  1. Past hour
  2. At least they stated what's going on instead of flat out saying ''it's closed'' Hopefully back up soon but probably won't be going for a little bit after my next visit in a couple of days.
  3. Today
  4. Ha no worries! Yes nothing at all from Stealth again today. A member of staff stated it’s awaiting a part. Hopefully it’ll be back in the next few weeks
  5. Just realised that... my mate runs that account so he'll be getting words off me lol
  6. That’s from the @Thorpepork account. Not Thorpe’s official twitter
  7. Thorpe themselves.... Whether they ditched it last minute and thus no action or whatever, I don't know.
  8. Where did you hear this? It’s not looking like it will.
  9. Wait apparently Stealth was gonna open today...
  10. Skyride is down today. Staff saying it will 'hopefully open later' which is no good once I've already walked to the other side of the park 😒 Edit: Also, it's very sad to see Toxicator's queueline scratched-up with graffiti.
  11. For sure! Hopefully it’ll be back within the next few weeks
  12. Exhibit A: DigitalDan's most recent video
  13. Add in customs faff too. But means the influencers can up their views a bit by creating "OMG PANICK" videos.
  14. If only Thorpe had an Argos type catalogue and sent for the part by Royal Mail 1st Class
  15. So to bring some additional clarity to the situation... -The park are awaiting a part. This is evident by the fact staff aren't working on it actively. This means it'll be closed a while. Even when the part arrives, they will require time to test it. -It is likely a bigger / more expensive / specialist part, hence why the park didn't have one already. This takes time to acquire; it's not like they ring up Intamin and say "Can we have 1 [thing from catalogue] please?" and Intamin ship it out the next day from their warehouse either. -Time frame is unclear at the moment. How long is a piece of string. -Thorpe have no intention of getting rid of Stealth.
  16. They must still be waiting for a part then. Wouldn't be worth having a train on the track if it wasn't going to be worked on.
  17. I’m at the park today, no action from Stealth at all. No train on the track, no staff working on it. Music still playing in the plaza, it’s a little eerie! Don’t think it’ll be seeing any action today by the looks of things.
  18. Someone on another forum reckons after talking to GS it's waiting for a part and might be another month yet.
  19. Yesterday
  20. I'm at the park on Thursday so might see what's going on then
  21. Doesn’t look like it opened at all again today. Am going to the park tomorrow, so will take a look then
  22. Has there been any action today?
  23. End up with Zamperla parts instead...... 🫣
  24. Last week
  25. Agree with the posts that there’s nothing to worry about as such. As for intamin supporting it I wouldn’t be surprised if the help offered if more limited now but I’d be surprised if they got no help at all. Merlin also have 3 of these coasters so I expect the internal knowledge of them is very strong. It seems they are actively working on it so hopefully will see it back up and running soon.
  26. So, Stealth is suspected to be an issue with the launch mechanism, which is difficult to fix since Intamin discontinued it and stopped support on existing accelerators. It is a very difficult issue for them to repair without the help of Intamin so Stealth could be a lot longer closure. Keep in mind I got this from a friend who knows maintenance staff. With Rita, the issues is with the catch car rather than the main launch system. Rita is expected to be open within the next week or two. To summarise, Rita most likely 1-2 weeks closure. Stealth I’d imagine will be later in the month, so opening for the latter I’d estimate to be, like 16th May onwards from the information I have, KEEP IN MIND THIS COULD CHANGE.
  27. I've had my suspicions all but confirmed in that Stealth's and Rita's are indeed unrelated. Thorpe will do their utmost to keep Stealth going, and I don't think we're anywhere near the point where they're considering getting rid of it. For those old enough to remember, Thorpe literally clung onto dear life with Slammer. It was closed more than it was open for a couple of years. S&S stopped manufacturing parts, so Thorpe sourced things elsewhere. They dedicated a lot of money and man hours into getting the thing running. Only once it had absolutely gone past the financial point of no return did they give up the ghost. And Stealth is obviously different; it is still such an iconic ride for the park, is a genuine reason that people visit, and generates money from merch sales. I'm not saying to take Stealth for granted, but at this point, there is no reason to think Stealth is facing an imminent closure in the next couple of years.
