Fright Nights 2016
Welcome to the forums! For me I'd probably say Cabin in the Woods - for the first half of the maze there's no set route as such - some doors take you onwards some take you to a dead end and some take you back to the beginning! That said it's a "free flow" maze so no hands on the shoulders of the person in front of you! Infact I think this year Saw Alive is the only one where you have hands on shoulders (unless it changes for this year) so that maybe your best bet to start! Hope you enjoy!

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
I doubt "Merlin" would have got involved in smaller details like that TBF - it would of been Simworx / Figment etc who would of spec'ed up any equipment needed and for them to work out how it works. Sure the trains get warm but ive been in much warmer server rooms!

Colossus
Was running fine on Saturday on 2 trains - I saw it went down yesterday morning and was back up late afternoon.

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
The rides been closed for 2 weeks - I think it's safe to say it's nothing to do with the weather. Ive ridden it on very hot days - the building gets hot but I've not sure what evidence we have to say it's actually causing issues?

Containment
I really don't understand what your getting at? If people are happy to pay £10 then it would be abit silly to charge less!
-
Logger's Leap
It don't look much different to it does in a normal closed season! I wouldn't look to much into that although I'm not to confident it will return
-
Park Operations
The reliability and throughput will improve - the ride has years yet to make a return on its investment!

Alton Towers General Discussion
Tbf this is just a modern version of people at the entrance selling it. I've not got any real issues with it as long as it comes out of the allocations (which im certain it will).

Alton Towers General Discussion
According to a member of towers street the new towers app has a new feature where when you approach a ride it will offer you to buy fastrack on your device using Apple Pay. I know everyone dislikes fastrack but much better than the crazy queues to buy it!

Fright Nights 2016
Im not saying any of these events are better / worse than eachother but Thorpe hit capacity on a number of times last Fright Nights which suggests to me the GP are still enjoying the offering.

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
I think it went down last Saturday so a week now.

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
The fact your planning to visit in less than a month would suggest the problems are not all that huge! The downtime on Ghost Train is unfortunate but its not really un-expected. As for the other rides i dont think its been a particularly bad year - apart from Stealth which is obviously a fairly major issue for it to close so long!

Opening Times
The park is set to open throughout September now (apart from Wednesday 28th for staff training) after previously being advertised as closed on these dates

Bubbleworks
For the record i wasn't disagreeing with anything you say regarding old / new Bubbleworks - I was merely getting at there will be people who genuinely do enjoy these tours - and if they do thats fair enough IMO. https://www.chessington.com/press/downloads/2016/Bubbleworks-Auction-Catalogue.pdf - link to whats on sale from the ride.
