This picture shows the old street lights that are still there today!

You mean the basic inversions?
-
One train launching faster than the other? This seems to be happening more and more, I've noticed. Hmm...
-
Mark, you're on the right track - and may I also add that Saw isn't the best coaster to come out of Thorpe. Look at it's inversions, very basic, except for 3 different sections which I rather like.

The oil at the top of the lift hill doesn't look so bad as in previous years. From Slammer's side it's OK, maybe a bit worse from Saw's side. What gets me is the way that cable powering it is partly cable-tied and partly dangling!
Has it always been this loud?Sand-filled supports for a 7-year old ride, is it possible to put sand in them now it's been there 7 years? We all know Colossus is getting a some TLC next year (about time, long overdue, don't overdo it, will you Thorpe. ) but I for one wouldn't complain if Colossus didn't open until early or mid-April so they can get all the needed work done.I don't know how they'd go about doing it but I really would suggest they try to quieten Colossus down a bit, it's insanely loud now, especially around the cobra roll. Sand filled supports maybe?

Looking at the Bose speakers through their cages, I think they've taken the name off. They're a Bose shape for definate.
-
Now you're talking.
-
Exactly where Detonator is. If you look at some old pictures of Phantom Fantasia, you'll see the street lights are the same ones that are there today.

I hate it when you take something back for a refund, and the member of staff's look on their face just drops, realising they've gotta give money back. It's in our right isn't it, provided we've got the reciept and in it's in re-saleable condition? Human rights, they are still about funnily enough.I still think it's wrong that HMV only do exchanges.

It's reliability has got so bad I see Thorpe have created a permanent parking place for the cherry picker when it's needed. In the past they used to take out the fencing but now it's been smartened up and all they just have to do is open the gates to let the cherry picker in.Rush has the same set up, at the back of it.

Doesn't the alligator make noises too?

There's a young chap called Euan or Ewan working at the park this year, seen him twice so far and is very informative, helpful and polite. Plus he's good for a laugh.Top marks to him.

Unfortunately Stealth's hey-day is now over, as all focus is on Saw. Even if Stealth does "look down" on the rest of the rides, as it's the tallest in the park, our attention is now being diverted to the next newest ride/coaster.

Yeah, that makes everyone jump. I went on it last weekend for my 3rd time, and it was my mate's first. I was determined not to ruin the inside of the station for him, he kept asking me questions what it was like before we got inside and I kept saying, "Just wait and see." Anyway, when it came to the guns I was in stitches at his reaction. Comical.- The Guns in the queue made me jump.
On my first two rides (16th March) the screens weren't working, but last weekend they were. So I dunno if that was because it had just opened or maybe I was just unlucky. I shall be keeping a close on eye this. Oh, and please turn up the volume!- The fact that only the second train gets the puppet talking to them..I think everyone queues the same amount of time so should get the same experience.
That body is the most tackiest part of the theming. Talk about a Friday afternoon job! Also, the countdown clocks in the station and at the bottom of the tower...I get it, yeah - but why? Bit pointless to me.I have to say the body looks much better now that it's lit up. The water seemed to actually get all riders now where as only the middle riders got a trickle on their hair, it seems to be more powerfull too.

Dan, when did you go? This week? And can anyone tell me, is Samurai performing the same as before, now that it's fixed?
-
Overtime for Merlin staff then. That's gonna go down well with some people.

It's getting old, the monster may be dying!

2 things annoy me about Colossus at the moment:A) We keep being told where "a two" can sit and to fill the vacant seats. The height measurer constantly on the 2 gates near the back of the train.Grr.

I agree, the posters are an eyesaw, but the little ads in the queueline about taking the Yorkie challenge are everywhere and not so irritating. With those said, not much else Yorkie related can be seen.

I know what you mean about Saw's bricks everywhere, the landscaping isn't the best around the drop and the queueline. Then again, they were pushed in getting it ready, if I remember, the last bit of paving was only going down about 2 weeks prior to full-season opening.Saw has fantastic theming, its an amazing ride but the landscape REALLY bugs me, how the concrete at the bottom of the supports stands out like a sore thumb, all of the bricks everywhere, it just looks like they left the landscape the same as it was when the track was being built lol. I understand that the "building site themed landscape" is the theme however it just bugs me because it looks messy and bare, hopefully TP will put some plants in soon! Also they should clean the Colossus lift hill, that black oil bugs me! I might clean it myself one day lolOh and Nemesis Infernos track when entering the cave is very dirty! Looks like white power from the smoke effects Apart from that though I personally think TP is the best theme park in the UK and I love it to bits! much better than AT IMO!

Now I'm with it!Unfortunately on Sunday I never got to see it because when I went to queue for it, there was a fault and they weren't letting anyone in the queue.I remember a wall, but no water coming over the top of it.You can see where the waterfall was located in these pictures:© Thorpe Park Mania 2009

You timed it right then, I started queuing for it about 11:15am, and waited just over 2 hours. So I've now walked the whole queueline, which, could be tidied up in places, like the pallets lyring around, and the dry mud in places.I went on SAW yesterday. In my opinion it's Thorpe's 2nd best ride, behing Colossus. I headed for it first and got away with just a 60 minute queue for it. The indoor section of the queue is excellent, the video which comes on is very atmospheric even if standard. There are also loud bangs and lights flashing.
-
I said it'd be back. And it's playing throughout the entire queueline now, not just the station.Just a quick message to say Colossus' Please stand clear announcement and whispers are now back on the ride.
