and the food quality and value has gone significantly down hill. So if you want an evening meal can I suggest The Cherry Tree (http://www.hungryhorse.co.uk/pubs/cherry-tree-newcastle) which is a Hungry Horse pub at the end of the high street in Newcastle Under Lyme. The food there is reasonable quality and reasonable value for money and they have no problem with anyone who doesnt want to prove that they are over 18 and it also means that none of you guys have to drive so can all have a pint.
  24. Flow Riders look uber cool. I wants a go Do we have any information on what the upcharge will be for it? (I assume there will be an upcharge with it being such a slow throughput attraction.)
