I think we do like sugarcoat things over here.. Alton close a few rides- people go mad, Thorpe do it- oh that ride had a low throughput anyway. Any closure IMO at Fright Nights is a loss, as the park struggles with most of the rides open.. Rumba does require a ton of staff though, but the support lineup is looking a little thin as Slammer is gone now, and Samurai won't last a minute open when it hits October..

So it seems this might have two floors? Sanctum looks very interesting, I think it'll do the park good in that it'll give us Maze on the other side of the park as all of the current mazes are kinda in close distance of each other.
-
I think your forgetting that waste of metal Zamperla garbage in the same park..
-
If you buy tickets on a Fright Night Day this will include the park and the event. So you will be allowed entry from the minute the park opens to the minute the park closes. Anyway hope I helped.

*Sorry for third post in a row* So Screamland have added further details to their website including descriptions of the mazes. So it seems Punchinellos's Revenge will be in the park's mirror maze (similar to Bloody Mirror last year) so it probably will probably be the weakest at the park.. Brotherhood seems like a hooded maze, and The Legend of Crank Jack seems to have an incredibly weird theme and concept (though I think it might be interesting). The Final Cut, Festino, and Dead and Breakfest are also returning with some changes. Still very odd lineup.. Lets hope they pull this off.

I'm pretty sure having multiple Asian areas isn't the problem with Chessington.. Mystic East and Wild Asia aren't really that similar anyway.. The problem of the park is mainly the string of ruining awesome rides, or not putting enough effort into some projects that could great- but end up executed awfully.. Professor Bubbleworks looked brilliant, as did Terror Tomb.. But Merlin as every knows had to screw up rides that were generally brilliant, and gave us botched re-themes like the Imperial Leather Bubbleworks and Tomb Blaster.. Which seem very similar to the originals, but with most of the fun ripped out.. Zufari from what I can remember had its budget cut last minute- which is maybe why its so flawed. Don't get me wrong its not the worst experience on the park (thats not saying much), but its still feels incomplete.. And the theming at points seems like they got some cardboard and painted it to look like a cave.. Overall I couldn't care less if the new Tiger Falls is themed around an Asian theme.. I'm more concerned about whether Merlin will actually give this a decent budget, and whether Merlin will actually make some effort to give us a decent attraction.

They have announced everything though? The only thing they haven't told us is much of a description on the mazes, though they have announced the full lineup. I really think some things are best left secrets though, so Tulleys current approach of not spilling much beans on VIXI is just making me more intrigued on whats gonna happen in the new attraction. Anyway we pretty much know what's gonna happen at Tulleys this year.

Didn't know/think Sanctum would be in Swarm Island, very interesting location choice. Then again I guess Thorpe have to be creative these days as the lack of space. I think its location will spread out the areas a bit more though.. As last year all the attractions bar Containment were all pretty close to each-other.

I think AHS was a stretch anyway as it doesn't seem to be anywhere near the popularity that TWD will bring in for the park. Plus the park probably forked out a lot for the TWD, so another IP would of probably busted the budget for the entire event.. I'm overall happy with the lineup this year, as we're getting Saw and Big Top (the two strongest mazes of last year IMO) returning, as well as two new attractions that boast a large IP behind them, The cinema thing-y, Containment, and a (hopefully) changed and improved Platform.. To be fair I don't think anything is going on around Swarm as they have very low space around that area for an attraction, I think maybe some of the things like the EX10 containers are just there temporarily before they get placed (probably) in Sanctum.

Inferno the worst performing? Really? Saw, Stealth, and Colossus are all probably performing worse than the B&M's right? I do think with the high queues and demand they should have a third train on Colossus , though then I realise this is not Europa where everything runs perfectly.. Lets hope the second train is repaired soon.. Or god help the Queues on Fright Nights..

I guess MBV, Cabin, and even Saw to a extent didn't really religiously follow the films.. Hence the abundance of "rednecks" in Cabin, and how some of the Saw actors can freely move.. Or even the extremely brief backstory that was given in MBV.. that was literally "there is a guy with a gas mask, run!" I don't see this being any different.. People who haven't heard of the IP probably won't be missing out on much..

I'm pretty happy with the lineup this year. The Walking Dead has been known for ages now- but I think the IP is very relevant and quite popular even over here, so I bet it'll bring in tons of people. Two attractions on The Walking Dead I guess is milking the most they can out of the IP, but overall the lineup looks pretty good. The Cinema is a nice extra too, and I think this might be one of the better years of the event if they put enough effort and theming into TWD. I'm actually a tad disappointed that Containment might be free this year, as in 2015/2016 it generally had no queue due to the slot system which meant it was the only thing in the lineup you didn't have to wait 120-180 minutes for..

