  1. Are you sure you don't work for Thorpe's Marketing Department
  2. And the user with the most least contexted posts goes to....
  3. First room, left hand side and straight on 'til morning In all seriousness, I am believed to believe that this is the pre show room. Best place to be as other forum members have heard from staff
  4. DUN DUN D D D DUN DUN! Hello and welcome to Coasters under the Hammer, A Brand new TV Show that aims to bring the same format of hit daytime television show, Homes under the Hammer. You are the music editor, responsible of the music during the show. You need to pick the best music for the given scenario. What scenario you ask? That will be given too you by the above poster. How does it work? Heres an example: (Go to 3:00 to about 7:50) http://uktvplay.uktv.co.uk/shows/dave-gormans-modern-life-is-goodish/watch-online/?video=4445011445001 The sound designer always knows what song to pick relating to a word that has just been said. One of TV's finest moments! To give context to the game right here, the previous poster would put something like this: "As you can see Nemesis: Sub Terra is a beautiful attraction but sadly, it is standing but not operating" And the responder would reply with something like this: (For the best effect, set your Youtube video to start at the line of the song you want to use. Just add =TIME to the end of the Youtube video e.g. https://youtu.be/ZHwVBirqD2s?t=38s or = 1m4s) And thats all there is to it! The only restriction is that the song has to mention one of the words mentioned within the scenario. Simple! So for the first person, here is the scenario: "Derren Brown's Ghost Train is yet to open at Thorpe Park but there is so much potential for this mind bending attraction"
  5. EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! Credit goes to my friend Rob Jackson. https://www.facebook.com/robjacksonanimation/
  6. It probably won't do, but we can't judge that till the ride officially opens. Also, @StevenVig, Uniforms changed loads dependent on the company, That was a Midland Railway Uniform. Not to say that the uniform that staff are wearing is anything remotely like train station uniforms. However technically the Ghost Train building is more a Depot than a Station so they wouldn't have worn the tailored uniforms like in the above picture.
  7. Oh no... It's not 100% historically accurate! They may possibly have jackets, although might not have decided not to wear them. Dependent on weather etc. We have seen two images of staff who work on a ride that has not even opened yet. Let's not judge so soon!
  8. Bland and effortless... I'm sorry but I think it's perfect for a victorian themed ride... Flatcap, Suspenders. Kind of the fashion of the time.
  9. "AND REMEMBER... TAAACCCHHH NAFFINK!" Related to the topic: I hope we hear more from DBGT in the next few days in regards to opening as hopefully staff previews went well and the ride wasn't a steaming pile of disappointment! However like most of us have said, I wouldn't be surprised if it just opened without warning and it was just a post on social media saying "Hey guys, We are open!"
  10. Yeah, I hate the shop being open... "Hey! Buy stuff for a ride you may think is absolute crap once you have ridden it!" Same when Towers Trading sold Smiler Stuff between March - May before it opened. What was worse at Thorpe a day after it was supposed to open, Photo staff were trying to get people for photos in front of the ride entrance!
  11. Welcome to SORE: The Ride! It's a constant running joke that it's painful. It's a Gerstlauer after all!
  12. Estimated date of Opening: 2048-04-27
  13. That sounds like every trip to Thorpe ever for me... I love the other parks and yes, you do have good times at other parks, however I have had several amazing trips to Alton Towers! There are flaws with Merlin, the problem is with any business that is massive, it get very hard to control and getting a message to the head honcho through the never ending, hierarchy. The smaller parks can control a lot more, If something isn't right they can see that as the big bosses office might be on site. I never said we didn't... but compared to Merlin's strong grip it's an abysmally small section of the attractions in the UK.
  14. Speaking of clothes being blasted off... I can't show my Shambhala ORP as it is too graphic for public consumption
  15. MEANWHILE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PARK!
  16. I think the reason for all the Merlin bashing is because we are in the country where it is pretty much Merlin and Merlin and Merlin, Places like America have much more choice (albeit much bigger) so a lot more for people to moan about meaning the moaning is diluted between the different companies, the UK is pretty concentrated in that regard so people feel pinned down by Merlin. They may not like how they are run but what choice have they got?
  17. This is what an entrance you should be! Eye catching, popping out at you, unlike a lot of the entrances in the UK, flat and lifeless.
  18. Hmm... Interesting. Very odd they would submit application and go through legal proceeding's just to make a statement that they are a strong independent theme park and won't let anything get in there way *clicks fingers x3* Something has clearly changed... They originally wanted it but probably, like a child, lost interest and just can't be bothered with it anymore but doesn't want to admit it
  19. Well they commonly do this anyway Swarm - Thursday Stealth - Wednesday Colossus - Friday DBGT - (Originally) Friday I know Friday isn't midweek but it's still within school time and I don't think any of them were half term (I'm too lazy to check).
  20. Sounds like a certain ride that makes you Smile
  21. Going to try and go shortly after opening... Hopefully! Looks absolutely incredible!
  22. It's a pretty poor behind the scenes video to be honest... It shows the how the most obvious sections were done... The problem is it was a video the same length as the advert and it played the full advert... They brushed over things very quickly. If you want to see how a proper behind the scenes video is done. See here: Also before anyone starts... I know this is for a multi million dollar film, I'm not expecting the same quality but it should at least show the effects a bit more rather that: THORPE PARK! NEXT! FOG! NEXT! PEOPLE SAT ON GREEN SCREEN BOX! NEXT! TRAIN!!! NEXT!
