ahh shame! for sure, I way preferred vortex to scorpion. scorpion always felt like it was gonna fall apart and I havent been in about 4 years haha used to go all the time as a kid and I'm going again next month, excited to try out the new ride - looks pretty decent for AI
-
have they removed dragons claw then? or did they just relocate it
-
so looks like the saw contracts running out soon, new lazy IP probably incoming

as others had said, I'd just love to see a complete revamp with 5, even 4 just really good and decently long mazes. one outdoor one would be fine, but I really miss the intensity of the classic indoor attractions. I'd love saw alive to go (as fun as it is), and see a different maze in there if possible. a non TWD maze in the back of X with the quality of cabin in the woods in 2014/15 would be great. I could actually imagine a revamp or vulcan being great though tbh - the concept is one of the only unique ones they've had recently, every single maze is just zombies or serial killers - thorpe should really start branching out with themes tbh. imagine what they could do with a swarm maze, or a technology themed maze or just something different - having humans in bloody makeup screaming 'ahh' or 'help me' in your face for 3 minutes hasn't got anymore entertaining in the last 8 years lmao. they need to step it up to match towers in terms of intensity, I'd rather be pushed around a bit or have some unique scares than just being screamed at in the face by every single actor. also, keep up the levels of roaming actors - I remember in 2013 actors were literally chasing ppl through the queue of asylum and chasing after them all the way into the toilets, but every year after that I've been I've hardly even seen any actors. I just think they need a complete revamp, new themes, less boring scares, more intensity, some decent parkwide theming and just.....make it more of an event?? rather than an average thorpe day with some shipping containers plonked near Colossus
-
were there any actors or effects or anything? or was it literally just a vending machine
-
ok dis hard
-
wtf lol, all of that buildup and speculation for two generic escape rooms
-
wow, so I rode it for the first time on Monday and the entire pre show was projected onto this curtain. could you post in spoiler tags what the 'surprise' element is and how the curtain rises etc? I didn't realise it was broke on my show, it was lite literally just a video projected into a curtain haha. thanks!
-
how 'extreme' actually is this? is it just the normal maze with smaller groups of like 3 and more actors, or is it as intense and touchy as like sub-species? just wondering, thorpe always seem to exaggerate things lmao
-
so they split you into smaller groups, you don't get forced to go on your own? or does only one person get put on their own? I'm confused and might be going sunday. also, is SAW alive also open during apocalypse weekends or is it just living nightmare? cheers
-
sounds really good, I'm excited to ride it soon. is the generator post-ride or like as the carriage is going to the ending station? and what's been added to the exit corridor?
-
okay, considering this has been going on for so long.....I'm calling a maze this year, which will either be unique or different for thorpe or even a towers type thing, where the maze happens and then leads into their next big investment....but it would make more sense if that happened in 2020. eh idk. if it as different maze, I feel like this is planned way too far in advance just to be a saw alive update; I'm guessing they'll do something more extreme (but still accessible) like sub species or the mine tours, as thorpe really seems to be lacking in anything other than traditional mazes on fright nights. they need to do something different imo for this to be exciting
-
just out of interest, what's the exit scene like / what happens when there's no actors there? cheers
-
ohh that's wild, do you know what part of the demon the actor is in? I just can't see how it's an actor or why it's an actor if the demon always does the same movement like it does in videos etc, seems pointless to me. surely if it was an actor it could do more varied movements etc to scare more people? the movements are really lifelike though tbf
-
I always thought that lmao, but it obviously isn't if it's been getting stuck after the lights come back on. I also only went on it once, I assume it does the same movement each ride so its obviously an animatronic? That's what I've heard anyway
-
that actually looks so ****ing stupid lmao
-
I only ever went on X:NWO about twice, and this was just before it changed to it's current form, so there wasn't many pre or post ride experiences. I'm aware that there used to be fake lifts before the station, but just out of interest - what were the original pre and post ride experiences? (also the post above me if is incredible)
-
my guess is living nightmare extreme won't be an actual extreme FIA type thing, but will probably just be an improved and maybe scarier/more intense version of the maze. after all, they want it to get the crowds in - the majority of people would much rather a scary, intense yet normal maze rather than being thrown about in handcuffs and have fake ****e thrown all over them for 10 minutes
-
yeah, if I remember the trains used to stop on each break run, then go back and forward a bit before carrying on. as they stopped weird noises played and there was like static dummy models with lights on them just kinda...sitting there staring at you. couldn't imagine there being much room to add theming or animatronics there though lol. I'd rather they just make a good year round maze (as stupid an idea as it is) than try to turn X into a walking dead coaster. I just really don't see how it'd work lmao
-
in regards to the swearing, I'm more surprised none of the merlin mazes have generally used it before - especially considering the age recommendations. it's subtle but imo, when actors are swearing at you it definitely heightens the intensity of the maze tbh. glad TWD has implemented it. that pre show looks pretty incredible, I'm just confused as to what the **** is meant to be happening when the lights flash and Negan is just like 'go in.'. lol. also I could imagine it being really awful if the guy playing Negan was ****e, but that guy seemed pretty decent tbf
-
anyone else surprised by the swearing in the video above for LN? like I don't understand why but I've never ever heard swearing in any merlin maze before, just something I noticed
-
okay so on the (insanely expensive) fastrack tickets it says containment is not included, confirming it's return....but I can't find tickets for containment anywhere on the site. is it actually coming back?
-
what was the cinema like when it was used for the SAW movie bites? did they have actors in there and stuff or just horror clips with the 4D effects, I'm curious
-
eh makes sense I guess that's why no one's mentioned it but thought something people would have at least in spoiler tags, and I can't find literally any POV's with it in which is weird. are Thorpe not letting people film the end or something?
-
DONT read this if you don't potentially want the ending spoiled but....is it true that.. I'm only asking as some reviews earlier in this thread fail to mention this part, and it isn't on any of the pov's online. does it actually happen or did I just hear wrong?
