  1. Once again Theme Park Bloke you are chatting a load of rubbish have you seen the size of Fungle. There is no way you can build a new coaster there, not only that It would be right next to Nemesis Inferno so this would be pointless. Before posting your so called word of mouths or guesses make sure they are sensible otherwise it is wasting other members time reading your posts.I have heard what they plan to place there but I am not allowed to say what it is.

I am talking rubbish? Hmm, let me find the source and show it to you and see what you make of it. And yes, I've seen the size of Fungle. You never know, Thunder Looper may come out of reitrement! If you've heard what they plan to place there, why aren't you allowed to say? Do you work there? Has a Merlin employee told you?

It will most likely be a small flat ride, or even a picnic area.

A picnic area, when we've got the Barbecue grill opposite? That would be an awful move.
  2. Easter is one of the worst times to go to Thorpe Park, I dread to think what Saw's queues will be like.I've just been watching this video which must've been produced before Saw was built, or before the changes were made for its layout:

That looks good, imagine the finished result. I like the way you "emerge" from the station a little way up the tower. Coming out of the station and going up, and not being able to see what's ahead - awesome! Also, do they plan to fill this pit up with water or fake blood or something?Posted Image
  3. If you seriously thought SAW was going to be the world's scariest coaster, then you must have brain damage...

I never thought it was gonna be scary at all. From the minute I saw the artwork (on the "coming 2009" poster ads), and from when the tower was put in place at the end of September last year, I knew it wouldn't be scary - before it was all themed!Whoever Saw scares, they're mad, because it's not scary at all.
  4. Chessie's main entrance track is about 10-12 minutes long. Compared to the original track from the park it was originally used at (in Germany...?), it has added-in bits here and there to fit in with their themes (like the Vampire section of music), making the original one just under 7 minutes.

  5. You are an extremely lucky person! I want a rollback! I was two trains away from one.. :D

    Me too, last September.

Would I be totally wrong if I said I thought Kingda Ka / Top Thrill Dragster had something in its launch track that means its can be rolled back to reset position fairly quickly?

Is Kingda Ka made by Intamin, just like Stealth?

On an intertesting note, did you know there are sensors on the track (half way up and half way down) that monitor the train and can detect if the train has rolled back (by passing the same sensor twice) and in the case of an event where the train (again) gets stuck at the top, the ride PLC is basiclly confused as the train, having passed it's first sensor and not the second has 'lost' the train and so shuts down!

Ha, hilarious! So basically, the PLC shuts down if it gets stuck at the top again? How big and what colour are these sensors?

Cool cool I look forward to one :P

The next windy day we get, I'm off to TP!
  6. 2010/2011 - Treasure Island (including 3 rides)2011/2012 - Fantasy Island/Runaway Train (new ride and play zone)2012/2013 - Haunted House2013/2014 - Bobsleigh Ride (south of dome)2016/2018 - Replacement of X:\ No Way OutGot this information from here.

How likely is it they'll keep to that though!

Anyone know what WILL be replacing fungle safari yet? :P

Shortly after Fungle's removal was announced, word of mouth here suggested that a 2011 coaster will be going in it's old spot.I'm surprised they haven't boarded it up or anything so far. Surely is must be confusing people who walk past and see it closed? There's not even a sign to inform you the ride has closed for good.
  7. Vampire is my favourite aswell at CWOA. Who was the first rider of the 2009 season on Vampire???? - ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:ninja::D:D I am so happy!! :D

Let me guess, the preview day? Is the queueline completely new or does it go the route of the old one, but tidied up? And is the station any different?
  8. Yeah, I've noticed that, and there's a camera on there which doesn't even work, it's been facing in one direction for months now.

What's your opinion? And what would you re-theme if you could?

Sorry, I disagree. I can list a load of other little picky jobs they need to sort out first, jobs which we, the regular visitors, haven't been sorted out in years!

I totally agree - theming is soooo importantHave they re-themed Samurai yet?

No! :ninja: And it won't be.
  9. OK, so about 10 days ago, Loggers, Slammer and Stealth were all closed. Now we all know Stealth's winter maintenance has overrun, but did Slammer's and Loggers Leap's? Has any parts been changed on Slammer? I heard Loggers was having trouble, or was its maintenance not completed on time?

  10. Definately a motor - you can hear the little noise it makes. Next time, listen carefully as the floor lowers, you'll hear a break of noise for a few seconds, and then this sort of beeping noise starts.

  11. Rapids were open, SAW broke down for about 20mins, Rumba had all of its features working apart from the shower.

That thing's definately buggered, it's not worked for ages now! There's some great pics of Saw on Theme UK, don't know if anyone's seen them? Also, slightly off-topic I know, but I couldn't help but notice that Rush's old wheels under Inferno's station have now gone!
  12. Quantum is a beast! I love it. :ninja:

Personally it's a must do everytime I visit Thorpe park

It never used to be for me, but it is now.

And it barely makes it over the top anymore.

If it does, it's only a couple of times at the most.

I do enjoy Quantum when I go on it, but I wouldn't queue over 20 minutes for it.

Me too. And talking of queueing, has anyone spotted the metal height measuring stick that's been stuck up in a tree since last summer? It's in a tree to the left as you stand and look at the steps leading upto the ride. I'll photograph it when I'm next there and post it in this topic.
