Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Was my first time on the new ghost train yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised! The queue and pre-show is a lot better now and the VR is soo much better with the new headphones. The new VR section was my favourite part whereas that used to the worst by far, and loved the ending! Still, can't see how this attraction will run in the long run with it having like 15 staff + actors whereas other main rides like Colossus can run with 4 or 5.

Slammer replacement?
With heavy rumours of X and Slammer leaving the park 2015, I wouldn't be surprised if both X and Slammer got removed shortly and that area getting used for a large investment over the next few years. What I'd like to see as well, but removing X won't be easy so we will see

Timber Tug Boat
Seems like Thorpe have been working on the drop tower ride which I heard would be opening next season. Now Slammers going to be closed I'm guessing they are using the money to open up the drop ride instead. Also confirmed on Facebook it'll be called Lumber Jump, yayyy

Slammer
RIP Slammer. Didn't expect it to go after one of its best seasons last year A shame but can see why the park have done it, doesn't make sense to keep chucking money at a ride which constantly breaks and isn't that popular from a business point of view

^ Whenever I've been before and a few rides have been down they have done the wristband for £10 so its odd they're not doing that anymore??

Zodiac
It's not to do with the fact that it reaches 90 degrees, but H&S don't like the procedure for if it was to get stuck at 90 degrees, hence why it will now only reach 70. No idea, but if the towers one still reaches 90 I'm guessing it's due to Thorpe having a different model and therefore the procedure for it getting stuck at 90 degrees would be different. Should've been more clear in my first post, but it's not to do with the fact its '70% safe' but the procedure for if it was to get stuck at 90 degrees. If the ride could no longer reach 90 degrees due to its performance I'm pretty sure they would just get rid of the thing.

Rumba Rapids
I couldn't help but notice this as well! There's so many spots which have been left! From what I have heard, Rumba is a more long term project so will have more done in the following years. Lets just hope this does happen and it isn't left in the current state its in now...

Its been tweaked on purpose to reach a maximum of 70 degrees now due to H&S, its nothing to do with the strain of the ride or it not being able to reach that height. It is odd that they've decided to make it come straight down once it reaches the 70 degrees position though.

Alton Towers General Discussion
The Smiler is the only ride closed today, rest were just experiencing shutdowns. Everything thats meant to be open is currently open. Do still think its poor though how they continue to have main attractions closed without this posted on social media or their website, same goes for Thorpe with Stealth.

^^ They've probably done it for the same reason they take the signs down when it's closed for a long period of time. It had one of its best seasons last year, and maintenance has been carried out on it this winter, I can't see it going anywhere
-
Colossus
Yeah hopefully it's not weight issues like last season so they don't have to leave rows of seats empty again
-
Colossus
Seems Colossus is still having problems with its lift this season, had an evac this morning and was closed till around 2ish. Opened again and another evac on the first train

Closed Season
Infernos mist has also been a lot thicker the last few years than it has in the past I've noticed. I believe saws blades didn't work last year due to them doing something to them during winter maintenance, and if they were to get them working again saw would've had to open a lot later. Wonder if theyll be back for this season.
