Disneyland Paris Trip 24th - 26th April 2015
Mark9 replied to AJ 's topic in Your Planned Trips and Reports
Something about drinking alcohol in a Disney park.. just feels wrong. Walt is secretly judging you. -
Thats Towers Street copyrighted I'm afraid Benin. You'll have to come up with a different phrase.

Coaster dude, take off those employee glasses for a second, look beyond all the corporate rubbish they fill your heads with during training and inductions and start to look at the bigger picture. One train operation, endless budget cutting, cheaper additions to the park has an effect. We've already seen what a bad year has done to Thorpe in 2012 (change of target audience, Rushed additions backed up by IP's, a park completely lost in what its identity is) or what ten years of neglect did to Chessington (Near death of a young girl, rides closed and tonnes of theming removed). Merlin do have some excellent stuff, their rollercoasters for instance are pretty impressive, the way the Smiler was advertised was genius and I do still believe The Swarm is far better and deserves more credit then it currently gets. But's it's completely wrecked by some of the poor decisions made in an office somewhere with the way the parks are run and how information is communicated down to the guests. My final note is ten years ago, Tesco was top of the tree, dominating everything around it. And now look at it. It's very easy to get big headed at the top but pride normally comes before a fall.

The second lift hill already slows down on a three train operation. If the staff in the station are quick the train would slow to a crawl on the 2nd lift hill before speeding up when the break run is clear. Yes it does speed up loading. It also costs more to have two/three staff members in a room and I'd rather have staff working on a platform. Lets face it, throwing a bag over into a cupboard isn't as time consuming as is being made out.

I believe Burton isn't directing the Alice sequel. What like Inside-Out. And Ant Man. And Tomorrowland. And The Good Dinosaur. And Moana. And Zootpia. None sequels or remakes =)

Inconsistent mist at that.

Yeah thats cool. Nice enough restaurant. As long as the food is of decent quality and the track layouts so to speak are interesting, this will be a winner.
-
Fits like a glove then.
-
I'll take Piraten or Javelin personally.
-
It's average at best. A sheer waste of an opportunity.
-
Ok then.. The seats on Row 1 and Row 7 are the same yes. The larger seat is on row 4. You can tell that because it has two seatbelts, the rest have one seatbelt. B&M's don't have adjustable seatbelts and they never have.

I'm thinking once this opens, might need to give you and Baron some privacy.

Colossus has a history littered with one train operation. From its first season of its restraints being changed, 2003 where it spent the whole last two months of the year on one train, till now, it seems to be the norm that it has train issues.

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
Mark9 replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
I think it's just us. Ask the average theme park visitor how their day is going and they are probably going to answer positivity. Theme park forums, Facebook and twitter are not really representative of what is really going on. Do you ever stop and think that things like one train operation on rides or the odd retheme are actually small fry compared to the massive problems that are at the heart of Merlin. -
If Thorpe play their cards right, this deserves to be a success and is exactly the kind of thing the park should be doing.
-
I hope there's enough going on in that building to justify all the excitedness. I'd hate for it to be style over substance

Well firstly the Dueling Dragons incident was where the two blinding incidents took place. When it happened back in 2011, the park stopped the rides duelling. Something else must have happened for the resorts four rollercoasters to now all have metal detectors placed in. I'm amazed that you think Dueling Dragons encouraged coins to be thrown at the other trains. It was actually a technical masterpiece in which two different B&M inverters went round their own courses and on three encounters 'duelled' with each other. Pictures below.
-
I don't think you can really put a price on peoples lives Ian. Two people blinded for life. Any park would be forced to make changes, especially in America where sue culture runs rife.
-
I wonder what the reasoning behind it really is. Parks don't just go down this route for fun after all, something drastic must have happened for this knee-jerk reaction.

Yes when it comes to Baco, I am all woman. But not the giving birth thing, I'm sure that hurts more then Baco but only slightly.

It's more the use of 'get over it' then the Apple put down that I find rude. Maybe you should go back to your old Blackberry if it lasts three times as long.

This is the thing right, they aren't even trying. Back in the years of the throughput challenges, Tomb Blaster was aiming for 1000pph and sometimes it actually made it, most of the time it got very close. Same with rides like Rattle, Fury, Falls and Runaway, they were all being pushed to get through as many people as possible. Now it's like they are aiming low deliberately so visiting on a quiet day is the only real option anymore.
