  1. Was anyone aware of this? "...replaced most of the water trough and all of the spines underneath that supported it." https://www.garmendale.co.uk/theme-park-engineering/winter-ride-refurbishment-work/
  2. Thanks for posting. Arrow Dynamics Vampire at its best @ 6:07....
  3. Probably the only reason they stopped dying the water was to save money.
  4. Thanks for all the replies. I'm just glad I got to ride it in its original form. I went on my birthday (around 14th April 1990) and it had just opened. Not a tree in site, just mud. But amazing all the same.
  5. It's a shame as it was a lot better in its original form. But why the tunnel reduction - anyone know? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have always wanted to ask this but does anyone have further details on why the Vampire was modified in 2001? I understand it was experiencing a lot of downtime but why exactly? Other parks still have Arrow suspendeds in operation - why wasn't it possible to fix the problems instead of modifying it to such an extent to what we have today? And why was the tunnel's length was halved? I remember riding it on a hot day and the tunnel's temperature was noticeably cooler to the outside temperature because is was so long and dark, it really did feel like you were flying into a cave. Why, why, why!?
  7. What would be CHEAPER? Remove completely and create a new finale, or REUSE? I know what MMM will be inclined to go with.
  8. Rumba just isn't rough enough. You don't get wet at all. I first went on it in 1987 soon after it opened as Thunder River (just before the accident) and it wasn't that much better then either. They need to use ALL pumps again plus add back some of the squirters that have been added/removed over the years. And some more of those witches hat things that spin the boats. Anything really. Or close it. I can't believe they've got rid of Loggers' and kept this.
  9. Let us all hope & pray that this will be just as successful as Tomb Blaster's extremely impressive & vastly improved upon cutting edge 'refurb' was. Yes, I am being sarcastic.
  10. Could it have been in the Black Forest Chateau?
  11. He said shutdowns not breakdowns.
  12. How much would replacement Buddha faces cost? Not too much I wouldn't have though - they were made from polystyrene after all.
  13. I see from the queue times that BB is closed. Does anyone know why? Is there still scaffolding over the boat?
  14. Agreed - a spooky/scary ride with a story would be better. The gun thing gets very tedious after one ride Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No music in the finale!? That's just as important as the fountains. (And the mirrors) (And the strobes)
  16. Vampire's running on just one train - so very annoying & disappointing. As said, theming looks good though, so can't wait for darkness.
  17. How cheap/nasty/boring/rubbish - delete as applicable. Spend the money on bringing three trains back to the Vampire (or something/anything else).
  18. From the CWOA website (Q-Times): "This ride is unavailable for the remainder of the 2015 season".
  19. From the CWOA website (Q-Times): "This ride is unavailable for the remainder of the 2015 season".
  20. I've noticed that the status on the website this morning has been changed from 'This ride is unavailable today' to 'This ride is currently unavailable'. My money's on it opening later
  21. I really do hope so. They've put a teaser on their FB page too. Fingers x'd.
  22. Yeah but half the doors probably don't open any more due to lack of maintenance
