Think 100 rooms is an ideal starting point. Thorpe need to use their location to their advantage with the upcoming universal park.

People travelling in from abroad will naturally flow through London, and thorpes best move would be to have means of getting to and from the hotel easily from the airport as a way of harvesting the traffic en route to universal.

Interesting to see what happens next

So I've done some more digging. There's a fuller info piece on our site: https://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/index.php/2024/11/07/is-a-thorpe-park-hotel-about-to-start-construction/

In short, the hotel isn't planned to start construction yet. The park created a business case internally, and needed architects to create visuals. The company involved had on their website that construction would start in late 2024, but either this was incorrect or plans changed, and that has been removed. It will fit in with the park's development strategy.

Simply put, we aren't seeing a hotel start building tomorrow. But it certainly seems the idea is alive again.

I'm thinking this is preparation for the long term future and could be built to coincide with the next rollercoaster investment.

With Universal on the horizon, the park being in the middle of Legoland and Chessington, the potential for concerts and events with Project Pivot and the potential draw of an RMC if it's the direction they're going in, it'd be a no brainer to have a proper on site hotel.

I personally don’t mind its design and feel. Reminds me a lot of the Barbican and those are some sought after houses.
The thing is with Thorpe having a hotel is tricky especially in the off season, with Heathrow so nearby and lots of places avalible for conferences etc it was always seen as a major risk to build a permanent hotel structure. If this does go ahead I wonder if a midway attraction will be built in one of the car park areas or the old farm to make it feel more resorty.

I'd love to see an indoor water park with a focus on thrilling water slides and attractions and more adult friendly facilities for Thorpe Park as it would complement the park really well.

I also think having facilities such as crazy golf would be fantastic but I think it needs a headline year round attraction alongside the hotel.
