Saw queue line with audio? Sounds like one of Jigsaw's traps in itself.

Your damned if you do damned if you don't. If you have people standing by the ride to interact with the customer and give information? People say that is a waste of staff time to have them positioned there when they could be utilised elsewhere. If you have no staff stationed outside the ride to interact with the customer? People would complain about the lack of attentive staff or lack of information being given to guests... It's a very fine line.

You can definitely tell Chessington has a real passionate team behind the scenes; harking back to the days when Vampire got a low budget spruce up, wasn't that purely down to some employees who wanted to atleast have an attempt at reviving it to how it used to/ should be? Whether they had a budget or no budget at all, the fact that they took the time to look at the thematic aspect of the ride is admirable. If every ride that was in a Merlin park was given that same treatment during downtime, we would see some much less sour enthusiasts.

Give a kid anything and they will try and find some way of climbing it! Like people have said there is only so much can be done before you just have to rely on adults supervising their children.
-
I've heard that they either didn't tweak it and they just altered how they measured the time (cop out option), tweaking nitrogen boosters was how it was advertised but I'm not sure how true that is (if at all), I've also heard another thing they might have done was stripping excess weight off of the train.

I find the LED's show up particularly well when going through the roll over the church, you can see them quite clearly in the queue. Got lots of attention from people when I was there.

I'm not surprised they have opted to replace the cable. I mean we don't know how regularly they replace them but they are probably going to be extra cautious from now on considering the less powerful of their two launch coasters had the incident, they definitely don't want to risk it with one of their icon rides. Obviously you can't put a price tag on safety but how much roughly would a new cable cost? If they the park could begin to start replacing them more regularly, more purse string pulling =[
-
Could be all kinds of reasons. I remember seeing in a backstage Alton towers video about Rita that the cables do understandably have a certain amount of stretch in them and this is constantly monitored; maybe Thorpe have started scrutinizing their readings more and are being more cautious; I wouldn't be surprised if they were attempting to reduce wear and tear by running Stealth on a reduced throughput just so they have enough time to make sure they have a cable on site ready or even just replace the cables now (depending on when the cables were last redone).

I do really like the ride by just thinking about it, I really do think a mistake was made when they named called it Nemesis Inferno. Giving it the Nemesis name set the ride up for a nearly impossible challenge of beating or at least matching the original and I think they would have been far better off just calling it Inferno. That isn't to say that comparisons still wouldn't be drawn, enthusiasts everywhere would still compare the two rides being the same ride type but still; less comparisons would be drawn by the GP.

I'm not quite sure how the theme additions are managed whether they are entirely done by Studios North or Thorpe's own staff have to get involved but if it is entirely down to the studio to sort out then I'd be optimistic in thinking that they wouldn't allow park engineering resources to be spread on to a project I.e. this new piece which we are seeing, which falls quite low on the priority ladder right now. As already said, while Swarm is amazing: it still has some glitchy rows of seats which is a big hit on capacity and current theming elements clearly still need work to be up to the task of day to day operation.

I mentioned in the chat last night that (just playing devil's advocate here) but had both of the belts come clean off the runners, there would be literally nothing stopping any boats going up from rolling down the hill; turning storm surge into a giant game of down hill human bowling.
-
Glad to hear at least one train now has all seats in operation. It was a big hit on the queue time for me when even two trains where in use but both had different rows out of action so staff had to move people depending on which train just entered, guests would then moan about not being able to sit together or on the same train or same side; it just got a little chaotic.
-
It was having issues parking when I went about 2 weeks ago now; a lot of people just looked confused with it bobbing around, considering it did it for half the length of time of their ride cycle.
-
They need to pull them more taught... maybe add more on to the tension weights they have at the bottom of the lift.
-
Isn't that white stuff crack detection paint? looks live they have slapped a hell load on to crucial joints.
-
It has been so long since they've been used I forget quite how much they put in to the music but when I was there last week, there appeared to be a lot of bass; could this mean they are back or just my ears just trying to make me happy?
-
This is a fair point. Well, Thorpe quite clearly are not giving the ride up without a fight if they are continuing to source parts for it from third parties; numerous other companies would be well rid of it if they had to do this. It definitely sounds like the ride is not just flawed mechanically but structurally. It is one thing to have it keep breaking down mechanically with different mechanisms (or one main one) needing replacement but if the stresses involved (and granted, they are huge) cannot be handled and "checks" continually have to be done then it sounds like some pretty critical structural parts need to be replaced entirely with something stronger.

Maybe they've just realized that doing short term fixes to open it ASAP is a loosing battle so removing it from the line up for the remainder of the season and giving it a proper strip down during closed season is far more resource efficient; maybe even send a component or two back to S&S.

Was waiting in the pod lines for the next ride on Tuesday and before I knew it midride, a lady's shoe flew off her foot and straight into the foliage behind the control cabin. It really astounded me just how fast it went and had it come towards the queue line it could have easily hurt someone. Luckily must of the queue saw it happen and learnt from the woman's experience after the operator promptly reminded everyone to secure loose articles and if they cannot be secured, especially shoes, they must be left in the boxes.
-
After being at the park on Tuesday, it did look very weird to have a ride sat there which everyone identifies as Slammer but with all its' signs removed; overhearing many people and even in the people I went there with have come to the conclusion that the ride's days must be numbered if they are removing signage from it.
-
I was in the park on Tuesday and finally got around to riding the Swarm and was really surprised at the G's it manages to pull; genuinely thought it was going to be far more mundane but those bends are very deceiving. Unfortunately, a series of effects weren't working; both water skims, the fire and the first two rows of one train's LEDs (on that note, I was pleasantly surprised how clearly you can see the LEDs in daylight, especially when doing the final roll over the station). They appeared to be having problems with specific sets of seats on both trains all day; about 3 sets on one train and maybe 1 or 2 on the other.
-
I have no concrete evidence for this but I am thinking that if the message has changed from "back soon" to "until further notice" they could be waiting on a visit from S&S to work together on some kind of long term solution for it; or just be working on it to keep it going for the long term as opposed to doing patch work fixes in the interim. It really is one of the more formidable rides at the park and I have never heard anyone not turn the corner in Canada Creek and go "oh my" or words to that effect.

I swear I read somewhere that in actual fact you are actually only meant to be barely touched by the fountains and not drenched by them as if the gondola is lowered too far into the fountains, sensors and various other components in the gondola corrode over time and lead to more and more downtime due to sensor errors and other problems. Plus, that damn panel at the bottom of the gondola has been gone for how long now?
-
Clearly people's definition of rest differs. Maybe even signs on the safety boards or separate signs just before the boarding gates which elaborate and say that the shoulder restraints are for comfort and do not require excessive force as pulling them too far down will cause discomfort and could delay loading.
-
There could be all kinds of reasons. Saw was the first ride in the park to get the on ride video system and maybe Picsolve and Thorpe came to an agreement that they did not want to invest money on the system which hadn't yet been tried or proven to generate a cash return yet. So as a taster, they installed cameras on half the cars and may at a later date, add cameras to the rest.
