Fright Nights 2026 - 25 Years of Fear
Thorpe's definition of a scare zone has always been...confused. I remember when Blair Witch first opened and they marketed that as a scare zone. But it could handle the crowds and basically always operated as an outdoor scare maze. Even in 2020 when they had loads of zones, things like Swarm Invasion and the Lycanthorpe zone had very very minimal theming. Their biggest zone successes have come in the forms of Crows and Deaths Doors, which have operated like high-throughput mazes. Their other zones have relied on shows to do the heavy lifting, which is fine, but yes, they need more to bring it to life. One of my peeves in recent years is how Creature Campus is non-existent outside the show, and it just feels like a missed opportunity. Lucifer's Lair almost always had something going on, even if it was just the actors roaming. This year may be more a struggle for that zone. Part of me wonders if they've effectively split Lucifer's in two, with Rebel Ball taking the shows, etc.

Minecraft World - New for 2027 at Chessington
Construction has been going along at a steady pace and the exterior track has been going into place this week:

It would certainly be sod's law if the ride experienced prolonged downtime and couldn't open for an event specifically for it, and just before the park's busiest time of the year.
- Yesterday

Stealth
Hasn't opened at all today. I'm beginning to think we could have a lengthy closure coming. I'm supposed to be going to the event on the 28th. I'm guessing they would re schedule it.

Stealth
It rolled back in the morning yesterday, opened for the last half hour of the day and was running very slowly. It stayed closed all day today. Clearly an issue with it at the moment but could be a number of different things and difficult to say how long it'll be till its resolved.

Stealth
Would anybody happen to have any info regarding why Stealth is down. I know it's rolled back twice now. I'm supposed to be going to the 20th anniversary event too.

The Walking Dead - The Ride: SPOILERS
Noticed that Thorpe Park’s YouTube channel has not only been purged of all videos pre-2017 and of those featuring IP they don’t have the rights to anymore (Angry Birds, I’m a Celeb, Derren Brown, and Black Mirror), but also those featuring The Walking Dead IP, so yeah this attraction is, no joke, no lie, no doubt about it, no bs, about to die.

Stealth
Down as delayed opening today and yet to open...

Stealth
Because what really happened is what really matters.

Stealth
At the end of the day, they didn't exactly like whether it'd reopen or not so why put something on the app leading people to believe something when something different actually happens ✌️✌️
-
Stealth
and so say this, it’s not about ride issues… it’s about keeping disclosures IN LINE.

I know that. There still must be something wrong with the hydraulic system that must have caused the earlier rollbacks. All it needs is to either reopen or be “closed all day”, so as to let other people know. Remember may 27th 2026, stealth said delayed opening all day and had still not opened that day. It was confusing and annoying.

Stealth
Sir, it can't just fix itself just at the drop of a hat, they need to take time to actually find/rectify the issue before getting it back up again...

Stealth
Still closed now. Stealth really does know that a paid for event is coming up doesn't it 🙃

By the looks of it, its had another rollback this morning 😅

Fright Nights 2026 - 25 Years of Fear
The zones need significantly more theming or actors to be advertised as a scare zone. If lucifers lair loses the main stage and keeps the same amount of theming it would be bad. I appreciate you don’t want to spend money on an old scare zone. It doesn’t need to be immersive just bigger and more things going on. It could look quite sad with a small stage

Just in time for it's 20th birthday! 🙃

Interesting! I think that may be the first rollback this season, it happened quite a bit last year in the mornings when it was running slow, but they seemed to have changed the loading prosecure in the mornings now to prevent this, by loading fewer seats initially and then slowly increasing. The fact that it didn’t reopen today after the rollback does suggest there was an issue, but there are loads of reasons why a rollback can happen, so it’s difficult to say whether it’s anything serious or not. Hopefully not!

Stealth
Just before 2pm today, Stealth did a rollback. Hopefully it's not too serious. Does anybody know if it is? I mean a rollback usually isn't good

2026 Season
Interesting report Mattymoo; Today, Monday 14th September, it looked like it was a low attendance which showed with some of the q's. At one stage Stealth had gone technical and I saw that Nemesis Inferno, Swarm and Hyperia were also closed, with Colossus' train stationary at the top of the lift hill. Not brilliant.

2026 Season
Hyperia & Swarm were "Delayed Opening" this morning. I had a screenshot uploaded just now and then looked again and Rush was added to the list 😄 No idea why TWD is having so much downtime currently but there were definitely a lack of effects when we rode (and I swear blind we heard the Inferno audio whilst riding on two occassions). I also fear that Stealth's 20th anniversary could be a bit of a damp squib with the way it's been behaving recently.... # Just spotted also that Quantum & Storm Surge are down. Vortex & Zodiac - ahhh, just remove them from the app and pretend they don't exist. Incredibly amongst all this, Ghost Train is up and working with a 15 minute queue.

Fright Nights 2026 - 25 Years of Fear
Quick update: https://www.facebook.com/thorpeparkmania/posts/pfbid04oZqhh1mAwhagY1x2aU1uqTHZX1GTjtw6EmRjjhnypT58ZiMvoXMZNyM9NhGGbDpl Lucifer's Lair will be scaled back this year it seems, with just the small stage there. Will be interesting what exactly happens there. It does seem like Rebel Ball could 'take' the entertainment from Lucifer's Lair which would be an interesting choice. The Crows could take quite a large space under Inferno based off how far the construction fences go back too
