That was exactly what I though about these rides, like what's the point in not adding a couple of inversions, looks so boring.... then I went on Shambhala, needless to say, I pray that the UK get's one soon!! I did ride Kumba, but back in 2005 when I was 11 so struggling to remember but it does look an awesome ride... and well so did dragon khan, but I was so disappointed by it, to the extent I wasn't fussed if I didn't ride it again!

Shambhala is the best ride I've been on... It is worth going for that! Even if Dragon Khan is boring, rattly and forceless, stampida is horrendously rough, and baco which needn't any more explaining, makes one good coaster out of the 4, but the rest of the park is incredibly themed and the water rides are awesomem.. So personally if you haven't been go for the creds and as many rides as possible on shambhala (I got 20 in a weekend), a return visit I'd rather go try other parks in Europe as I haven't really been to any, although definitely missing shambhala already!!

The layout and launch is amazing and so is the idea of the winged seats the way it interacts with the landscape at the beginning... But as I've said before you need to be in a particular seat on a particular train, probablyat a certain time of day lol to have an enjoyable ride, and when it's good, it's sooo good, but probably like 99% of the time you come off feeling brain damaged and need a rest from rides for like an hour where its violently shaken you around so much!!

So glad to see all the effects working on the swarm again.. The water by the helicopter is my favourite bit for some reason

I'm going this Sunday... Just wondering what time they have been letting in annual passholders over the easter weeks, as I'm sure they used to let general guests in earlier, like half 9? Cheers.

was looking on their website which has been updated (recently!?) and looks pretty decent, and spotted the information about the parks closed rides and park closing time... 'The park is open. Gates open at 9.30am. Rides open from 10.30am. Closed Rides: Pirate Adventure, The Bounty and Splash Canyon. Ride queues close at 7.00pm' Besides the fact 2 good rides are closed! ride queues close at 7!? fair play drayton also the new thomas land expansion is open

it's a real shame all thee changes, for the worse... it was actually a decent attraction on the preview night, and then done it again the saturday following it, and felt more rushed, dreading taking my friends through it on sunday as I'm sure they'll be disappointed! We spoke to someone who worked at the park on the preview night and they asked us about the maze and said how long it took us to get through, and we said about 15 minutes or so, which was really well paced; and then he was like we need to half that, it looks like they've really tried to, such a shame!
-
And you'll probably hear me screaming the whole way through -.- Was so much better than I expected though!
-
someone I know who works there, rather than a worker actually telling me that in thorpe
-
apparently the new motor on vortex is f****d according to someone who works there... shame as I was looking forward to vortex when I go thursday in the few hours before the park closes at 5. at least rush is now open for the evening preview

So went yesterday... And was very disappointed to find that it's still the same old dawn of the dinosaurs version!! On the plus side the foam/snow and water effects seemes to be ridiculously overused compared to what I remember, got covered in the foam aha!

2 years is enough for a 4d film in my opinion especially when you end up watching it several times in a year... And then for it to be there for a third year, and certainly was worrying about a 4th, so this news is very welcome; this news isn't exclusive, it just says on the 2015 map on the Alton Towers pullout in The Sun. The fact it uses a Scrat based short film is going to be amazing... The best bit about ice age tbh. And it's gonna be new, so

It's an out of hours event like summer nights... So the charge is justifiable I guess but mainly due to stopping people reserving loads and not using them (cough me cough - sorry).
-
Tomahawk was actually great fun and not that rough... the issue was, only one adult to a row, and I struggled to fit in being 6ft... so hopefully the new trains will solve the problems.

skip to about 0:58 behind the scenes tour of I'm A Celebrity...

wow, how I didn't realise that lol... forgot most of my visits I didn't actually use ERT partially due to getting there a bit later just before 10, but I'd rather do that and go straight to sonic, then rita and th13teen and accross the valley to forbidden vally by 11 so wasn't too much of an issue... I just feel bad not taking advantage of ERT most of the time but literally messes my day up as by the time I move aorund the park the rides in dark forest then have pretty big queues.
-
I actually really like Nemesis Sub-Terra and still scares me silly every time... this news of midday opening if true is going to be mega annoying as I go forbidden valley in the morning for ERT and would leave by 11 once I've done ripsaw and sub-terra when they opened at 10, and most likely not return to forbidden valley for the rest of the day. See this is why I prefer Thorpe Park... Alton Towers is becoming such an effort of a day out with the monorail, miles to walk say if you get somewhere and a ride is broken down etc. and now areas not having all the rides opening together, and rides that could really be open for the season just choosing not to in order to save money (losing flat rides and not having them), it's just getting worse and worse for what should be the UK's world class theme park.
-
doesn't look to good with the back row hanging off the track almost can't be good news for S&S or the park for that matter... lucky no-one was hurt though.
-
that's got tonnes of actors in... we don't know what this will be like, but I can just see it lacking in actors and the chavs thorpe park are famous for will take any opportunity to ruin something lol.

how long until it's covered in chewing gum and graffiti?..

Turned out to be a decent day to be fair... Tidal wave did open on and off (crazy people riding it in this weather!), and saw seemed to be running fine after it opened On the flip side... Rush decided to have downtime and then to reopen on one swing only, Colossus is still only ever on one train, so as per last season, the second train doesn't seem to be ready yet, and again with X on 2 train operation causing them to have long queues over between about 30-60 minutes whereas the other coasters (besides saw which was staying around an hour for most of the day) seemed to have 20 min max queues once they eventually got onto two trains. And as expected and stated, Slammer, Samurai and Rumba are closed for further maintenance.
-
And on top of the closed rides... Everything is on one train, even X I think (maybe 2).

Thanks! Good point about the height... I mean even though XXL at Winter Wonderland was incredible... I find the Wipeout ride at Brean Leisure Theme Park (Which is a much smaller KMG, don't know the technical name) gives a much much more intense ride and possibly more fun depending on what you like.
-
may I ask what about it makes it better, as from what I presume it is one of the smaller ones in terms of height?
