2013 Changes
I'd be happy with a nice spruce up to be honest. The hotel, although not the best scenario, is an attraction nonetheless, and shows they're not willing to let the park go a whole year without attention. They've done some impressive things this year with the park, and if they have the same mindset throughout the closed season, I could see great things happening.

Fright Nights 2012
Cannot wait. Something about this maze just has me in intrigued after seeing X10. I trust that Thorpe are not afraid to try something completely different, and providing the concept is solid, will carry it off with ease. Compare this to AT's new maze and I'm really not expecting anything other than generic scary maze with twisted theme.

Closed Rides
Yeah I've been in an evac firstly for X10 before the attraction even opened, then on Seven, where rumor started circulating the queue that a plank of wood fell from the ceiling haha... It could happen...

PR / Marketing
Says the park holding a freaking night club in their entrance hall. haha...

Fright Nights 2012
Seems like a bit of a health and safety gaff considering the amount of people that'll run out hysterically not looking where they're going. However, whats to say that's still going to be the exit. It could be split up into two narrow corridors and you exit by the old Seven entrance?

SAW: Alive
All I ask is the the actors actually bother to watch the movie that they're supposed to be acting in relation too, rather than just blurting out completely inappropriate and uncharacteristic crap. I think you have to have watched and enjoyed the Saw movies to appreciate the level of detail they put in to the maze. Frankly the theming in there is the best on park in my opinion, but I just hate after putting all this effort in to the immersion, that the actors don't carry it, and completely stop you from becoming lost in the movie world.

Samurai
Poor Thorpe, they must have a massive maintenance bill this year. The slammer being down, Stealth needing a new cable, Rush was late opening because it needed extra maintenance, Storm surges belt slipping off, and now this...

How Busy Is It Going To Be?
Another moderately busy day yesterday. Whilst slightly annoying, It's somewhat of a relief to see things are finally back on track as far as gate figures go. Hopefully its enough to compensate for the weak early summer period. Definitely something to do with the Olympics in my opinion. People were probably putting off their visits until it was all over.

Fright Nights 2012
As someone who just isn't phased by actors going "boo!" I think I get where they're going with this, and I like it. They're definitely thinking outside the box, I can definitely see this relying more on sensory awareness and less on actors. I still don't see the uproar about the £3 charge. We pay exactly the same price every day of the year, and yet when they add all these new attractions at halo ween there seems to be an entitlement to free entry for some reason. Also there's still the forgotten question of: Where exactly are they going to put this attraction?

Fright Nights 2012
If this annual pass family and friends discount thing is true, they're are going to get absolute hell from me. It says nowhere in their T&C's there are any restrictions on this is, and if they're not willing to offer it to me then in my eyes they've breached their contract. On the other hand, £3 for all the mazes is perfectly justifiable in my eyes, providing they scrap the £5 annual pass fee.

Fright Nights 2012
I'm kind of relieved to see that it's probably safe to say the new maze won't be in a big white tent. I was really expecting it to be on the beach alongside the curse.

Fright Nights 2012
A few twitter hash tags that noone actually knows about. It's not just that, it's AT in general. Marketing for SW7 has just been non existent so far. By this point we had actors, signs, countdown, even the rides name for THE SWARM. I'm not saying Thorpe are doing anything "revolutionary" but they certainly spoil their visitors compared to the meager effort AT put in.

I really do adore whoever is in charge of marketing at Thorpe Park. Cut past all the in your face brand imagery, and really they know exactly how to get people excited about their park. All you have to do is look at AT's pitiful attempt at hyping their new maze to see the difference.

How Many Times Have You Been To Thorpe Park This Year
Alternated between Thorpe and AT, visiting once every month. Plan to visit Thorpe at least another 4 times over FN with different people though. I like to get my moneys worth with my annual pass, haha.

SAW: The Ride
The best part is, they couldn't even find a black piece of the cardboard for it. There's a logo on it from a bread company or something

New Pathway By Stealth?
There's a piece metal under the pathway by the queline to stop the cable hurting anyone, I had a look yesterday because I was curious myself as to why you could walk under that section. I'd assume they'll probably install one over the the whole launch in the closed season. The whole Stealth plaza is really overdue some developments really imo. The area looks quite bare compared to the rest of the park. I think if they build this second link to THE SWARM island it'll probably make the area look a bit more lively.

Fright Nights 2012
They seem to be avoiding using the word maze which makes me think maybe it'll be a scarezone? Only Just not as awful as that horrible Dead End one a few years back I hope...

2013 Changes
Any news/updates on the hotel? Are they any ground works going on across the water or anything? If not I'm assuming it was scrapped/delayed maybe?

Fright Nights 2012
Just an interesting snippet, My friend says she was invited to an audition, but says there seems to be an all new team since last time she went. It would seem the team responsible for Saw Alive etc, have been replaced. The entertainments team have been doing a great job this year, so I could only see this as a good thing.

Stealth
That right there screams piss awful management to me. You would never get that kind of behavior in a (well run) restaurant for example. The moment it dies down, you'll see staff out there cleaning tables, polishing cutlery, sweeping floors etc. There should be a persistent management presence around to allocate tasks properly rather than having team members do whatever they like.