With my comment I kinda meant that the "A mysterious group who worship the woods and the animals that live therein like Gods have been disturbed. Every year they host a festival to celebrate their own interpretation of Halloween" description as well as the later opening really had me convinced this would be an outside attraction set in Gloomy Wood/Haunted Hallow There has been rumours of a scare attraction around that area for a couple of years, so I did kinda presume it would maybe be set in Haunted Hallow which passes very near to SW8 anyway. Sub Species yes probably would fit FV more theme wise, but there really isn't any space I could think of logically that could house an attraction in that area of the park. On second thought the Courtyard I guess makes sense considering it is fairly close to SW8. Though The Sanctuary ended up in The Towers.. Oh and they plonked up a Clown Scarezone next to a Family Coaster last year. I think its very hard to predict the location of Scare Attractions at Scarefest, as The Towers do have undeniably quite a few options.
-
I think if (hopefully) Alton play their cards right and use the space wisely this could be a fairly long maze (obviously probably not as long as the other three). Now don't get me wrong a Big Top size maze could be great, but Big Top is on the short side, and £8 for a short-ish maze is pretty much daylight robbery. I do find the description of the maze a tad odd considering how its shaping up in construction though.. "A mysterious group who worship the woods and the animals that live therein like Gods have been disturbed. Every year they host a festival to celebrate their own interpretation of Halloween" Nobody would of guessed a concept like that would be placed in the Courtyard? For sure I would of guessed in Gloomy Wood/Haunted Hollow or somewhere in that space. Anyway I think only time will tell with this one.

Okay sorry for double post.. But Screamland just released a teaser that they WILL be 6 mazes this year and ScareTour teased about the lineup having "a number of big changes" too. Screamland is pretty mad for an event that is only on its third year.. Edit: Screamland have just accounced the names and the scare ratings of their mazes this year.. and I'm pretty surprised.. Dead and Breafast: Under New Management - Scare Factor 4The Final Cut presents: They Came From Outer Space - Scare Factor 3Punchinellos Revenge - Scare Factor 3 Festinos Festival of Freaks - Scare Factor 4 The Legend of Crank Jack - Scare Factor 3 The BrotherHOOD - Scare Factor 5 So first off I'm shocked with the Paradise Foundation not returning. As that maze had massive sets and it seemed like they poured there heart and soul when to designing that attraction- so it being scrapped a year after opening by far caught me off guard. The new mazes sound very interesting though. I like how Screamland really gave the event a shakeup, even though the event wasn't really feeling stale at all anyway. The Final Cut seems to be returning with the same theme and probably the same sets as last year- but The Final cut was absolutely outstanding last year anyway, so its return is more of a positive.
-
Very interesting.. I think Alton had a lot of options on where to put it, but I wasn't expecting the Courtyard at all. I'm not all that clued up on memory on how big the area is, though I'm worried if this is gonna feel short compared to the other three.. Also this doesn't open to like 5:30, so I think this might have a outside section? Though it seems like its gonna indoor based? Interesting.
-
I think the Tiger Enclosure (correct me if I'm wrong) will take up a lot of space so I doubt we'll see another flat squeezed in? Peeking Heights was kinda unpopular and sort of a lightweight for the park anyway, god 90% of the time I visited I forget it existed..

Just booked tickets to go and see Paramore in January (I have a huge girl-crush on Hayley Williams) also just booked another round of Tulleys Tickets, and just lost a stone or two, and I'm also finally progressing with learning guitar.. (I can actually play now without deafening my family ) I'm also really tanned after two Holidays, life is looking up.

If that is true, then I gotta say thats a shame as it seemed like a ton of fun. It also seemed to be fairly good value too, if it weren't for my age I would of done it. I hope they introduce another similar experience or extreme experience soon to replace it, as a lot of people seemed to rate Brave It Alone quite nicely.
-
I think I saw on it one when I last went? Though I only saw it briefly as I walked past, though it seemed like it was only on one? Though to be honest here is my best advice for anyone who wants to ride this thing. I would like to see some spruce up of the area around it soon though as it kinda looks like nobody cares with that area.. Colossus is starting to look so run down now they might as well just send it over to Chessington.. At least it would have a semi-decent throughput

How do you know this? I didn't know you had a crystal magic ball looking into the future? As on planet earth Thorpe have not officially announced anything yet.. And the event hasn't started yet too (you can't judge how well a IP is gonna be for a park if it hasn't even been announced yet) Stop jumping the gun, how well this IP will bring in crowds- only time well tell. As other have said too, FN has been financially successful for 16 years or so now, and most of the GP don't care what the themes of the mazes are.. The event has brought in huge crowds for years now, so a massive TV Show like the TWD I think will only boost the profits for this year.
-
I think in terms of IP's I think TWD will probably be the only thing we're getting this year.. The Experiment 10 Containers do intrigue me though, and they make me think we might get a second new maze this year, but due to the wording in the marketing being "a global phenomenon" I think if a second new maze were to happen it would be non IP. I do hope they do really put effort into the IP this year whatever the IP is, and I hope they pump it with actors and generally give it somewhat of budget unlike with previous efforts.. *Cough Platform cough*

I'm going on preview night so I'll make sure to write something up (as I always do). Though obviously things can change from Preview Night! Coven last year for example was kinda terrible on preview night, though on my later run through the actors really found their feet compared to its opening night. I'm so hyped though, I actually bought tickets back last Christmas (please don't judge me)
-
Lets hope Merlin put some effort into this, as this could be a great new area if done right. I guess Mystic East was starting to crumble apart anyway (like the rest of Chessie tbf) so some change will do the area some good. Peeking Heights probably won't be missed by too many, I personally only rode it once, and I rarely saw it with a queue.
-
So nothing announced today.. So I bet they will probably leave it 'til like mid September.. AHS really I don't think will happen on re-thought.. It just doesn't make any sense.. Also just from observing from friends I think The Walking Dead is WAYY more big over here than AHS. Also I do think TWD will be in Cabin's old poorly themed space.. I'm about 90% sure of that.
