  1. to be fair 12 seconds of amazingness, is better than a 3 minute ride with 5 seconds of goodness and the rest mehness
  2. oh no you didn't hahahahahahahaa but have you ridden storm surge 103 times in 2015?
  3. If it's that first weekend of January, then I may just go! Even if there is a bigger airhop in Bristol, worlds biggest in fact ;-)
  4. Unless they're planning to build a new log flume at both parks for 2017, bulk buy, replace dragon falls too, why the hell not
  5. please do explain the reasoning about the poor day, with the information the park reply with if they do reply... just seems such a shame you would say the coaster or park isn't worth the trip by itself so would be interesting to know in more detail why and be able to judge for myself as I'd still like to go, but everyones opinions help.
  6. the reason I'm a celeb had no fast track though was because it was such a bad throughput... I don't know what they did with the smiler and swarm when they opened if there was fast track straight away, I would expect WC16 to have normal fast track besides VIP's from opening. reading through those perks of VIP's whats the golden ticket things? like is it one experience (of their choice) per passholder, or do they get to do them all, a little confused... either way I think the VIP pass is a great buy, just a shame I wouldn't have the time to use it to it's full capability, and more to the point have people willing to get one with me otherwise it limits what I can do.
  7. The flume closure this year was probably for money saving reasons, as the park was expected to be generally quieter after the smiler incident for the rest of the season. I still fully expect it to be open in 2016, although I highly doubt the flume will get refurbished as the ride is so old and the layout is pretty rubbish and is just length for the sake of it - I'd like to see it replaced with a pirate (mutiny bay) log flume or watercoaster style ride... and potentially blade (as that's unlikely to be open in 2016) moved to the lake next to the flume. As for loggers leap, I do hope they keep the canadian theme if they do remove (and hopefully replace) loggers... but removing a log flume which is a signature family attraction at theme parks is a very silly move. Lets hope they can cope in 2016 (and more to the point bring it back in 2017), and storm surge somehow becomes reliable, and tidal wave doesn't have it's few week breakdown/closure in the summer... I'd like to think rumba gets some attention over winter to make up for the loss of loggers... but........
  8. My (what I think is a) reasonable plan for the next 5 years... although being Merlin you don't know what goes on in their minds aha! 2016 - WC16 2017 - Loggers Leap/New Log Flume + Rumba Spruce Up (Chessington had Year of the Penguins, Thorpe will have Year of Water rides ) 2018 - Phase 1 of Hotel + Flat Ride to replace Slammer or Samurai (Whichever gives up completely first) 2019 - Rollercoaster on island next to The Swarm (I'd prefer RMC in Canada Creek around the log flume and disused train track though) 2020 - Phase 2 of Hotel (Shark Hotel closes) + Small Attraction (I don't know what though, replacement to I'm a Celeb, or Flat Ride to replace whichever one the Flat Ride in 2018 didn't replace aha)
  9. regardless if it's the same loggers... I still expect the park to have a log flume in 2017
  10. obvious troll is obvious... I'd seriously be shocked if it's gone for good, and doesn't return in the near future in the same form or another
  11. It's annoying but I'll still visit of course... That's the problem, they know they can get away with it.
  12. It did make me wonder why loads of stock was on sale when I visited in October... A pretty hefty project for a Christmas thing... I reckon it will be permanent personally.
  13. low maintenance is the word we're looking for in terms of what they look for in themeing... I think they think the same about rides and get it all wrong haha
  14. how unreliable has loggers become? very? it's usually closed with someone stood out the front when I walk past as much as it's open... so it does make sense to try and cut budget somewhere for a year, while giving the necessarily TLC to make it a more reliable ride for 2017... one can hope they do a legoland and do a nice refurb and update the theme etc. too (plus thorpe can advertise it I guess)... but we'll have to see, I'm not holding any hope, I'm still expecting plain old loggers, and anything better will be great, even just the tunnel!
  15. It's probably due to its unreliability and to give it a proper refurb.... But going by Merlin, and chessington's runaway train / scorpion express project... Loggers will probably stay closed all of next Season with no work done to it, and then everything will be done last minute the following closed season.
  16. After tweeting them yesterday saying RIP loggers leap... Thorpe have replied saying it should only be closed for 2016 season....
  17. So when it says 'the island landscape is changing..' It really isn't that much, just another abandoned warehouse haha!

was this anyone's jam back in the day... just me, okay...
  19. well fright night dates are confirmed online on the opening times basically... all summer is 9.30-6pm, so it's possible it could make a return - it didn't seem any quieter this year, and they clearly deemed it popular enough to make money back in 2014 to do it again this year, so even if island beats doesn't return I still think summer nights will... they obviously just don't even know what they're doing themselves yet so leaving it closer to the time again... an easter event would be nice, but don't really know what they could do. I'm still praying for feb half term.
  20. is the whole of blackpool pleasure beach an acceptable answer for most uncomfortable ride?
  21. a log flume is a signature ride... it will be a shame there won't be one in 2016... but they will replace or it keep and give it a major refurb... I'm still waiting for an RMC to fit around the train track and loggers, perfect canadian theme
  22. I was wondering how the hell that would work (using my knowledge of RCT back in the day)... then remembered it is launched up the lift hill so would have enough speed
  23. I always prefer smoother the better (although do like being chucked about a bit in the case of nemesis & inferno)... saying that, I absolutely love megafobia the latest woodie I've been on (first time was a few years ago, but only truly appreciated it this year)... the pleasure beach ones just don't seem to appeal to me that much
  24. yeah it says it on the website if you look at opening times, it's all on there... although this year the wednesday and thursday before first weekend of fright nights were originally open, then changed to closed and then reverted back to being open again..
