  1. Eye reports are saying the support collapsed, although with wheels coming off the train who knows. Can see this ending the park.
  2. Very disturbing images coming from M&D's as it appears the inverted coaster Tsunami has left the tracks http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/live-tsunami-rollercoaster-crash-mds-8287128?service=responsive
  3. Magnus Colossus at Terra Mitica, removed a fair amount of skin from my legs! Furious Baco is very close behind.
  4. If you thought Thorpe's was badly managed (I actually didn't) this one has been a PR disaster for the park.
  5. Its starting to show more and more how much the park needs a couple of high capacity rides, I'm sure even on a like for like basis space wise rides like Tiny Truckers, Peeking Heights and even Griffins Galleon could be replaced relatively cheaply. Its also quite sad that the Vampire is still "the ride" after so many years, with the parks history now its never going to be accepted as a zoo again. There are a lot of single minded people on Facebook comments, much like with the other parks, but Chessington easily have not only the worst through puts but generally the slowest loading of all.
  6. I never got anything when it rolled back, wish I had!
  7. It was open Saturday morning, but was told it is awaiting a part.
  8. Had a coaster climb of The Swarm today, odd the effect were on as the park didn't hit 8k visitors.
  9. Since most people knew about this deal and most say they always visit the park, they either have an annual pass or book online (even the vouchers require an email address) and the park already has your email... For an offer like this anyone who tried to log at at 10am sharp run a huge risk of not getting them anyway, since most peoples emails run for about a minute it would have sold out by late 10.01am anyway. If you were that desperate you'd have the page open earlier than 10, end of the day 1871 people got tickets, good on them for thinking ahead and I hope Thorpe stick closely to their guns on this. IF they feel they need to do something then just take the first 1871 from 10am and contact them. Chessington opened a few minutes earlier last weekend, I'm started to think I should of waited outside.
  10. Its the drips on the supports that make that look really good!
  11. Most of the rides have now opened, there are a few unhappy people around but staff have been great, the sun's come out and it's starting to come together!
  12. Bit of a shame there is no Penguins show until May half term, does drive people to Pandamonium.
  13. I agree, Ripsaw was always on a terrible program!
  14. I have to say however good Valhalla is, on the 7th of February that and Spongebob are the last rides I'd want to go on this time of year and I'd imagine when they looked at it they probably felt the same. Wild Mouse was closed towards the end of last season obviously needed a little more attention. I don't imagine in February they are attracting new visitors, so anyone who looked outside and thought Big One would be open may have needed there heads checked. Yes its disappointing I have to do a 300 mile trip to get there but seriously some of the comments about half the rides being shut and them being dishonest is disgusting when its not the case. There wasn't a single theme park I visited last year where everything is advertised as "open" where rides haven't been shut, in some more local places more than 4. I'd rather go to Blackpool in February still get on 7 coasters, several thrill rides, some amazing classic family rides for £15 quid than rock up outside any other theme park and stare at a gate.
  15. Looks really odd with the Skyway gone.
  16. But again what needs more painting, the entrance which isn't used for Vampire, or Vampire itself? in the whole sense of what's going to be done and not done this close season, if it's not going to be used I still don't see the point still taking into account most people just walk past it to get to the entrance.
  17. I have to say I don't see the point in re-painting it if it's not going to be used, actually didn't think it looked that bad?!
  18. I'm probably way ahead of myself, but why repaint Vampire entrance if it's not going to be used again!?https://m.facebook.com/Themeparkuk/(sorry can't link directly to picture on phone!)
  19. Explains the mess behind it http://theme-parks.org/UKthemeparks/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/DSC02494.jpg

    Logger's Leap

There is a good chance the work that needs to be done to the ride may out weigh the cost of keeping it, in which I can't see a park especially Thorpe without a Log Flume for long. Perhaps if the costs of this mechanical work is to high once its started, it will be better for everyone to rip it and get another one to last us 30 years.

    Logger's Leap

I'm sure the rerbishment is more than what we just see, there will be upgrades behind the scene none of us will see but will help the ride going forward. Have to be honest on its reopening I'm not expecting visually much difference.
  22. We were told during our back stage tour it was planned to close for early maintenance after the weekend, considering its given up the past few years during fright nights it's well deserved. Cable was replaced not that long ago as the old ones sitting on the floor still.
  23. The park does look really nice in places, Halloween music was playing all day there are more than I've ever seen lights setup so expecting the park to look amazing at night. Here are some pictures before the park gets trashed! http://theme-parks.org/ChessingtonUK/features/halloween-at-chessington/halloween-howloween-2015/
  24. Was indeed open today from 11. But watching it bounce and slowly turn for 90 seconds when it needed to park was painful to watch.
  25. Has a slightly different look this side! Some more pictures http://theme-parks.org/Thorpe_Park/?page_id=4714
