Ah, I had that from the op. when I went in April and asked if it could be put on a good setting, allthough I remember my first rides on rush were long cycles which got atleast 4 high swings, it's a shame, really.
  2. I would assume it'd just be a way to 'beat the queues' and it could also generally reduce queue times, albeit not by much, as I guess any pass holders would just tihnk 'what's the point in me queuing when I get my own 'personal' preview later where there'll be little or no queues?' It's rather clever of Thorpe tbh if it works out the way I imagine they intended it to.

    So yes, basically, physics.

I've never picked up any sort of judder in all the times I've been on vortex? It did jerk like once as it was slowing when I went during FN, but that was when it was on such a horrendous cycle, so I just assumed it was due to that. It seems to be a bit of an ongoing problem. And yes, the laws of physdics would suggest that the cycle would appear to be longer, as the actual swings in themselves would be longer. So even if every cycle was, say, 9 swings, if they only reached about 80 degrees, it would be over much quicker as a- it wouldn't take as long to slow down, and b- you'd probably spend like 2-4 seconds less on each swing than if it hit 80 on it's first swing, and then continued with getting 100 degree swings; which would in turn take longer to slow down etc. Although, if the first initial swing was to reach a rather high angle, then there'd be more swings after a a result of the force from that swing, but I'm guessing the operators can manually control when it slows and the rate at which it does so to a certain extent(?) I could honestly talk about the physics behind it all day but I guess I should stop before you all fall asleep
  8. When I went to Thorpe in April, I saw a lady buying a few pieces of AB merch for her son (plush toys etc.) who looked no older than 5. I think it's really just a case of bright colours and 'pretty birds' regarding the younger ones. Even if the land itself may not 'appeal' to the younger ones as they may not know what it is, the simple fact that they are easily fascinated/attracted to bright, shiny or 'pretty' things will make up for that I'm sure. Well, merch-wise atleast.

Tbh when I went towards the start of April everyone seemed to get a fair amount of top spin, which was absolutely brilliant- but I guess I just got really lucky

  13. I must say I am very disappointed with the look of the 'hotel' in general; Thorpe seem to have invested more into that blasted shark than the actual hotel itself! They could atleast do something about that 'corridor' outside the rooms e.g enclose it or put some form of canopy over it. Tbh I think that Thorpe are currently the Ryanair of overnight stays at theme parks- they provide the bare minimum, at, depending which way you look at it, budget or extortionate rates. They promised a room 2 minutes away from Thorpe, that's what you got. They haven't necessarily decieved anyone, if you're foolish enough to expect some 4-5 star hotel made out of shipping containers, then that's your problem, Thorpe could not care less.
  14. I'd love to go to Oakwood at some point- but given the fact I'm only 15 and it is literally on the other side of the country I just can't (it seems like a few others are in the same situation as me regarding that), and Paultons doesn't seem like something I can afford to spend money on. PLUS the thorpe meet could correspond with a summer nights day, woo! Basically, I really want to go to Thorpe.

Banned for going out of your way to capitalise a whole word, but not even starting the sentence with a capital letter.

  17. Thorpe would be the only one that, realistically, I'd be able to make, so I voted that. Although, if this meet is going to take place between the 5th and 12th of August, then I wouldn't be able to make it anyway.

  25. Money dependent, I will most probably go. Unless something randomly comes up as summer can be pretty busy for me.
