  1. I love rocking up at lunch time, slithering my way at speed through the stoney bit dodging bad parking and rude boys, to get onto the sweet sweet tarmac.
  2. Converts one of their few family rides (and a great ride in it's own right) into an age gated scare-a-thon. What a mess...
  3. I believe I've only ever experienced the vests on Swarm, so unable to say, if you're right however that's a massive improvement. Still would love to know what processed B&M to switch up their OTSR set up, their old ones were great.

Looks like it hauls ass at the end of that, quote me as intrigued. Music sounds nice too.
  5. Fine is a strong word... They are definitely subjective, I know people on both sides of the fence. For me personally, I don't like them as being crushed by rubber isn't a scene I'm into. Vests in general are crap but it still amazes me that the Vekoma ones are better and alot less painful. Why couldn't B&M stick to their tried and tested I'll never know.
  6. Looks like Valkyria will feature the stupid B&M vests, the ones that attempt to break my shoulders every time Swarm goes through the inline, disappointing... Source: @veilstrup on Twitter

No no, please don't misunderstand me. Your argument for if the coaster will be good or not is not what I was referring to, that's an opinion and even more so neither or us can stand by our opinions until we have ridden it. I was simply implying, saying "the layout is crap because Alton Towers can't get around the noise or height limits" is silly, considering what they have done in the past.

You're right, they can't change their height or noise limit... But they can get inventive to find ways to build a kick ass coaster in spite of their situation. This is the park that's home to Nemesis remember? A coaster that wouldn't be half as good as it is, if it wasn't for the challenges they faced and the brilliant ideas they used to overcome them. Half of Oblivion is underground, Smiler is in a pit, the tops of Rita are painted green, Thirteen has a tire driven lift hill, there's loads of examples in Alton's past of them using their heads to get around noise and height limits. I'm sorry but your whole argument there is just terrible.

Then been given a 40 foot high one, that's mostly tunnels. I'm more than willing to eat my words if this thing is great, but I really can't see it being that. Don't be so over the top... Members pointing out that perhaps those photos were doctored and/or taken in situations you may never see in the park, isn't even slightly comparable to that rubbish.

I'll mirror the "it won't look that good in person, or good at all for long" and raise you a "it's a shame what's travelling through said structure will be underwhelming".
  11. Glad to see it's actually a custom layout and not just mostly the same as most of the other Gerts Bobs are, I'm actually slightly interested now!
  12. Yeah I did clock that thanks... Doesn't really matter if it was just a hasty retheme of anything to be fair, I at least thought it was great. They'll never be able to match the weirdness or the cheesiness in this new one, the clinical sounds of IMAscore almost confirms that.
  13. First time I've seen this thread in ages and I wish I hadn't... Mystery River was great and they are spiting it for some boring King Arthur rubbish?! With boring IMAscore involved?! Movie Park I defended you when everyone was mean and this is how you repay me? Bastards.
  14. Themed or not themed, it's going to wipe the floor with most if not all UK coasters. The importance of Icon for the UK industry cannot be forgotten.
  15. Completely different style of coaster than Blue Fire for a start, so it would be wrong to compare them. Icon is much more like Helix and Taron. It will not better Helix but it has every chance to best Taron. Mack > Intamin
  16. It really is saying something when somehow I manage to get even more excited every time I see Icon! Thank you for those great pictures! That airtime hill is going to offend in it's awesomeness. I still can't believe we are being treated to such a wonderful coaster, roll on opening!!
  17. Those lovely people over at TPR are going about launching a modern day version of the old Mitch Hawker poll. If you want to rep your favourites or like me want to see if the World prefers Helix or Taron, head on over to https://coasterpoll.com and get involved.
  18. That shot of the hall of spiders looks terrible, I really hope that's a before or half way done shot, otherwise damn. As for the soundtrack being changed, that's just not acceptable.
  19. There's a subtle difference between "hating Merlin" and finding the idea stupid. Maybe in the right circumstances the idea would be more well recieved? Like you said Benin, there's far worse things happening at the moment, address them, then give us a reason to want this commemorative brick thing. Having never heard of this being a thing in other parks, I'd certainly say Disney makes far more sense anyway.
  20. I may need to find a new house soon, so it's nice to know I could build my own with materials sourced from AT. What a waste of time, I sometimes think I'm immune to Merlin's stupidity, then stuff like this is announced...
  21. Not much I can add on the actual hard data side, but I'm a larger gent (not quite as impressive as pluk sadly) and I've never come close to having issues. Pleasure Beach staff are brilliant and most have been there years. So don't feel even for a second worried. There's a real, "we will do anything to get this to lock, can I crowbar you?" attitude in force. If Mouse was still running, being of a larger frame meant it tried to murder you even more! Christ I'm going to miss it.

Do what I must with said man (even though that scene isn't for me), then spend that "little bit of money" to drag the ungrateful bastard on a Gulivers crawl.
  23. Goliath, Lost Gravity and an RMC?! Nice to see the park doing a Liseberg and replacing their meh stuff with coasters more fitting. Fantastic news, very excited!
  24. If you had kids I'm sure they'd love it, not as much as they'd enjoy Milky Way however! Let's be clear though, for us big bloody blokes, it's nothing but creds. I've been waiting for a need to reply to you, just so I can say... For literal years I've seen your pic, but only just noticed the face on the monkey, it blew my f**king mind (sorry Mark), tip of my hat sir.
