The world of sequels and remakes. Once upon a time in a land not to different to ours there was a thing called an original idea...

Maverick rides really well for what it goes through. Minimal rattling. It's no B&M but it's certainly no Colossus either. Intensity wise more comes down to the layout than manufacture.
-
Still higher than IAC. If thorpe, owned by a multimillion pound company, concluded that a throughput of 100 was fine then I'm sure bpb will do just fine with this.
-
It could be Madame vastra, Jennie and strax from doctor who in a spin off of sorts. After all there story is set in Victorian London.

Now that sounds like stealths 2nd train (or launch system) has a problem. Which is something that cant be helped. But that doesn't let Thorpe off the hook, people still have a right to complain and apply pressure to them to make them improve their customer satisfaction. That can be in the form of adding a second train to meet demand or informing people in why the 2nd train is not in use.
-
Hmm a warehouse you say. Stick the word abandoned in front of it and you have yourself a merlin theme. Maybe they could turn the rotting crypt into a corridor made of shipping containers.
-
Stealth requires another staff member to have a 2nd train. It needs someone on the offloading platform where as when on 1 train op the boarding side restraint checker doubles up as the person on offloading. Swarm does not require more staff so should be more straight forward in adding a 2nd, however the swarm trains take a lot of time to check with swarm often being one of the last rides to reach 2 train operation. With that being said I don't think that optional reduced capacity is ever justified . Off peak is called that for a reason. It shouldn't be getting near the level of queues as a peak day and yet it is a regular occurrence. Unless a 2nd train is slowing down operations I think that it should be added. It may cost a small fraction more but it improves guest satisfaction and means that they stand a small chance of removing the title of the UK's queue capital. People don't go to parks as they expect long queues so any time they can be avoided they should be.

Maverick is a better version of a multi launch in my opinion. Although I think thats becuase I like intamin over mack. However maverick does have a great layout.
-
Rita is a pile of junk. Maverick is the sort of ride they need.

Ah, if the money was spent on making the park safer then that was not done out of choice. Chessington would have been forced to spend that money. The investment per year does not live up to that of Thorpe or Alton. CWOA may spend more on upkeep than the others but that's because there is no where else to spend it. CWOA can not expect to keep increasing gate figures year on year with dying rides and no new major puller. Seeing as the council would never (well almost never) grant permission for a new coaster I doubt we will see anything major at chessington any time soon.
-
So you are telling me a park can keep growing at that rate for years to come when they can't build anything. Also how on earth can CWOA be spending £7+m a year. Although that's worked out with altons average spending, I'm quite sure Thorpe's is/will be higher.
-
Funny you mention it has the most potential. I would say it has the least. They can't build anything as most the park is in the green belt. They spend very little year on year. The park has a low capacity and 90% of the rides are dying.
-
Thorpes approved MTDP has stated lengths and heights of which the rides can be. I do believe it's 900m for the next coaster and it can stand 50m tall. Swarm I think was limited to 800m.
-
I'm not sure why it is only 1 train. There may actually be 2 trains with adjustable seat belts but as there is 3 trains the current 2 in use only one of them has it. As for more space I expect it was just that your seat hadn't reached the next "click".
-
Well that ride is 400m too long. It's height is 2m to tall so not a major problem there. Although the island is no where near that size and it leaves the development boarder. The scale is off by the looks of things. And it is near impossible for Thorpe park to dig down. Apart from that it is a very nicley themed. Seeing as after WC16 the next investment would be around 2019 onwards (depending on the hotel) it is way too early to start discussing what it may be.

Absolutely ages for all 3 of them. Samurai managed about 2 weeks of operation just over Easter. Slammer is yet to open. Has detonator even opened this season?
-
One train on stealth is the only coaster with adjustable seat belts.
-
Well clearly there isn't enough demand. Oh wait, any queue above 10 minutes I would call enough demand. We must remember that they are eco friendly and 1 train operation is saving the planet.

It is good to see that they are working to fix whatever your issue was and it does show that they do actually care although sometimes it may seem that they don't. However it is in their terms and conditions that you do not disclose emails from guest services. "This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed."
-
It would be in their contract not to disclose information.
-
Yeah meant the 9th. Although time travel is an easy one to achieve, we are all going to love the 210ft RMC in 2021.
-
The sign was there over the end of Easter (the 19th) as I remember seeing it.

I'm more ranting at the media that creates the bad press. The whole zero hour contract problem is non-existent and so the media blows any story way out of proportion. More jobs created since 2010 than the rest of Europe combined and the likes of the BBC say that is a bad thing. I've had enough of it and as a result I sort of aimed my rant at you when I shouldn't have. So sorry about that, I was talking about the whole UK rather than Merlin.
-
95% of jobs are not zero hour contracts and 50% of the people on them want to be on them. Zero hour contracts are not a problem, lots of people like them e.g students as they allow more work in holidays if normally they only work weekends. Next time a politician gives an argument maybe you should check the statistics behind the ridiculous claim. I dont mean that as a rant just towards you, I'm just fed up of people using it as an argument. (Ill try get back on topic and leave the politics out of it from now)

Well if you are a company and suddenly have to give a wage rise to all your workers by a crazy amount you would be bankrupt pretty quickly. Our recovery is based on everyone having a job rather than a load of unemployed while some people have better paying jobs. So yes it may be a voluntary scheme but I don't feel those which haven't signed up to it should be demonised. Merlin could be paying them £6.50 however they are not. If they wanted to pay their workers £9.50 then they could but that would either eat into merlins profits (never going to happen) or they could lay off workers so others get a small pay rise.
