Tom
Evidently missed the 5/6 hour queues of opening weekend... On the other hand, it DOES mean an empty California Screaming AND Tower of Terror, which can only be considered a good thing I am aware. Its continued popularity is seen with that wait. Well Tower of Terror saw a 75 minute wait on this day, Toy Story Mania was 75, and California Screamin' was 45 Not sure what time of day. But yeah. A-Kid
Cars Land and Radiator Springs Racers is amazing. We queued 2 hours with Fastpass on opening day and we were there for opening at 7.30am. Was well worth it. It broke down for about 45 mins of that though. They limit the amount of fastrack so litrally by 9am the tickets had run out. We got both sequences of the ride in our 2 times riding it. Both epic. The anamatronics are AMAZING inside! The queue peaked at over 6 hours at one point, through a massive extention that spand over the Pacific Warf Bridge then partly over the Paradice Pier bridge!Tower was only so long because tower 3 broke and then later on tower 2 broke. So it was on 1 tower for some time. It broke right when we were at the front of the queue luckly. Running on 2 towers most of the time though. The rest of the park ended up very reasonable with everybody stuck in CarsLand!Even that rammed, we got on everything we wanted to. The park is so pretty and perfect now. Love it! California Screamin' though very tame, is so much fun. Edited July 23, 2013 by Tommy Fastpass not Fastrack

Topsyturvy15
What sort of queues does the California Disney get in August? Got a family holiday with a couple of days in America, will try an get down there for a bit
Tom
Depends how late in August, because some schools go back before the last week so it's not too bad, ie 25 minutes for Space Mountain. But in the weeks before you would see it around 50 minutes at peak time. This is also a good tool to use if you remember to over a month beforehand! I find it's pretty accurate! Topsyturvy15
Ah thanks, so even in early August were talking around an hour for big rides? A lot better than UK parks if that is the case!!!
Tom
Well Disney are throughput gods and the fastpass system is great. Even if it is busy you can get on a lot in a day if you plan it right and use the fastpass system well. Expect big queues for Radiator Springs Racers though, even in its second year it will be super busy.
Topsyturvy15
Okay thanks, so how does the fast track system work? I remember from Paris that its free and you collect a half an hour slot but how do you get the tickets and can you do it for all rides? Thanks

Tom
Cheeky micechat link. Yeah it's the same system as Paris and all the Disney parks. Edit: On another note! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is now closed for its extensive 10-month refurbishment project which will bring new ride vehicles, track replacement, show upgrades and mountain repainting. Oooooooh. Deleted Users
Indy's opening scene got an update out of nowhere a few weeks back. Mara's voice was changed back to it's original a few days back due to bad feedback I believe. Pretty happy about the update since originally the 3 rooms were not too different. Observatory looks great now. Old voice, new visuals:
Benin
I can see why they changed it back, that new voice was absolute CRINGE... The old voice also sounds like Vincent Price to me... Dunno if that's right though... He was involved with Phantom Manor so he might have done other work for Disney parks...
Deleted Users
Quite a lot of people seem convinced the new voice was Neil Patrick Harris and the old one was James Earl Jones but I have no idea what their sources are.

Matt 236
I don't like it, sort of ruins the character that area used to have. Quite a shame really, I hope they do carry out further pointless changes regardless of its limited space as it's just ruining the charm of the place. Jack F
So this picture just got released... (might be a little to big... sorry...) Â Â Other than it being beautiful and perfect for a dual monitor wallpaper, it is the concept art for the new, rerouted rivers of america! The train will go over a bridge, by some nice pretty waterfalls and the Mark Twain and Columbia will pass by the same things it currently passes by, but moved around, and "reimagined". Also, I believe the bridge to the right is the entrance to star wars land
Matt 236
Well, this looks visually stunning to say the least. I bet by 2019, DLR will be even more wonderful with this reimaged area and the new Star Wars. A fair few attractions will be closed this year though including the railroad, Fantasmic, Mark Twain Riverboat and the ranch (which is getting demolished). As a result I expect the park will really buckle this year during busy days.
Mark9
California Disney always has far more rides closed then Paris or Florida. During my time there, Pirates, it's a small World, Alice in Wonderland, Nemo and Friends and Grizzly were all closed. This is only being reported because of the massive Star Wars investment and the fact that Fantastmic won't be on for a year.
Tom
I went a month ago and no rides were closed at all I went in February 2013 and absolutely no rides were closed across the resort except for Big Thunder Mountain which is more of a filler in DLR anyway
