		Rumba Rapids

I was genuinely asking, I wasn't going down the sarcastic route. I still stand by what I said, it's a tricky one. This isn't Rumba's first incident and I can only think the park are adding something behind the scenes so that teenagers can ride very soon and the ride will run more safely in the future. I think we've got off quite lightly to be honest. Some rides such as Dragon Challenge (which has lost the very essence of the ride) or Dragons Fury (Closed for two months and then hindered by stupid loading rules) have been affected quite badly by stupid actions from people.

		- Rumba RapidsFire away. Firstly, we could go down Adam's way of survival of the fittest. Secondly we could do what Josh says close the ride for the whole of easter. Thirdly we could ban Thorpe's target audience from the ride. Thorpe will not win whatever happens and the only good thing we can take out of it is that it is a temporary situation and once Thorpe have sorted out whatever the issue is, the restriction will be lifted. It is discrimination. However as people on every coaster forum, including TPM says "Thorpe is full of young chavs/pikeys/idiots." They can't just pretend nothing happened whatsoever and run the ride as normal and they've attempted to piss off the least amount of people they can (twice) and still look like they are tackling the issue.
- Parks, Rides And Coaster NewsGosh, the critisim here is quite bad. A few pointers. 1. The Speed. If you've ever seen an empty Swarm or Raptor train go through its circuit, it practically crawls at the same pace as X-Flight does. It's when you add the people and the theme to the trains that it starts to go at pace. 2. The Theme. Who cares if it unthemed. Outside of the station, Wild Eagle is as unthemed as anything and that has had heaps of praise put upon it. This is Six Flags, they don't necessarily have to theme their rides obsessively because they don't describe themselves as a theme park. The lighthouse will go in, if we're going to attack things when the ride itself isn't finished, then why don't we go after Swarm and its lack of LED's and fire effects too. 3. How busy is this park compared to say Gardaland, Thorpe Park and Dollywood. I've got no idea but I find it rather laughable that this is actually getting criticised for having an extra row, to you know, get extra bums on seats and to reduce the queuing time (although, thats as long as both trains are on it )
- Rumba RapidsRumba is now available to young families and older adult groups. Sorry teenagers, no Rumba for you still.
- Topspin, or not topspin? So, now you are saying they should move a ride thats already well past its sell by date, a 15 year old attraction with numerous issues, because Chessington has a family target audience. Now, I don't know about you, but I've been to Gardaland, I've been to Parque Warner Madrid and I've been to funfairs, all having top spins and all three rides are incredibly unpopular. Rameses is unpopular, Ripsaw can muster ten minute queues when Air is an hour and Nemesis is 25 minutes. We're talking about a ride that like Slammer, has good visual appeal but does not invite riders in easily. See, you hit the point here. As I've said Rameses is a great visual ride. What everyone seems to be suggesting is put it inside so you can't see what it does and that gives it atmosphere. So we're now heading into X: No Way Out territory. Doing this, requires far more space then just plonking a top spin on the Fungle Safari site. Because if you want to make it an atmospheric indoor ride, the queue ideally needs to be inside, the building needs to have lots of space to accomodate maybe animatronics, story scenes like Hex for pre shows. And then the ride itself which if we go down the giant top spin route like you suggested means we have a huge ride which is just like a normal top spin but takes longer to load and is 0/1% more effective. I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall here when I ask for someone to give me a logical reason why Thorpe needs a top spin. Everyone seems to avoid the issue that park run top spins are pretty shoddy and goes to talk about effects and giant top spins and Talocan.
- Topspin, or not topspin? It helps if your opinions hold credibility. Adding a top spin with some lights is hardly revolutionary in a park that is striving to be the best out there. Neither is adding a giant top spin when the things have already proved to be unreliable and unnecessarily large for their lack of popularity. So far, no one has really given a good enough reason for Thorpe Park to get a top spin, particularly as there's one down the road already. If you suggest a good enough excuse for Thorpe to add a tired, old ride concept, then I am all ears but so far apart from dressing mutton up as lamb, Thorpe really don't need one.
- Dragon's FuryBit confused by this. The Second MCBR has a trim break and will always slow down the car.
