  1. Agreed - definitely no re-experience-ability whatsoever. I've either done it twice or thrice since it opened, and the best way to describe it is a sensory overload πŸ˜‚ I can't see it lasting too much longer though, which is a good thing I think because the BML show building has got a really decent sized footprint and utilizing that space for Fright Nights (or perhaps an actually good dark ride... ehem DBGTROTD... albeit if they opted for the dark ride, it would be pretty bloody short.
  2. Not an easter egg... certainly just a 'nod to', or whatever other buzzword Thorpe likes using these days.
  3. To me, without the demon ending, the whole storyline is completely disjointed. Granted the 'infected' ones are the more promiment ones in the storyline, but after they got rid of the demon in the tunnel/lights on a stick schtick for Rise of the Demon - it kind of makes the demon a bit... irrelevant? They should either scrap the demon idea entirely and just focus on the people 'infected by the gas', or scrap the infected and go with the demon. 'Rise of the Demon' doesn't make any sense anymore - but to be fair, I never understood the idea of why a demon was involved when the gas was turning people infected? Really, really poor storyline.
  4. Thank the lord for that. Christ, what an eyesore.
  5. Does anyone know if the demon costume EVER gets used these days..? I visit Thorpe quite a lot (at least once a month really, would be more often if I lived nearer lmao) and I have literally never seen it in action… I can’t just be getting unlucky every time can I?!
  6. Blimey, that doesn't look good right off the back of 5 months of winter maintenance 😳 Perhaps they've finally gotten the parts for that dreaded fire effect? πŸ˜‚
  7. You know what, I was very pleasantly surprised at passholder preview day today. The walkthrough had me concerned about the state of the park, but other than Old Town (and the pathway that goes alongside SAW: Alive) being closed, there didn't really appear to be any signs of construction anywhere which is what I was a little wary of. Vibes, other than the new name and logo, appeared to be essentially exactly the same as before - albeit from the outside as I have never ventured into there. Detonator was testing but was disappointed that it was closed all day, although I do appreciate the park letting us know ahead of time which rides were going to be closed so it avoided disappointment on the day. I really do like the fact that Thorpe Park finally are starting to be transparent and keeping us all in the loop with stuff like this. All in all, it was a really good day. Good weather, good selection of rides, and after a slight hiccup for an hour or two after opening this morning, operations seemed to be pretty good too - even managed to get three rides on SAW today which is unheard of for a Saturday! High hopes for this season.
  8. Couldn't have put it better myself. Especially with the lower dome toilets, you'd expect them to have been done pretty much as soon as the winter period started - they tend to get a hell of a lot of footfall over the day for obvious reasons and having them closed with an ambiguous opening date of 'by easter' is going to be quite the inconvenience to a lot of people. Granted it's not the end of the world and there's still other toilets for people to use, but personally it's almost routine for me to get into the park and use the Lower Dome toilets before making headway for any of the rides, lol. I get that the construction at Thorpe always takes them right up until the last second, but this year feels like they've bitten off much more than they could chew, obviously. I'm not sure what the reasons were for not moving High Striker earlier in the closed season, but from the winter Monk's Walk vlogs that Jack uploaded to his channel last year - High Striker/Lumber Jump was left in place for quite a while. Like ML27 said, if these things were done right at the start of the closed season and they utilised every second of the closed season that they could, I'm pretty certain none of this would still be 'under construction', or at least would be very minimal. But, these things happen and Storm Eunice clearly did have an effect on the resort, probably more than we'll ever realise.
  9. I did notice that watching this - Kieran seemed very reluctant to pan the camera to certain areas (such as when they were talking about the dodgems roof, queue time boards and especially the new 'Vibes' restaurant not being shown at all even though it was talked about). Makes me a little nervous considering that Russ said it was filmed only days before opening, so if the Vibes restaurant is STILL not finished - are they going to open the park whilst still doing construction on it? Maybe I am being pessimistic but it seems like an awful lot of cleanup and finishing to do ahead of the official resort opening next week (especially passholder day tomorrow!) Also received an email this morning that said Detonator, Dodgems, Storm Surge, Vortex and High Striker aren't quite ready yet and therefore won't be open for the passholder day. As much as I gathered High Striker wouldn't be ready (not that I would probably ride it anyway), it's still a little disappointing to hear that there's quite a few rides still not ready - especially if there's a high turnout tomorrow, which from what I've heard tends to be the case with these passholder days. Makes you wonder just what the extent of the damage that storm eunice actually caused to the resort. Hey, at least all the coasters will be open though. Hopefully... (famous last words)
  10. Saw this on Twitter the other day. I really hope it ties up the loose ends from last season's changes. Oh, and I really hope the demon costume makes its return - man in white tshirt flailing his arms around doesn't have quite the same effect I don't think πŸ˜‚ Could this year be the year that ghost train is actually decent? Doubtful but I'll forever cling on to the hope.
  11. Around 1:17:00-ish in Silkstone's Fright Nights 2020 behind the scenes documentary video after Kieran is looking at his KA Productions easter egg poster, notice Jack cuts the footage just before Kieran starts talking about the X:\O-DUS poster... makes you wonder what they know but aren't letting on πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚
  12. I attended the passholder preview event a couple weeks back and I must admit I was slightly disappointed. It was my first Fright Nights event so held high expectations, but can't help but feel a little let down. Trailers, as incredibly themed as it was, I felt lackluster in scares. As the scenes themselves were so very small, I found the majority of the scares to be massively predictable and probably didn't jump any more than once or twice. Granted it's a new maze, and is inevitably going to return year on year judging by the amount of investment that clearly went on in there judging by the external and internal scenery, so fingers crossed it's a maze that only gets better with age. I must say, though, I was pleasantly surprised by Creek Freak Massacre and even Platform 15 after seeing it being slated by the majority of people that have visited it over the years πŸ˜‚ Hoping to get at least one more visit in before the end of the season to re-evaluate my thoughts, but ultimately felt like the things that were being hyped up the most this year (Trailers & Legacy, Legacy mostly because it has only just started so I never got the chance to see it) turned out to be quite the disappointment - certainly glad I only paid Β£5 per maze, I definitely don't think either of the three are worth the Β£10 price point.
