My retheme of a ride is a retheme of Air. I never much understood the main theme of air...and always thought of it as a poor theme for a flying coaster. I have now re-themed it so it is similar to Nemesis - lets be honest, the greatest ride in the world. Air has now been given a lick of red paint for the track and steel grey for the coaster trains. Similar blood red rivers will flow around the ride and one or two more tunnels. The back story to this ride is that Nemesis has broken free from the chains that bound and tamed it, and is now unleashing its fury to where air is occupied. Therefore it has been tied down with steel and rock once again, and you can ride the beast a second time. The name for the ride is "Adrasteia - From whom there is no escape" This is another name the greeks gave to the godess Nemesis. This doesnt mean that Nemesis or Adrasteia are greek themed rides. They just have names that suit the charecteristics of the beast. Posted Image

I have decided to retheme Colossus.Posted ImageFor 2011, Thorpe Park introduce Lolossus. With their decreasing popularity amongst fans, they decided something needed to be done. Though Colossus was due a retrack and repaint in 2010, they cancelled in February following the closure of the fan site SouthParks. Instead, they decided to give it a retheme that suited fans interests. However, because SouthParks had closed, they could not look through it to have what fans thought would be a better name - so they decided to look through here. However, they could not find a name fans thought would be better. However, they found that a lot of fans (past and present) used the name 'Lolossus' - so they felt it was the best name. Of course, the park couldn't decide on a new logo. However, they found a spare 'L', as the designers (like many others) thought the first incarnation was spelt 'Colossus'. This meant they could paste this 'L' over the 'C' - Lolossus was officially born. The ride itself features a new soundtrack, possibly getting rid of one of the better audio tracks the park had. The short loop features many people saying 'LOL' in strange ways along with some obviously faked laughter. Even a short queue means you hear the loop at least 5 times. The whispers have also gone; you know longer hear each loop. Instead, you hear 'LOL' said in many different forms, and much louder than the original whispering noise. The retrack went ahead - but due to a budget cut, they didn't get new track, just some old Intamin track from defunct rides clambered together. A repaint also went ahead. A slightly darker beige covered track and lighter blue on the supports (though it is very easy to come off) . They were planning on changing the entire track beige and the supports blue, but gave up the end, due to not having enough paint due to the budget cut. However, the painters got bored so used some permanent marker to write 'LOL' on random parts of the ride. Hope you enjoyed. :P

Bubbleworks! The current theme is kept, but with far more emphasis on the bubbles and little on soap and ducks. Well, I had to choose Bubbleworks, didn't I?:D

