No that would just make the normal queue longer. Fastrack is not the sodding answer to reduce queues.

Does anyone remember the old Vortex announcements, you know the one where the voice had a personality."Vortex is a very fast ride so please remain seated, hold on tight at all times.... prepare for a scare"A piece of my teenagehood died when they removed her awesomeness.

I'm with Ste on this one, this topic is titled "Your Thorpe Park", so nowhere is he in the wrong for saying what he would do with the park.

Hmm I dunno, you'd think the air-gates and rows of waiting riders would be some kind of clue that the way they are going is not the exit..

10 years is hardly old in rides terms. Rides like Grand National, Big Dipper at Blackpool and the Scenic Railway at great Yarmouth are old but a 10 year old Top-scan is not aged or past it. So what age do we deem rides not as young but as old. 5 years, 10 year, 20 years?

According to TTF, Hex, Duel and Log Flume Unplugged were closed on Tuesday due to storm damage. Duel is also still closed because of a thunder strike to the building.

There is already a sign saying Exit this side. I've had people get off the wrong side on Runaway Train and I've seen people get off the wrong side of Vampire, Inferno, Oblivion etc. Some guests just loose all sense of place at theme parks.

I'm on the edge of my seat, in fact I've been stingered by the Cobra!

Thorpe has one of the highest coaster inversion counts in the world, what more inversions could you possibly want that Saw, Colossus and Inferno don't do.
  10. Air

Mark9 replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
Or maybe, just maybe, Air is such a great concept and in it's own right is a unique, enjoyable ride.

It didn't work because you used to scan your ticket and get a ticket for a certain time. The problem being is that tickets would run out very quickly (you had to be there, as soon as the park opened basically) and the other thing being, enthusiasts would collect tickets then scan them all at once getting lots of fastrack tickets. That and it made no money...
  12. Vampire peaked at 60 minutes but was around 30 most of the dayFury peaked at 45 minutes, dropped to 10 minutes at mid-day then remained at 30 from 2 onwardsFalls 25 minutesTomb 25 minutesRunaway Train 5 minutesRattlesnake 25 minutes average. The relevant rides anyway.

Spinball doesn't work at Alton Towers. Moving it into the Black Hole tent may help reduce the stupidly long queues on even the emptiest of days, but it will still face long queues in the same way that Black Hole was always stupidly popular.

Hmm.. Maybe The thing is, unlike Thorpe Park which can have up to five rides unavailable at one time, Chessington doesn't and has had excellent ride reliability this year. Rameses has been it's only prolonged downtime so far this year (that has only been 3 days to) so may be a waste of space on the homepage for the majority of the year.

So are you saying we should only respect someone if they have made world peace? Why should I care for anything or anyone if they don't entice tranquility in the world. The thing is, Micheal Jackson bought a hell of a lot of joy into people's lifes and his music videos have inspired two generations of new artists. Regardless of what he done to his image in his later years, it's his music that will always be remembered. And rightly so.
  17. Go on the rapids.. they are very very good rapids. I also like Shockwave and Apoycalpse. Yes Drayton manor isn't spectactular but it's good to get away from Merlin every now and then.

Worst excuse ever... It's only 20.
  19. Mark9 replied to Marc's topic in UK Attractions
It's to do with the lap-bar. If you have a larger adult with a smaller child, that lap bar won't be touching the smaller kid and when you consider how much wilder/rough Rattlesnake is compared to other wild mouses, this is obviously something that could cause injury to the small kid.
  20. No comment :PRameses Revenge has joined Griffins Galleon on the unavailable ride list. Now that should definitly be on the website.
  21. Mark9 replied to Cringle's topic in Nonsense
Alan Carr! Better sense of humour :PWall.E or Jonny 5

Lift hill easyEveryone's a little bit racist or If you were gay ?
  23. Good point. On the other hand.. having operated Griffins for some time and sometimes going hours without seeing a single person at the ride I don't think many people are complaining that it's not on the website..
  24. Mystery Shoppers are guests who come into the park and evaluate how the parks performing. You get them in basically every area of business, I had them at Tesco when I worked there as well.Just to let you guys know, Griffins Galleon has been down since Friday and may be down this week as well.
  25. Juggling a job, education, moderation of the forum and the website as well as all the social things that we do means we do forget about warn stuff. If it's at 20% it really is nothing to be concerned about.
