  1. Yeah, that's the downside however I would like to visit the park before it (potentially) closes.
  2. I'm up for 30th July, make the most of the late opening! Can we possibly do something the Sunday too? Probably not Dreamland as its not really a two day park but something nearby. Diggerland Kent anyone?
  3. Most of us are not sour, it's just fun to tease about it never opening and joking about stuff.Happened with the smiler too and most new ride openings come to think of it. It's not like Thorpe are keeping us entertained! When interesting information is released, we will talk about it but until then, let's get silly!
  4. Wow... Someone's being presumptuous... Please, Change it to "New for ????"
  5. Galactica does about 28 per hour I think. I timed it once and got about that number
  6. "What do you mean you don't serve Arrrrrrtichokes!"
  7. And then... BBQ Smokehouse Which annoyingly in the recent plans they seem to have got rid of for queues! Unless it's not mentioned in the main plan.
  8. Most Popular and Rubbish Throughput are two very different things There may be no brakes but I think it's missed its stop!
  9. Double the number, double the wait. Depends what they mean by complete. Presuming track completion but that still needs to be tested per train etc. (Tries to find my old testing time app that I made for the Smiler three years ago.)
  10. Yes, hype will die down, again look at Smiler... First couple of months it was the next coaster coming of christ, now it's... Meh. The problem is hype is extremely good for visitor numbers, "Oooh that looks epic let's go on that" You have to make the most of hype as indeed it is a fleeting thing... I think if it opened when it should, Gate numbers would have been much greater. I think it will still be popular, but not as much as it would have been.
  11. Conveniently all of the ones about Fastrack have gone #conspiracy Haha! Only joking! But seriously, Back to DBGT chat, I think Thorpe have seriously missed there chance on this being a huge huge hit. The delays have meant that the hype has died massively and quite a few people have lost interest (myself included) I may not even ride it this year as I don't know if I can be bothered to trek down south when there is a much better park about an hour away...
  12. That will only work if they improved the "did you win did you not system..." Last year our group of six (that went through at the same time) were given different bands on the way out. (think 4 of us were given green and two of us red) We spoke to the guy why some had one and some had another and he bluntly told us "Well, I have no way of knowing if you escaped or not so just got told to hand them out"
  13. You know what, That never crossed my mind! Who would have thought Thorpe would have thought of this completely unheard of idea of saying a train is suspended! Like Trains! Which is the theme! Ha! That's made my day! GG Thorpe!
  14. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! Sound like the Ghost Train has been naughty, like footballers that get suspended from matches. "Now Ghost Train, You had a party didn't you and were not match fit for the big game on the 6th, I am afraid the board has suspended you for 5 games" For all those who think this ride is the next coming:
  15. No, it's not down to his permission but I can imagine if when Derren, known across the world for spectacular plot twists and ideas, visited the attraction and saw it was a steaming pile of rubbish and they went "Yeah, we open like this yeah?" He would have quite a few words with MMM or Management and go "Yeah... I don't think so"
  16. Problem is... Some Annual Pass holders (Like me and the nerds) have to travel down long distances and can't just visit on a whim like Alton Towers and the Smiler (at the time rumored) open day (Literally made plans at 9pm the previous night because luckily I was off the following day but had literally no idea whether we would be on it or just staring at it all day) The same rules apply for those nearer Thorpe, they couldn't really have just gone up without first considering "Do I stop over somewhere?" Or "Do I drive up early and drive back late" - A very silly thing to do for everyone involved. Even when it's open we need to plan to go down there, sometimes due to other plans / commitments it's not possible to visit more than once a year. I completely understand the delay, clearly with all the ideas being put into this project some are not working well with each other and feels a bit naff, I think if Derrons name wasn't on it would be open now. It's only because Derron is a perfectionist and if his name and face is being plastered everywhere he wants it to be the very best... (Like no ride ever was) *guitar riff*
  17. UPDATE: We are currently writing a potential bonus song for the album, The song will be called: "99 Budget Cuts" We are also considering a collaboration on the song with The Colossus Choir and are currently undergoing negotiations.
  18. Interestingly, Some images have been taken out of the Article such as the seating arrangement photo, the one of the generator and other thing that I can't remember. Also the article has been severely shortened, very haphazardly too so looks like it was done in a rush Something tells me TechRadar have had a slap on the wrist
  19. And it was done! EDIT BY STRETCHY - All Galactinote conversation has been moved to to the thread created by Kingy.
  20. In order to move the joy of The Galactinotes away from the Galactica Topic, I, One of the band members have set up this Appreciation society to get in contact with our fans, Suggest cover songs and just keep up to date with the latest Galactinotes news!
  21. Thought I'd start my blog with something light and jolly. There is something so amazing about theme parks, the thrills and the adrenaline when your on the towering wonders of engineering. However there are only a few Theme parks where you can have fun without riding a single ride or visiting a single attraction. Alton Towers breaks the mold. It is extremely calming and relaxing to take half of the day walking around the gardens or climbing the Towers rather than rushing from ride to ride. Sure I understand that for those who travel long and far to get to the sleepy village of Alton just want to ride the rides but for those that have "been there" and "done that" it's really something that needs to be squeezed into your day. The Towers are great to walk around and if you come on a day that they are actually open, they are worth a look. For those photographers out there we have some fantastic photo opportunities, from the ground floor, To the roof, you get some amazing photos of the rides in action or the lovely surrounding area. Not to mention getting a look at future additions to the Towers There really is a lot to see! It gives you a perfect vantage point of the surroundings (including a few behind the scenes car parks and the realisation that the cloud cuckoo land chimneys are fake!!) Once your back on the ground you can also go and visit the majestic gardens! From the initial view, this is where the magic of Towers still remains. There is no place like it! From stepping stones to waterfalls, to greenhouses and statues the Gardens have it all and although it looks a little overgrown in areas the overall view is magical.
