If you would be so kind when you're free?

Do the research! From RCDB: Ovlivion length - 1,222 ft Smiler length - 3,838.6 ft Now for the maths: 1,222 x 3 = 3666 A difference of -172.6 ft. OK, so it's just over 3 times the length. But how anyone can compare the 2 is beyond me, considering Oblivion is underground for a distance, therefore people forget that section and "chop it out". Ride length in time or track, well we've established here the length of the track, but it remains to be see if it's the same length in time as Oblivion.
-
Surely it would be better to leave the trains alone, just re-attach them to the track as normal and re-test. Honestly, they're a bunch of butterfingers.
-
According to today's Sun, it's 3 times the length of Oblivion. Bah, what do those morons know! We've seen the pictures and the NoLimits video, it's clearly longer than that. If it was 3 times as long as Oblivion it would be very short and hardly worth riding!

Ooh, my chance to meet you properly Mark. Although I'm sure I have spotted you once during your days working at Chessie.

Rattlesnake opened in 1998. Hiss.

Yeah, as you fly backwards through it, it will read: "Don't turn around!"

Generally, you are accurate with most of the rides you have mentioned, and to be fair, Thorpe's prime was about 10 years ago. In addition to what you wrote about the rides, le me say this... Zodiac It's enjoyable to ride and is nothing like it's predecessor which was a rusting hazard. It has bits of fibreglass falling off the pods and staff cramming people in the pods like sardines in a tin, however, I do like the lights on the pods, and I hate the park logo stickers slapped on to cover up any old Drayton evidence. Quantum The ride may not look as good as it used to but it still packs a punch. Colossus 11 years in and the ride is running very well, and has aged badly, with various modifications made throughout its life so far. My main beef with it is the cobra roll pit and the mess it has fallen into. It needs a good clean, the medusa needs to pour water again rather than dribble into an empty, patterned square floor. The installation of safety nets has somewhat dampened the appearance in my opinion. And then there's the trees and plants, overgrowing everywhere, it's a wonder how people don't catch these when riding it. The overgrowing greenery seems to be general problem throughout the entire Lost City, it's everywhere you go - now we know why they named it the Lost City. Rumba Rapids Perhaps Rumba's days are numbered. we now have 4 water rides in the park, and however crappy Storm Surge may be, I think I'd rather keep that and get rid of Rumba. It's an original and it's lost its shine. It's been 11 years since the Ribena sponsorship began, and about 5 since it ended, and the colours are still evident. No new sponsorship looms, so let's get rid and put something decent in. Tidal Wave The ride is still fantastic for the experience and it's general appearance and may not be what it was. However, it's iconic and unique, a little more TLC and they can have it looking better again. Want more? OK... Loggers Leap Another very old ride, Loggers is looking tired and worn along with the rest of CC generally. With it's double-dip drop it's another unique ride, and needs either a major retheme or tidy-up. The way the water pisses out of a section under the main lift hill or drop (can't remember which) onto the ground below is a sign it's saying "I'm dying!" - this was only visible when CCR passed alongside it. Flying Fish 6 years after it's re-introduction, it's stil running strong. But I wonder why it's still there. Yes, it was good to see it back after 3 seasons of absence, but now Octopus Gardens has gone, this, the Teacups, the Carousel and Rocky Express are all rides only really for the younger generation, and they're all dotted about the park. Even Fungle Safari was good for kids until they removed it. In light of this, the park is a shambles and falling apart. Fact. They need to make use of areas that are hardly used, the Arena and Fungle's old area are potential spots. Why do I go? To have a great day out. But I'm also one to see the positives more than the negatives.

My mate's mum got a Singapore cat about 10 years ago - it's the cutest thing ever with such silky fur, but she is flea-ridden and you wouldn't think so just looking at her with that innocent face. Makes me sneeze like a goodun! Although it's about 10 now, it still has the face of a kitten.

I'm not the only member to browse the forums on an iPad then! Will this giant spider (or whatever the proper damn name for it is), be an animatronic? No doubt there will be audio effects coming out of it. Pleeeeeeeeeease let's not hear that music anywhere that is heard on the YouTube video previewing the game!

You are definitely on my side in positive thinking for Slammer (high five ). Many others here aren't interested in keeping it.

I have the old Chessington entrance music. I know it was composed for another theme park in Europe, and there is a longer different version - does anyone know where I can download it?
-
Peaj, please put me down on the maybe list, I will confirm my decision soon.

I second that! We were talking about the Dr Pepper sponsorship on Tidal Wave recently. I don't want another Bubbleworks sponsorship but that would suit it well.

Because sometimes I come home pissed from the pub! It's the first room when I come through my front door into my flat, my bedroom is the other end! Sometimes waking up and the feeling the cold hard steel is a shock to the system! Last Sunday I got in at 12:35am, and fell asleep in it until about 4:30 when I finally went to bed! In other news, my numb toe has improved a lot today and I can feel a lot more now. It's probably because I've done a lot of walking today, however there may still be a bit of improvement in the toe yet to come!
-
I think it is, yes.

Not very technical. Well I'm no perfectionist either (yes peeps, you're not dreaming), but you've assatained a probable problem better than I could!*slaps sticky gold star on pluk for good work*

Even Th13teen's lift hill has the occasional teething problems.

Looks like our mind has been made up for us, people!

I forgot about the old great fire scene that's not been taken to the new Dungeon! Also, Benin, was the Turning Room turning when you visited? It wasn't when I went today. Guys, please see my review in the reviews forum!

Sorry mate, outvoted. Last September I got in the park at 9:15am, I had 2 rides on Nemesis and got on Air just after 10:00am. But in the past, it has definitely been open before 10:00am. If it's not been, I've certainly seeing it fly around empty during tests before opening!

If anyone ever needed proof that Transylvania has been neglected over the recent years then these pictures prove it. I've never seen so much work done to it in a winter, yet it's good to see, and I hope they're removing that greenery on the arch to stop it eating the building! Interesting how they've resurfaced the main walk in. To me, that was safe before, probably the safest part of the park!

Isn't the Dome a listed building now?

I notice it, and my eyesight isn't the best!

So there is another unreliable ride in the world other than Slammer then! In a couple of years time I shall come back to this post...when Slammer is still fully operational. Yep, you're mad. When Slammer is at the top horizontally, it's about level with the top of Colossus' lift hill, so about 30-35 metres high. They would need to build one mother of a building to fit Slammer in, probably about 50 metres high to allow clearance! One thing that I have never understood about it is the fact it's unreliable yet it runs mainly on compressed air! I know the air isn't always it's reason for being down, but it should be the parks most reliable ride, along with Rush. That has problems too and I don't know if it's the air that causes it to run 1 arm at a time sometimes, but it's always the simpler technologies that go wrong!
