Its definitely noticeable now, it's a little rougher and jolty in my opinion, especially as it warms up and from row 4/5 onwards, but doesn't detract from the ride experience too much. I do wonder if this is a long term solution or just temporary? I got on Helix on the weekend just gone for my first time, which is over 10 years old and it was glass smooth in comparison. Also, watching the ops on Helix makes me so glad we don't have seatbelts on Hyperia š¤£

I mean it wasn't exactly valleying every week last year so who knows. Think it's been as unreliable as most things under the Merlin umbrella.

Iāve learned today that apparently Hyperia has had some of its wheels replaced with nylon ones, resulting in the trains maintaining higher speeds for longer through the high points (and a shorter time to complete the circuit of course). With no sign of any reoccurrence of the valleying issues for several weeks now, could we finally be in the ābusiness as usualā phase, with the ride running reliably and consistently? I guess itās still too soon to say, but hereās hoping.

Iām at the park on Tuesday. See if I can find anything out or see anything going on.
-
I was hoping it was sign but as you said it was there Thursday then I thought maybe they wonāt be testing it yet. Was the crane in the exact same place when you last seen it?
-
I got a bit excited and thought that picture you sent was it testing lol
-
Ah right, thatās interesting š

That was there on Thursday when I went

Hi Jax, thereās some kind of red machine there today and they have closed off all the ride area for now. I suppose itās a great move forward but Iām clueless to what there actually doing. I feel like it wonāt be too long until theyāll have her up and running. Iāve uploaded an image.

I wouldn't be too sure. They just stick random dates there. What's the availability like after that?
-
The app has one shot Fastrack available for Stealth from 1st June onwards - maybe hints at the expected timescale?

Anybody know the full list of tunes played in the Detonator queue line?

Thanks Josh, great news to hear!

I did a Hyperia coaster climb this evening. There was some chatter when it was made live about the cost being expensive (Ā£120). It is, no beating around the bush. But it is worth it. My experience was about 3hrs all in, and included lots of time spent scaling the ride, time spent in the console and time spent around the turnaround outside the station, with lots of opportunities for photos, fabulous hosts and a great vibe. Find attached a variety of photos (of me). I'll write a proper TPM article later.

Good to see there's a bit of action going on (albeit small) but at least we know there's something going on.

Ah glad to hear! That wasnāt there on Tuesday at all. The doors to the launch werenāt open either.

Just to make it clear, Intamin have in no way stopped providing support for their Accelerators. Whilst it's true they don't offer the model any more (or at least, no one has considered doing so for over a decade), it in no way means they've washed their hands of it. Thorpe/Merlin and Intamin maintain a respectable working relationship, and that is also related to the current issue(s).
-
Thanks, I'm probably guessing with Stealth that it's a quite big sophisticated part that's gone wrong maybe hence the crane unless it was for something to do with the track. At least we know that Thorpe won't be giving up on their ride though. I'm sure we all know that an LSM launch just isn't really anything quite like a hydraulic launch. I do prefer that massive g force

Thanks again Jax, brilliant advice

The crane yesterday was in the middle of the Stealth plaza facing towards the top hat, so it may well have been. I wouldn't be surprised if the support for these older models is more limited now but I'd be surprised if Intamin providing no support at all. You'd be right in saying that the part needs to be sourced elsewhere, but hopefully it shouldn't be too long now.
