  1. I had an awesome time as well. The Big Top was surprisingly good on my run, and of course Cabin was brilliant as always!! It was my first time on Blair Witch too and it was great.
  2. Everyone will hate me for this, but I think a Reserve n' Ride type of idea could possibly work? If they do it just for the mazes, the idea in principle would be very beneficial, its just the question as to can Thorpe Park actually do it?
  3. Sorry to not be on topic, but I read from one of the members of staff at Busch Gardens who said that the main function of the seatbelt was infact to check that the people riding it weren't too large. So for example, if the seatbelt could not be done up, then that person is too large for the actual restraint itself to lock down enough notches to be deemed 100% safe. Is that true?
  4. Wow - This was the #1 most trending thing on Facebook just now. Even Unilad posted about it, which is one of the most followed accounts of Facebook. That's pretty good going for a ride announcement!
  5. Theme Park Guide on Facebook just uploaded a really interesting tweet from Thorpe Park 3 years ago. Can someone please post it on here as I'm on mobile!
  6. Ooh that's a good find! I think that must confirm Derren Brown is part of this.
  7. Guys, I'm confused? Did they announce the IP or what? Is it Doctor Who? I dont know what's going on phaha. Pm me if ya want
  8. Wait did I miss something? Did they release something on their website or wha?
  9. I think they desperately need a revamp. And I'm in the camp that thinks they need to follow after Alton Towers this year!! Every single review I've heard of Alton's scarefest this year has been amazing, and I think Thorpe's development crew need to learn from it. I would be happy to pay £15 or so for at least 3 very high quality, very long, and very scary mazes. When I go to Fright Nights, I want to have the **** scared out of me and I want to come out feeling like I've just managed to escape something mental, and that's what I've heard it's been like for people coming out of Sub Species and ToTT at Alton Towers! I would be incredibly happy if they managed to do that. In all, I think they need to be far more physical and far more terrifying, develop much, much better storylines, and create much longer mazes (like 10 minutes long). This may seem impossible, but I reckon it definitely could be done if they get the budget to do so and if they work incredibly hard! The CITW building, the Saw alive building and Neptune's beach would all be suitably large to make a world-class and immersive attraction.
  10. Ahah shouldn't this be on the WC16 topic? From what I've read both on here and the TowersTimes forum is that Derren Brown seems to definitely be involved in this, and that it's likely London Underground will be part of it.
  11. It certainly seems exciting if they do get changed! Of course that means there's much more room for error (judging by how badly they did with The Big Top on the opening weekend), but at the same time it creates a lot more opportunities which potentially could be amazing! If they change The Big Top into a genuinely outstanding clown maze with a curtain maze, crazy lights and music and a proper mirror maze, it could be just fantastic. Something which could be an issue is how many scare attractions would be in the lineup. Thorpe Park struggles with massive queues and crowds already and they have 5 attractions, which is quite a lot. If they only had the budget to make say 3 attractions for next year, there would be even longer queues and more complaints. Seems like a lot to do to make 4 brand new mazes in one year?
  12. Apparently some of the people on the forum know what IP the ride will have. It's supposedly all hidden on the posters in the Big Top, and the names of the characters have a lot of relevance to the IP? If you look on the Fright Nights topic in General Discussion you'll see that we're discussing it.
  13. Well of course there's also Madame Mephisto? Edit: I think I might also have remembered seeing a poster with a trapeze artist on it, but I definitely can't remember their name.
  14. Ah do you think you could post it here in spoiler tags because I reckon a lot of people like myself also want to know what it was! Also, I heard that Containment probably also had a lot of clues in it. Apparently a London underground map or something like that featured in it.
  15. ^What time did you go in BWP?
  16. In the gifts and souvenirs shop, I saw both the T-shirts and the hoodies. They were fairly close to each other in the shop but I really have no clue what they could mean.
  17. I visited yesterday (Saturday 17th) and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. In general I do think the mazes were all scarier and more intense than last years. Here's some of my reviews. THE BIG TOP I was actually incredibly surprised and impressed with this maze. The first tent definitely does not add anything to the maze and is a bit of a let down, but the rest of the maze is great. Quite a few actors in the other two tents, with lots of jumping out and getting in your face. I actually jumped A LOT in this maze. 9/10 My Bloody Valentine I wasn't expecting much of this maze becUse of all the bad reviews I've heard of it but I did really enjoy it. I like how it cracks down on claustrophobia and forces you to bend down at places, and there's some really interesting scents and theming in there. I also had an actor fully prevent me from getting past and very nearly licking my face. The only let downs was that we ran into the group in front of us which broke the immersion, and the finale was lit up far too well because of light seeping in through the curtains so it didn't have as much effect. 7.5/10 Cabin in the woods This maze was great, as always. I managed to find the control room also. Lots of actors, and some really clever scares throughout. 8.5/10 Saw Alive Was a very good maze actually. I was glad to see they have improved it. A lot more intense and a lot of actors. I think it has a good balance of jumpscares and creepy scares, if you know what I mean. Still wasn't my favourite maze, I don't like the conga line. 6.5/10 Blair Witch Not a bad experience. There was not many actors in the whole thing, but it was still suitably creepy and had a few interesting parts. The vegetation added to it and make it a bit more atmospheric. Like with MBV, the last section was a bit too well lit, however I did enjoy the shed scene. For a 2/5 scare rating, it's perfect, but just isn't much compared with CITW and THE BIG TOP. 5/10 Overall, THE BIG TOP was probably my favourite maze, perhaps because I was expecting it to be really bad, or perhaps because I jump pretty easily. I just thought it had a really good and creepy atmosphere and there were lots of jumpy sections! Also it was nice to experience a brand new maze which I had never done before. I think Thorpe Park did pretty well with their mazes this year. I was very impressed, very scared and had a lot of fun!
  18. As far as I'm aware, this will be fine. I believe the issue arising was that the website would state an error message stating that print-at-home tickets were currently unavailable, forcing everyone to print out confirmation emails instead and queuing at thr advanced ticket collection, I think. We faced a similar problem last year.
  19. ^That sounds great! How exactly do you get to the control room?
  20. I would hate for this to happen. It just totally breaks the immersion and the scares!
  21. Scare mazes always seem to need at least a year before they're actually any good. Studio 13 last year was good but definitely not that amazing compared to the other attraction such as Cabin in the Woods which had been there for 2 past years. I do wonder why they couldn't have reused more of the Carnival of Screams props? On another note, from the POV of the Big Top that I've seen, the so called mirror maze is a bit of a joke, that could have had so much potential!! Anyways, the outdoor section and the ambience does looks great and the rest of the event seems to be doing fine so I'm still excited to visit next weekend!
  22. I live near Avon Valley also. I heard about Fear last year but I haven't gone, so I can't really comment if it is worth it, but it certainly looks interesting!
  23. In CITW, which door should should I take to get the longest and best run through?
  24. Scruffy Dog Ltd posted this picture earlier on today. Although we've seen the sign before, it may tell us where the maze begins?
  25. True - it's intriguing to think about what it's going to be. By the looks of it, it's going to be immersively themed, which I think it extremely important. (I'm also loving the steam-punk vibe!)
