  1. I think the thing that makes the road markings by the dodgems seem a bit odd to me is the fact that they don't fully extend the width of the path, just seems slightly off in my opinnion. Regarding the whole sparkle project, I think that Thorpe's intention is with it is great, I love that they are investing into the maintaince of the park. However, it just seems that the execution isn't quite there; the new additions just seem a bit cheap/tacky in some places. I'm still waiting to see these in person so I can't make a full judgement yet, but for me it just doesn't quite seem it.
  2. No way they're staying with that screen for the start of the season. Just doesn't make sense to pay all that money to refresh the rest of the enterance and most of the park but leave the dodgy screen. Hopefully the new video/graphic is playing on it just to test how it will look when the new screen arrives....
  3. I kind of like the fact the they have separated the park into areas again. Like Thorpe have said many times, the areas are not going to go by their names again, but acknowledging that different parts of the park have different vibes to them and showing that with colour coding on the map is a good choice in my opinion.
  4. I think it was mentioned in one of Jack Silkstone’s videos that there would be disabled access. Given how vocal they are being about accessibility it would surprise me if there wasn’t one.
  5. I'm hoping for late mid/late April, but realistically I do think early May is most likely here. Regardless, super excited to see how menacing it seems with the lift fully constructed!
  6. Hopefully then they can use this time to take down slammer and put the place to good use before the 2025 season!
  7. That's good to hear! To be honest though, I don't really understand why everyone is worried about the trims at that point of the ride. All they are there to do is slow the train down enough so that the forces are safe, if they are needed at all. I don't get why some people are acting like they are going to slow the train down to almost a complete stop...
  8. Seems like they are going all out with the records they break for the marketing, classic merlin... Do we have any idea if Hyperia is going to get a high quality TV advert closer to opening date, or are the blog posts and social media stuff all we're going to get?
  9. We’re not gonna have the same antics with when the project would go vertical here are we… If if see this post edited when the ride opens I am most certainly not going to be pleased 😂
  10. It’s great to see thorpe doing all this work, definitely needed! Seems they have managed to find a load of spare money this season though; new coaster, new themed area and many repaints/referbs. If this money was available every closed season, why is it only now we’re seeing it being used in a positive way rather than just being kept as profits?

So we’re not getting the whole of Colossus retracked? I was always under the assumption that over the next few closed seasons everything would be done. Makes sense with the painting now though, thanks!

Does this mean that all of Colossus is not getting retracked then? I know this has probably been asked before (maybe even by me, I’m quite forgetful!) but seems counter productive to paint the track and then have it replaced with new track like a year or two later.
  13. I thought the arrow was point to Saw: the ride for a second so confused me a bit…

Tend to being the key part of that sentance in the case of Rumba Rapids. On the topic of splashing the cash, do we think that some of the project sparkle budget could be put towards the rapids. I know the majority of the park needs work done and Thorpe don't have infinite money, but they are getting old now and could do with some refurbishment/modernising in my opinion.
  15. To be honest, Vibes seems like it fits well with the ‘feel good thrills’ branding. I think the theme is quite good for the dome especially under the new TP brand idea so I assume it will stay as it is.
  16. I bet the company who they hired are laughing so much right now, I can see the conversation going on in their HQ. ’Yep, they paid us £100,000 to make their new logo and guess what, I went onto google, searched up fancy font and wrote out Thorpe Park. You’ll never guess what happened too, they were happy with it!’ In all seriousness what the hell is that though. I could have done the same in photoshop in 10 mins. I like the idea of the change in vibe of the park, and was happy with the direction thorpe park were taking, but this. Nope.
  17. I think they clarified that they are staying as Thorpe Park in the comments so no major name alternations. I think the main branding is going to move away from island theme to a feel good vibe, also straying away from extreme thrills marketing. In terms of the logo, I think anything is possible really. I feel like they may use lots of vibrant pastel colours to represent the relaxed, feel good vibe and maybe implement a piece of coaster track into the logo. In all honesty I have no idea what they could do, I was personally a fan of the island theme as it made the park unique and felt like it didn’t need changing. As they say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But regardless it is good to see that thorpe park are taking care in the future of their brand and identity.
  18. I do love it when we glid across the lake!
  19. Big Easy Boulevard is announced to take over angry birds land next season. More concept photos on Thorpe park’s instagram now

What’s the point of painting it again if part of it’s gonna be retracked anytime soon? Surely this means that they’ve given up on the retrack completely or are not gonna retrack all of the track for a while?
  21. Lots of fancy photos! I need a trip down monks walk soon!
  22. Thats true I guess, the transition will look good at the start but then begin to fade as it is exposed to the elements. Can Mack not make a support colour that fades and just ship that to thorpe or is this not possible?
  23. Thorpe park have stated that it is a 'stylistic choice' to not have the colours fade on their annual pass facebook group. They also went on to say that it wasn't due to budget cuts, making it seem more obvious that they truely think that the decision to fade the colours it the correct one. Of cource they could by lying about that, but either way in my opinnion it's not the right decision. Regardless of if its due to budget cuts or not I think it will look cheap and a bit out of place without the fade.
  24. Cool photos! Seems like they’re still getting on with it quickly. Still annoyed about the choice to not blend the 2 colours into each other though. In my opinion it will just make they ride seem like it’s cheaper.
  25. https://www.facebook.com/groups/968596764375367/permalink/1032895311278845/?app=fbl Passholders group has more photos, seems they’ve got going fairly quickly.
