  1. Ah let me clarify for you, I was in the queue the first time for about an hour, it didn't go off at all in that hour and again at the end of the day for about 15 minutes in the queue, again nothing, so basically the 2 times I was in the area which totalled about an hour and fifteen it did not go off, definitely more than 8 circuits were witnessed, lowest I've seen it when in a long summer queue and counting was 1 in 3, so I'll take it as either it wasn't working or it wasn't switched on.
  2. It wasn't working both times I went on today
  3. Last Sunday all the speakers in the bush bbq playing chart music sondes terrible and tinny, yet the week before they were all fine

Yesterday the actual playlist itself was brilliant, some really good music, the lights inside the pyramid were also pretty impressive, lots of lasers smoke and strobes etc. However the music in the queue was quiet with a dead spot in the black section before the small incline criss cross bit. The music in the pyramid itself might as well have not been playing.
  5. According to a guy called Dilan working on X the ride is finished and it's just staff training/ testing now. How much of that is true I don't have a clue but thought I'd slip it in.
  6. Just a question I've always wondered, why is it the iconic saw theme isn't used in any part of the ride or the queue/ building/ area?

Noticed the swing furthest from the booth is still under achieving on height, not as much as before though. Also what is the mud hut??
  8. It was testing this afternoon as well

There was some amazing music playing on X Saturday, however it seems like all the speakers in the actual ride are in the middle, you get quiet spots which ruins the sound consistency, it seems like there should be speakers dotted all around, noticed a few more logos and things in the queue which all bring it up a little bit, also there's a new bright sign on the final brake run before entering offload that lights up and says something like "please remain seated" assuming people have tried or something I don't know
  10. Noticed a few improvements this Saturday, the toilets next to the mega store are shut and being completely gutted and revamped, also noticed every toilet in the dome has these flow savinrbg devices fitted, good for their green footprint as every little bit helps. food in the bush bbq was amazingly good as well, genuinely impressed with the burger! So good I had to take a photo! Loggers leap boat was sat along the back visible coming out of the station on nemesis inferno, Saw was shut all day, not sure why, there wasn't any visible work happening, ghost train had a lot of activity with builders etc around it was some fitting something above the door by the photo screens we can't get to yet, also all the photo screens had a picture on them of Derren. Dunno if anyone noticed the egg timer that flows upside down, only like £3 something, pretty impressive! Staff were amazing all over as well and have loads of banter, swarm felt pretty fast as well, might have been me thinking it was but It definitely felt it
  11. Was there yesterday and containment has disappeared, there is a fence round it but there is nothing inside it
  12. Just wondering, is that demon in the video really an animatronic? I know they say it is but they also said these were hidden cameras when it's clear from some of the shots that's not the truth as sometimes the angle is in a position where in the next shot you should see the camera from the previous as this is in real time, yet you cant. But it's very well edited like a horror movie. If that is a real animatronic in the video then I am ridiculously impressed!
  13. It felt a lot rougher when I went recently, my guess was maybe they had added bigger or just more of those pipes that run along the floor to cause turbulence
  14. I know loads of people don't like the new X announcements, but it's gotta be said the guys voice they've got doing it is just spot on, he's got it nailed
  15. On Sunday two engineers were at the top of the lift hill for at least an hour on a few different occasions
  16. Rush was on one swing on Sunday and samurai and Colossus and loggers (obviously) was all shut
  17. Came back from fright nights last night and besides big flop the mazes were all pretty good, just out of interest has anyone else had a female actor in CITW pull you into the bedroom room on your own and offered to have sex on the bed with you?
  18. Is there any possibility it could be a water ride, similar to pirates of the carribean?
  19. Right so I've just come back and I did a backstage tour so I can cover the points I found out, you might know some already: -It is Merlins largest budgeted project and I was told the that a lot of the budget is being spent on the ride itself rather than the theming. -Only 6 people on park know more about the ride and he wasn't one of them although he personally doesn't believe it will be a roller coaster. -It is due to open for the beginning of next season unless problems occur. -October is set to be the month where a large portion of marketing for the new ride will start. -The site where the main island beats stage is now is being considered for a flat ride in the next couple of years along with the fungle safari site. -He also hinted at a ride of some sort being located near the Thorpe Shark Hotel. -In the next two years the park will receive a huge budget increase for themeing which means the park facilities, rides, car park and most importantly Rumba Rapids will be receiving the much loved tlc they need. - The island will be split into 'tribes' known as 'the jungle', 'the lost city etc in an effort to bring back separate lands with defined themes and borders, this again should be in the next two years. -Thorpe Farm is now a nature reserve and so I was told would not be considered for any future rides even though Merlin still own the site. -I didn't know that Colossus was originally planned for chessington but was denied permission and so Thorpe took it, starting the thrill seeker target at Thorpe and families at chessington. -saws project name: Dylan, was chosen as it is the name of the cat of the lead designer an attempt to not reveal any movie link in saws early stages. -tidal wave will not get its flame ball back because it is too expensive to run and maintain both swarms ball and another. -Also apparently engineers are responsible for the regular one train operation as with one on they could carry out work on the train during the day whereas if two are on they would need to stay late and so they will often keep one in. Doesn't sound like energy saving but obviously I don't know if that's true. -saw was apparently the most successful roller coaster launch of any theme park in the world. -stealth is not the end of Rita that Alton towers couldn't get permission for, they are two completely unrelated rides bought in a deal with a reduced price from intamin for buying two. -Samurai is not going to be removed from the park, it is just receiving essential maintenance. - X is at a 'test phase' to see if it is viable to put more money into it if it is popular, apparently the results so far are promising. - A re-paint of Colossus isn't on the cards at the moment, the lighter blue areas currently visible are sections of new track. -There will not be a reduced line up of mazes at this years fright nights, they will be moved around and I'm a celebrity will not be converted back to a horror maze for the period. -Picsolve set the prices for photos not Thorpe Park themselves. Also I saw the construction and there is now one big arch inside the new structure and the outside looks almost identical to X, the rest of the site remained fairly unchanged although very exciting news- insulation has been delivered, what next? Oooooooooo I also did Saturday's ministry of sound night and it was bloody brilliant! Would highly recommend!
  20. Well its opening tomorrow and I live in Margate, I can safely say that seeing the site today it does not look ready, there are still diggers everywhere and trucks full of equipment, an electrician I know who is working there highly doubts it'll be ready for tomorrow, already the scenic railways won't be open because of a delay in completion of the trains and judging by the progress of the site there will be a few more non openers for tomorrow
  21. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-rollercoaster-crash-petition-5820559 Now there's a petition started to shut down the ride for good.
  22. Rows 4 & 5 should definitely have seating for " guests approaching the 51" chest restriction to use them for a more comfortable ride experience" ive got the picture of the sign on my phone I just can't work out how to upload it onto here
  23. Just saw someone put this onto the TPM page on Facebook so credit to Angelo Facipieri for spotting it, but oooooo fire! Could it also be linked to the tidal wave fire effect? Since they are relatively close or would it be just for the new ride?
