  1. Personally, I love Air Race's restraints they are super comfy and its awesome that they don't tighten up throughout the ride like many others. Actually gives you a chance to enjoy the ride instead of thinking about the amount of pain the restraints are giving you.

I believe it lasted one cycle then it closed again, most of the day staff were standing there telling people that it was closed, engineers were at the top most of the afternoon. It was testing in the morning but sadly failed to open

Has it resumed operation yet ?
  5. Friday 18th July 2014 - Trip Report RIDES CLOSED ALL DAY: Slammer (sadly D: ) Tidal Wave ( Although it apparently resumed operation about an hour after I left) RIDES THAT OPENED LATE: Loggers Leap ( opened around 1pm) SAW - The Ride ( opened around 20 mins late) Went with some of my friends on a school trip, was expecting the pack to be packed but somehow the queues were very short, most rides were 5 - 15 mins for the first hour of the day. We went to depth charge's office and attempted to buy a Full Throttle fast track but they were sold out so the kind lady gave us a alternative and to pay £20 for 4 major coasters instead of 5 so we had Stealth, Saw-The Ride, Swarm and Nemesis Inferno. ( We didn't pick Colossus due to the roughness and it was a good job as it was breaking down a lot today!) These didn't start till 1pm so we raided the flats. Anyways after that we decided to head for Rush, 3 of my friends went on this and me and my other friend queued up for Colossus as it was only a 5 minute queue, however when we got into the station it had to be evacuated due to technical difficulties so we joined our friends on Rush. I have to say it was running perfectly today, both swings in operation and perfectly in Sync I think it was really Rush's day today it also stayed open all day with not a single breakdown =D After this we went to Vortex which yet again was a 5 minute queue, like Rush this was running very well, just very juddery at start up. We stayed on 2 more times as the queue line was empty. We then rode Quantum, zodiac which were both good. After this we went to slammer to find 2 members of staff saying it is closed for essential maintenance and two engineers were at the top all day trying to fix it, it did test a few times but failed to open while I was there. We then went on Samurai which was on a very good cycle and parked perfectly. Before we stopped off at Pizza Hut for lunch we did detty which was amazing. After Lunch it was time to use the fast tracks on the coasters it went fine for 2 out of 4 coasters. Our first one was Saw but we were at the front and they stated that it had a running breakdown, luckily the staff were very informative and just stated that the running breakdown was just to add the 8th car as engineers had finished working on it. Next was Inferno and all went smoothly there except the slow loading, we had to wait around 3 mins outside the station waiting for the other train to be dispatched. Next was Stealth, again we were near the front of the queue and it ceased operation due to a fail launch, most likely due to the heat. After 10 minutes the engineer had fixed it and it was all running smoothly again, it was my first ever time on Stealth it was just breathtaking. Lastly, we did Swarm which was also quite good but I preferred Stealth. After the coasters we went on Rumba Rapids and Vortex again, sadly after this it was time to leave RIDE COUNT: Rush x 4 Vortex x 6 Zodiac x 2 Quantum x 5 ( More intense than I remember it ) Mr Monkeys Banana Ride x 1 Detty x 1 Samurai x 2 Swarm x 1 Saw The Ride x 1 Nemesis Inferno x 1 Stealth x 1 Loggers Leap x 1 Dodgems x 2 Rumba Rapids x 2 Storm In A Teacup x 3 Total: 31 ( I believe I went on a few more than this but I can't remember them all) Pros: Rush, Samurai and Vortex running amazingly Friendly Staff ( especially on Saw) Short Queue Times A lovely atmosphere in the park Amazing and helpful staff at the depth charge fast track office place Cons: Slammer and Tidal wave closed all day Some rides opened late ( mainly Loggers) Quite a bit of queue jumping Hot Weather Colossus breaking down lots of times during the day. Lack of vending machines working Overall, quite a good day out, had fun with my friends and the rides that were open were quite reliable. Sadly I came off with a headache after Saw due to it being quite rough we had car 1 which wasn't exactly smooth. I also had to applaud how quick the engineers come once called about a ride breaking down, they were the in seconds to fix stealth! Thanks for reading my trip report sorry its a bit long
  6. I believe there has been a couple of days where all rides have been available, just after Quantum was fixed I think.
  7. Sorry about double post but can't avoid it. Anyways, Pleasure Beach have announced on their facebook page that the log flume is reopening in the next week! Just in time for when I go =D
  8. Anyone know if the broken turntable has been repaired yet?
  9. Hope everyone has a good time, hopefully I'll be able to attend a TPM meet soon
  10. After a few weeks of downtime, Kobra is now OPERATIONAL =D
  11. Also, do you think it is worth travelling from Luton to Thorpe Park for the pay given ? or should I look into moving closer to Thorpe ?
  12. Everything is staying the same, all they are doing is swapping the rusty parts of it with new shiny parts, I'm guessing next closed season the first drop will be worked on ( the second highest) as this season they replaced all of the smallest drop pieces as they were causing damage to the logs due to the holes in the pieces and bumps in it!
  13. It was open today when I went, not sure of the problem with it though
  14. Okay, I am thinking of working at Thorpe Park when I leave school, hopefully on Rides and attractions. Really I just want to know what I should expect on the interviews/ team activity things and also the general day to day working, like the hours, where you are placed, is it the same ride all day or do you move around. So yeah I just generally want to know what a normal working day is like at thorpe and the different challenges that can come up!
  15. Pleasure beach have said on their facebook page that the the log flume will be opening in 4 weeks time, just in time for the holidays. They said this on the 22nd June so hopefully in 3 weeks time it will be up and running again. I really hope during the refurb they have fixed Log 11 its annoying its the only log without the pleasure beach logo on, Also the handles on the front you can't really hold on because of the padding of the log. It looks like to me that log 11 is a newer log than the others due to the differences. To be honest it would be better to have this log on the bars in case of an emergency than log 3, as log 3 actually has the logo and holdable bars
  16. Does anyone know what the problem with Kobra is, it has been listed on Chessington's website as unavailable for the last week or so!

Well the reply Thorpe gave to that tweet sounds like the problem is minor and sounds as if it has a pretty good chance of opening again tomorrow. This is the reply they gave: 'It's been up and down due to maintenance issues that our engineers are working on as we speak ' As Marc said its bound to have teething problems as it hasn't been fully operational with guests on since last July. The reply they gave sounds very promising that the problem isn't that major!

Well as luck would have it, the day I decide to go to Thorpe slammer opens =D. Its great to see it operating again!. I went on her about 2:45pm and had a great ride! Also surprisingly I did not see slammer go down once all day which is looking good.
  19. This is going to sound stupid but I have been wondering this for a while. Why is it that one of the trains (I don't know the number) has no 'car' like front like the other two cars have, it just looks really weird. I havn't seen this train for a while so I'm guessing maybe it might be sorted if that's the train being stripped down. So yeah I was just generally wondering why it has no front 'car' like body.

To be honest, when she does reopen (if she does) it will most likely decide whats gonna happen next. If she lasts the rest of the season without much down time (maybe a couple of days in total) it might stay, but if it seriously breaks down again for a few months it will most likely go.

Has anything been happening to her today or is the area still sealed off ?

Some of us have been talking in chat and some people who went today have said at around 4:30 slammer did some testing ( not any spinning but going up and down) =D It looks good for the future of slammer if its testing again You have to love them engineers the amount of money and effort they keep putting in her!
  24. Pleasure Beach have just announced on their Facebook page a new ride has just arrived, they have not currently said what it is but they said more info and pictures to come soon Also the log flume is still closed.
