"Today, bosses announced it had temporarily shut another Alton Towers ride, Saw, a similar rollercoaster at its Thorpe Park site..." Can people even write
-
I got 8 minutes into that interview and the rest wouldn't buffer (thankfully). She's the most condescending, scaremongering, insensitive interviewer I have ever watched. To CONSTANTLY inturrupt him whilst he was talking about the extra safety measures being put in place is one thing, but to come out and say None of us care about Merlin's sympathy and all we want to know is if someone has lost a limb is another. 'Sir, sir, sir' Jesus Christ be quiet.

"The Smiler and Saw, a similar ride at Thorpe Park, have been closed since the accident and will stay closed for the foreseeable future. Read more at http://www.ashbournenewstelegraph.co.uk/Alton-Towers-Theme-park-reopen-days-Smiler/story-26642168-detail/story.html#KsUV03sGr0YQZGcK.99

They've taken all The Smiler merch and anything to do with the big six challenge, changes are being made quickly it seems
-
'On the ride's website, Alton Towers describes the attraction as having the ability to "marmalise" people's bodies' ... Is that really appropriate to write, Daily Mirror?
-
^ just to elaborate on that, they had staff members in today to remove all the Smiler merch. A good friend of mine works there and posted it on a private account (hence no source).

^ I don't think you understand how obsessed Ryan is with Splatoon and how relevant that post is. I've been replaced for a squid and a paint gun.

I've never trusted the daily mail myself but I thought it was best to post anything in relation to rumours etc here. Like I said, hoping they're following their footsteps of not being correct but it's all so, so horrible right now. Just watched Nick's interview, handled it extremely well and professionally. When they commented on the stock decline he gave a good response showing that right now their main concern is getting this sorted and investigated thoroughly. Still feeling a bit uneasy about it all, hoping the 4 seriously injured injuries aren't as bad as the speculation going around.

Daily Mail (ahem) now reporting that someone is 'thought to have lost a leg'. Aside from social media whispers this seems to be the first actual news source commenting on it, I'm just hoping that the Daily Mail keeps its not so reliable rep and it's false. I really hope it's not true. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3107569/Two-carriages-Alton-Towers-Smiler-rollercoaster-collide-16-people-board.html

There's swearing and not nice screaming in this video, but this seems to be just after the impact Edit: view this at your own discretion. It's not pleasant by any means but I expect it'll be sent around soon.

Too many rumours circulating right now that the Media are using. ITV now posting a 'timeline of problems'. Gross.
-
People could hear them all screaming for help apparently, I really hope everyone involved is okay and that this will be thoroughly looked into

Just finished watching The Enfield Haunting (briefly revolved around the actual haunting in Enfield but way over dramatised). So so good!! If you can get access to Sky then watch it, all three episodes are listed on Sky Anytime at the moment.