The exterior is decorated with a very Transylvanian feeling with old fashioned lamps on the walls, misted windows and patches of brick work on the facade. The queueline entrance is relocated back under the main archway, with the queue running around into the small cattle-pen section infront of the tower and then back around the corridor where new cloister structures are built. The display boxes replaced with slightly misted windows with a dim light flickering behind it. The ambient music currently used in the station is played in this area to give a sense of fun mystery as riders queue in the dark, lamp adorned shelter. The line then goes into the station building, but a new structure is built over the inside queueline to continue the winding corridor (similar to the dark alkway before the Vampire station). The old Bubbleworks fanfare is restored, as the line goes out of the corridor, under a portcullis with bent spikes for theming purposes and into the station (pictured below). The skyline is replaced with more dancing window sillouettes, which should give lots of life to the look of the station. The walls are patterned with stone work and the lamp posts currently in place are kept. Above a large moon with the face of a Bubblehead hangs just underneath the cieling, slowly turning left and right.Posted ImageThe posters are replaced with new ones, such as the 'World's Largest Bubble!' and 'Bubbleworks under new management' pictured. A Heritage plaque with Professor Burp's name is seen as a hint to the old ride.Posted ImageThe boats go past the newly rethemed office, where the Head Bubble Conductor is on the telephone as he rocks in his chair (obviously his appearance is a nod to Professor Burp, but it is not the same character). A rubber duck, redesigned with a bow tie and bubble hair to look more lovable, quacks as the boat goes past and the Bubblehead in the bath remains.Posted ImagePosted ImageSigns point into the first factory scene as the 'Training Room', where Bubbleworkers are being taught 'Bubble Chemistry' in which a Head Bubbleheada blackened face stands over a set of zany looking experiments that seem to be popping out of control (with more immersive theming than the current scene, such as a Bubbleworker popping his head up from behind the blackboard and a bubble on a globe with the words 'World Pop-ulation'; some workers are operating the machines in the Bubble Booth as well as the Foamer and the giant taps (retained from the current ride); and a bubbleworker is seen being handed a trophy and the Head Bubblehead badge as he dangles from the floating cow.The Tickle Test scene is sign posted as the 'Bubble Genoration Department' where the products are made. The giant footed thing is producing the bubbles with the aid of a feather duster, as cogs and wheels spin above him being 'turned' by the bubbles being made. The 'Soap Sud Cylinders' have signs such as 'Poppy froth' and 'Bubble zingy tingle foam!', with the crashed one at the end 'Inflammabubble!'. On the right, the Head Bubble Conductor (once again you do not see his face) reads out orders from a large list as he stands in front of many pipes - for theming purposes.Posted ImagePosted ImageThe Rub-A-Dub Department remains very similar, but with smoke bursting from pipes on the Reactor and a new 'Anti-pop liquid' machine underthe newly rethemed 'Pop pressure gauge'.The smiley bubble now has posters advertising 'The World's Largest Bubble - unpopped since 1990!', hinting back to one of the station posters. Posted ImagePosted ImageThe Hawaiian room is completely refurbished, with welded metal theming on the walls and a nice purple atmosphere - 'The Testing Room'. New scenes include: 'Bath Bomb testing' in which a giant bomb (in the style of a bath fizz ball) is lowered into a metal bath which includes flashing lights and explosion sound effects; Fast Fizz Foam in which Bubbleheads are spinning out of control in the jacuzzi accompanied with "How much you put in?!" sound effects; a large vat of 'Whooshing up liquid' with a Bubblehead refilling his jetpack; and a Bubble Cannon launching a Bubbleworker prop along a thin wire above riders heads, working on air pressure.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImageThe 'Foamburst Falls' scene is similar to its current form, but the centerpiece replaced with a large ship in which a Bubbleworker wearing an eyepatch holds the wheel of the damaged ship as it bobs up and down. The lighting in this scene is very dark. The boats then go through a 'waterfall' which works with a projection onto a spray of mist, similar to an effect of Pirates of the Carribean, which leads to the underwater scene.Posted ImageThe Rubber Duck Hatchery is also completely refurbished with an underwater theme, with a few water drop effects hidden from view as you go in. The lighting is very dark and gurgling bubble sound effects accompany music previously used in the 'Hic-cups' scene on the original ride. All props are illuminated with heavy black lighting to avoid any walls being lit up where they shouldn't. A Bubbleworker wearing a diving suit swims up and down; another swims overhead; zany-looking fish with bubble hair and colourful features bob up and down; and after the boats turn into what was previously the ‘Dunking Ducks’ scene, the wreck of the ship seen earlier in Foamburst Falls lies on the bottom of the ocean with a skeletal Bubblehead still turning the wheel, whilst other bubbleworkers with diving suits bob up and down. Two treasure chests are seen: one with a bucket bouncing on a spring in it – ‘Spring Water’ – and another with a bucket with a disco ball hidden in it – ‘Sparkling Water’! There are Atlantis-style pillars for theming effect. A bubbleworker preparing to dive in is seen above (with a scrim to give the effect that he is above the water surface), before the boats go underneath and into the strobe tunnel. The Fairground is much the same as it has always been, but with music on full loop and new Transylvanian house facades on the walls. Many of the ducks are replaced with the redesigned version or bubbleworkers. The Helter Skelter, Duck N Dive rollercoaster, Merry-go-Pop and Hook a Duck remain. A punk music band (bubbleworkers with wildly styled bubble hair and instruments) play on a rotating platform in ‘Pop Music’; the Egg-ometer currently used is now the 'Jackpop!' - a hammer and bell game with a bubbleworker having a go; and the cogs that spin above the archway are being turned by a bubblehead to generate power for the rides. Posted ImagePosted Image The Loading Bay remains the same, but with the soap bottles labelled ‘Chessington Bubbles’. Signs warn of danger as the boats travel into the darkness of the lift hill. The same dramatic music currently used is played as sirens and worried bubbleworkers are seen. The giant plughole and hanging plug remain as the boats plummet down into ‘Bathtime!’ The fountain finale’s walls once again have mirrors to create the illusion that the area is bigger than it is. The Head Bubble Conductor’s face is at last seen as he stands on a central podium shouting, “It’s amazing! It’s the bubbles! Poptastic!” dramatically over the triumphant music that was originally used in the scene. Bubbleheads play stylised instruments with water shooting from them as they stand on the podiums. The scene has got to be as magical as it can get with lighting, water and sound effects. Posted Image The boats then calm down and float into a stone work castle (as if going back into the factory) under a portcullis with bent spikes. The last scene is the same, with music currently used in the fountain finale, and the fireworks actually shoot upwards with the help of hidden air pressure cannons. Well, that is that! I did start this retheme idea a while ago, but have not finished all the concept art yet. Not that I want Bubbleworks to actually turn into this, but it would be great if it got a refurbishment like the one I have designed.

Whoa that was long!!!:P
