I still think the idea of some pre-booking "extreme" up charge type situation is the only short term future for the "experience" before it's moth balled.
 
Pre-booking & up charge means you know what money is coming in to justify the staffing and costs of powering the thing on in the morning.
 
As previously mentioned, customer feedback on Facebook is particularly awful, good comments are about 1 in 30 I'd say. 

Bring back the Arena and the 2003 Spiderman show instead.

I reckon they were just psychics who got confused between Nemesis Inferno's track and Fury 325's supports.

Sorry but not sorry for double posting, but obviously, if there HAS been a crack found anywhere, there's no way on earth that Thorpe are going to say "Yes, Premium MAP holder, much beloved for supporting the Merlin empire with your hot dogs in Thermos flask, the track has massive ruddy crack in it, sorry fella"
 

Thorpe don't want rumours about cracked track spreading let's be honest. Merlin and general theme park safety reputation since Smiler and Drayton's Rapids has been a bug bear for the tabloids desperate to cover anything that isn't how ballsed the country is.
 
Just have to wait and see. But the only Nemesis open this year now is Sub Terra, which no one really expected.

They need to bring back being asked if anyone is scared of spiders in the "plinth" room after the pre-show I think.
 
I might get to ride experience if/when I get to FRT NTS this year, otherwise, it'll be 2024 when they bring back the Demon.

I feel the fact that it isn't even referenced on the app does not bode well.

Just ask Jack Silkstone. He will deny he knows everything but in reality has know the lineup since park closed for off season last year.
 
I hope survival games returns as I didn’t get to do it last year and it look really fun. Trailers on the other hand I wouldn’t mind if that went to be honest.

The Sunday before it closed, the finale actor was wearing the costume. So that wasn’t even a change during the 4 days

I went on Ghost Train again yesterday. There's effectively no difference to the experience, beyond a different costume for the finale actor.
 
Presumably the 4 day closure was focusing more on technical aspects, to do with computer hardware for the ride system, and similar things.

The hidden door was still obvious yes. I didn’t bleed light when it was dark, but the seam around the outside of the door is still clearly visible when the lights are on. Crypt scene was still identical I’m pretty sure, by the ghoul do you mean the thing that flies overhead. If so that will still hardly visible and I nearly didn’t notice it fly over.

I’m going to be honest I don’t think anything changed at all. Or nothing notable that I recognised. There were maybe a few more pitch black moments on the first train ride and the actor at the end in the fake shop was in a jacket and tie. But apart from that nothing was changed I don’t think.

Ok, sounds good. I will report back the changes tomorrow if the attraction is open!

The fact that it's all during one week makes me wonder if it's for some sort of filming / marketing, which is why the rides are opening slightly later. Obviously lots of questions remain if that is the case.
 
Closures / delayed openings are always a pain, but ultimately 45 minutes for one coaster at the start of the day on an off peak day isn't the most disastrous case.

Cutting down the preshow and some of the scenes on the train (I personally don't feel like this is needed, but others apparently do!) Making the walk from Chapel Station to the crypt more engaging rather than just a long black corridor Repainting the colour of the runner in the crypt scene Fixing lighting on the ghoul in the crypt scene Adding something to the windows to make it feel more realistic - I don't think it'll be screens (annoyingly) because of what they've already mentioned, but curtains at the very least would solve the problem indefinitely better Audio improvements everywhere on the attraction to make jumpscares more impactful and less predictable Moving the TV screens back to where they used to be in DBGT in the fake shop scenario to fix the light bleed revealing the hidden door for the jumpscare Adding a new actor to the fake shop scene in a costume rather than the Thorpe Park uniform Adding a noticeboard outside of the attraction mentioning that it's an actor-led experience rather than a ride That's one down! I've already seen a post on the passholders group praising the adjustments, so that's awesome to hear! Anybody there today/this weekend to verify what those adjustments are? I opted not to be there this weekend as I didn't think the changes would be substantial enough to warrant another solo trip right now... beginning to regret that decision now!
 
Thorpe replied to the comment saying that there's still more tweaks to come as well - I cannot begin to express how nice it is that after all these years, Thorpe are finally listening to the general public and giving them what they want.
 
The future is definitely bright for Thorpe Park - it makes me so, so excited.

There is now some clear signage outside the ride stating that Ghost Train is an 'immersive story-led experience' and 'unlike our core lineup of thrill rides'

GST TRN seems to be continually in my socialz as a sponsored post so I like to see what people are commenting.
Seems to be universally panned by those that ride, but I think the main issue is that people don't feel it's worth it vs. the queue length, so straight away they are expecting a lot because of waiting so long.
 
I won't get to ride until Fright Nights most likely, when it'll probably be on version 3.0 and/or a special Engineering Works version for spooky szn.

I like the use of Imagine Dragon's Believer, in that it adds that little bit of humour. That smirk across your face when you hear it and put 2 and 2 together. However, you usually walk straight through this room; maybe held for a few moments at most. But it's not something you'd be hearing a lot of in any case. Being held in that room and hearing it a lot probably does detract from the vibe a bit.
 
Ghost Train does well at blending the scary bits and the humour, a bit like with the Dungeons, but it has to be careful that to hit the mark each time. It's easy to go too far on the humour, or for it to just not work if the timings are off.

Just seems that every few months there's yet another drama with either Taylor or Sarah. The very earliest one I can remember was just them being rude at IAAPA - pretty sure it was something about how B&M didn't want to engage in conversation with them (which is justified considering IAAPA is an industry conference and are therefore there to gain business, not to ponder to the needs of enthusiasts), as well as them pushing to the front of crowds to get footage for their YouTube channel.

Another one is that after the tragic incident at Icon Park, they updated the tags on their Icon Park videos to include tags such as 'Icon Park Accident' and 'Icon Park Accident Video' etc to drive more traffic to their content... obviously a very disgusting thing to profit off of such a tragedy.
 
The third thing I can think of right now is that they did a paid promotion for a payday loan company with ridiculous APR levels (I think it was like 1000% or 10,000%?), something which is actually illegal in the UK, but granted not illegal in the states - just pretty immoral to accept money from a company whos profit comes from the less fortunate.
 
Incidents like the above tend to happen every couple of months, so just keep an eye out - I'm sure they're due another one pretty soon.

The screen above the turnstiles is starting to get darker and darker, soon it will be a black screen. I get why they are doing it, but if maintenance is such an issue, why don’t they get a smaller screen or turn it off
