  1. Ahem, it's the Gardaland topic, not the Raptor one I agree though, Italy seems to have sprung from nowhere and in quick succession are building ride after ride after ride.Benin's pic is amazing, I think I jizzed to.
  2. Woops, looks like I opened a can of worms here. You see, I agree with Ricky here, But I'm also on Benin's side becuase I feel that if you just limit yourself to discuss just the local parks (or parks you may visit soon) then we end up with endless discussions about things like what Dragons Fury's throughput is (I've posted about three times in the Fury topic alone what its throughput is for example). The beauty of Gardaland's Wing-rider is that the same company is building two similar rides in quick succession. The only times we've seen that in the UK is with Rita/Stealth and Fury/Spinball. It's almost irrelevant that Raptor is in italy because we should be taking a small interest in Raptor because it's a possible indication of what Merlin will be doing with LC12. I guess it's kind of makes the difference between a 'fanboy' and a ride enthusiast. During the closed season I was watching all these rides opening up everywhere such as Hair raiser, Cheetah hunt, Raptor, Krake, Starry Eyed-Ripper, watching Intimadator 305 being retracked and taking a keen interest in Drayton Manor's new rollercoaster because I like rides and the idea that one day I may be lucky enough to go on them. It's irrelevant that I'll probably never ride that awesome woodie in China, but because I like rides I take an interest in whats happening. And not just what Thorpe plan to do with a cheap little rubber ring ride they imported from Cypress Gardens.
  3. Right so the ride that doesn't exist yet gets 6 posts but the one thats flying high and mightily gets a measly two posts.Seriously people, Gardaland is the standard. If you actually care about more then just a little island in Staines, Raptor is the ride to discuss.
  4. This. The park wouldn't have wanted to have three family friendly rides with high restrictions. It does make me wonder whats happened at Mack for this to happen.Thankfully for Chessington, only Falls has been effected by this. Although I do wonder if Fish/Runaway/RMT will see height restriction changes to follow..
  5. Ignoring the humour in benin's post for a second, this is going to hit Thorpe really badly and couldn't be worse timed. Considering they got rid of their kiddy area in promise of a family friendly ride, to have that restriction raised and two other family friendly rides to...It makes me think there is only a matter of time before Rumba gets it to..
  6. Screw Lc12, go to the Gardaland topic and start commenting on their marvel of a ride. Because they've set the standard on the B&M wing-rider, so really, if you actually like rides (and not just Thorpe Park), go and discuss Raptor.
  7. I think I'm actually in love. That station is gorgeous, that loading looks simple, the ride is so photogenic and the interaction looks to topple Nemesis and Colossus.I'm stunned and Gardland have pulled off something magical.
  8. I think Marc was referring back to the discussion on whether it would run 3 trains..
  9. I'M COMING! 7pm sounds good to me, but (to be honest) I think 8pm might be more appropriate..
  10. It has, but no one cares about banana ride enough to comment
  11. Moaning? It's constructive criticism. They built a cheap ride that leaks all over the place. It doesn't bother me in the slightest but some might not.
  12. Wow, just wow. Absolutely stunning. Even if it rides badly that theming and the 'look' of the ride is amazing. Definitley my most anticipated ride of the year now, and thats saying something.
  13. 300 tickets is a drop in the ocean, it barely makes an impact on queue times.
  14. Merlin have a dartboard with loads of costs on it.
  15. Raptor is How sad is it that from those POV's you can see where there is buckets of hang time and doeses of air time; it's simply marvellous.Thorpe's version is going to have to do more then just take me upside down to impress.

I like you, you can be the last to die.
  17. I'll give you that one, shame that it is quite literally in a place where no one can see it especially with all the new fencing around Colossus. Is it working still?Doubly shameful that it's Colossus's only piece of true theming to
  18. Out of interest, show me a fantastic piece of theming at Thorpe that isn't just an iconic part of a ride but is just there to envoke a mood.To help you along heres a picture which isn't part of a ride but part of a restraunt. It's probably so overlooked because its so subtle...Yes it is from Chessington, but show me a few bit's of Thorpe theming to convince me that their theming is up there with the best of them.(Also using Tidal wave gas tanker and water tank will fail you because they no longer work. )
  19. I LOVE the Monkey swinger. Chessington's best ride, easily.
  20. *wont be using any lockers or leaving my loose items at a certain place anymore
  21. Go on the 23rd May, bring party poppers and birthday cake and celebrate Vortex's 10 birthday! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
  22. I kind of like the advert, although I've noticed a big trend with the Thorpe adverts is to show a lot of the park and not just the specific new ride.
  23. Last week it was 17 degrees at Thorpe, sun shining brightly and very hot. Warmer then August will be anyway . The broken handle is one thing, however theres probably a reason for everything else.
