    Rita

Call me odd, but when I rode Rita, I enjoyed it. Okay, it isn't the smoothest thing ever, but it's smooth enough that it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the ride. As for the layout, again, not a masterpiece, and it definitely felt as if it lacked something, but it was good. It's by no means great, it's just good.
  2. Oh noes, James could have possibly made a mistake! The world will end!!1!Besides, it's still wrong. Yeah, it's a little thing, but still. If you're going to make a product, may as well make it accurate? Especially with the Vampire thing, especially as they;re celebrating it's 21st birthday this year and making a deal out of it...
  3. Haven't seen the cards or anything yet, but yeah, there's always those little things that annoy you. Take Storm Surge. It's been advertised that it's 64ft / 19m. 64ft isn't 19m though, it's 19.5m I dunno what the inaccuracies are (speeds and heights I'd guess are the obvious ones?) but it would be nice if they could be accurate. Just because it's a game, doesn't mean they can be sloppy on things...

    Video Games.

I never get what all the fuss is to be honest. :unsure:They're never THAT much different. Slightly different plot, more Pokemon, better graphics. But that's it really? Give me Red, Blue or Yellow ANY day!
  5. Terrible internet connection, that's been 'fixed' three times in just over a week...
  6. Personally, education. It depends on what interests you I guess. I totally understand that some people want to get out of education ASAP because of what they like. But for me, I'm more interested in Maths, and the best way for me to explore that is through education. In my eyes though, I think if all you've got is GCSEs (ie - no apprenticeships, for NVQs (or whatever they're called), no A-Levels, no specialist training, etc.), then there's not much left to do unless you're highly talented. But that's just the way I see it I spose...
  7. And Loggers Leap is great with no restraints at all...Doesn't mean Saw would be though...
  8. I'm confident that if Thorpe stick to what we see at the moment, they will deliver some great pieces of theming. Thorpe aren't the greatest when it comes to converting paper into reality (and that's as a whole, not just with theming), but this seems to be the project that could change that. However, there's always a chance that the plans could change. Stealth, with the abolishment of the grandstand queue line. Saw, getting rid off the windmill. As long as that doesn't happen with LC12, and they convert what they're showing on paper to reality, then this will be very impressive!

    X

If X gets the attention it needs and gets a bit of modernizing, then it'd be great! The ride experience would be better and probably would draw in more crowds. However, with Thorpe not infilling in any more land and probably finish 'expanding onto them' in the next 10 or so years, it's days will probably be numbered then, in my eyes. This season will be interesting; new ride practically next to it, should become slightly more popular!

No idea where to ask this, but anyways...Why's the Storm Surge topic locked? Is it because of all the endless talk about the PR just getting boring, or what?
  12. I see why so many people enjoy Fury; it's probably one of the best family rides there is. A nice layout, that has something for everyone, and if spread out nicely and is well paced. But, I seemed to enjoy Spinball more. I dunno why, but I found it slightly more intense and the compact layout to be more enjoyable. That, and the queueing experience was better. Though, having only been on Spinball once, and Fury many a time, it could just be that. And, what with the nature of the ride being different every time, I might have just got rather lucky on Spinball...Thinking about it, Spinball and Fury should probably be in my top 10:1) Nemesis2) Nemesis Inferno3) Rush4) Loggers Leap5) Lorikeet Lagoon6) Rattlesnake7) Air8) Spinball Whizzer / Sonic Spinball9) Dragon's Fury10) CCRThough, the more I think about it, the more I'm not sure. Inferno and Rush, as said, change. Lorikeet Lagoon and Rattlesnake are interchangeable as well I guess. Heck, if Loggers is on a bad day, Rattlesnake / LL would be in my top 4. Air, dunno, can't remember it, but I think the spinner's could probably be higher in the list. CCR just owns everything beneath it. I want to put Depth Charge there too for some reason; think of it as an honorary mention.
  13. I thought that half term was supposed to be a time to be able to relax, regroup and just have a nice week away from college. You know, a break. But thanks to my politics teacher, that's now unlikely. I have an essay to do (which doesn't get graded, mind. But in not doing it, I'd receive another essay - that again, wouldn't get marked - due in on the following day...) which has to be of 4 pages minimum (and even then, we're told 4 pages is 'thin'. Wouldn't be so bad if we'd actually covered the stuff, but we haven't even touched on it. Then there's a presentation that has to be made. Has to be 5 minutes long (again, a minimum and that's considered 'short'), and again, has to be on a - different - topic that we've never covered before. And if we 'fail' that, guess what - an essay to do, due in for the next day! As if that wasn't bad enough, talking to a friend this evening, turns out on Friday more homework was set - including note taking on 2 chapters of the textbook (though, the amount of notes we're expected to take, we may as well be copying the textbook out) and an essay exam question to do. And, if they're not done, hey presto, an essay due in for the next day!I don't mind having homework to do over the half term / breaks, but there comes a point when there's just too much...
  14. You just had to choose two of the most attractive photos of me, didn't you?

    Logger's Leap

There were times last season when I heard it was acceptable to leave ORPs on the platform. To be honest, you don't get THAT wet on Loggers Leap. As long as you have a bag and a coat / shirt to put it under, you're stuff is usually fine.

    Football

It always amazes me when people say that others must be rubbish after they have a couple of blips...
  17. Wow. That just sounds phenomenal. Looking forward to the end product even more now! Also, it would appear that Gardaland know that B&M are Swiss, which is all the better...
  18. No matter how much I dislike all those listed acts, well done Alton! The public will lap this, and those tickets will sell like hot cakes. And that price is pretty good too - £55 for entry to the park, parking and seeing those highly favourable acts? Can't see many people complaining about that cost!
  19. 1) Nemesis. Doesn't need much explaining really, brilliant theme, amazing location and an awesome ride.2) Nemesis Inferno. 3) RushSecond and third place is really close. If I get a long, really good cycle on Rush, then it can sometimes take second, but Inferno is pretty great. Smooth, nice audio, nice theming, adequate amounts of force (vertical loop for example). Rush, on the other hand, is an incredible experience. It just fits nicely in the park, and the freedom in your seats is incredible. So a kinda tie I spose. 4) Loggers Leap. Just got to love the audio; the queue just goes by even if it is a dreaded cattlepen. The theming is somewhat original and quite nice. For a British water ride as well, it is perfect - no too wet, but you get wet enough. Perfect for everyone. 5) Lorikeet Lagoon. I don't care that it's not a ride, but this is one of the most epic attractions ever. End of.6) Rattlesnake. I just love this ride. The quirky theme to it, the ride experience, etc. You can just have a great laugh on it.7) Air. Another smooth B&M that's just perfect. Not sure from there really.
  20. Sweet!Thank you very much

    Random

Got back from an amazing 2 days at Cambridge Uni - made me want to go there much much more now!Had an engineering student showing me around, taking me to a 2nd year lecture (which was all about signals and stuff; not the most exciting stuff...) and got to go to a Maths lecture, which was pretty cool but 'intense' to say the least...So yeah, happy now. :DEdit: Oh, and seeing Ralph Fiennes filming for some BBC Drama at the college I was staying at was pretty nice as well, shame I wasn't able to get an autograph or anything
  22. I don't disagree, but I see the OTSRs as a way of being 'trapped in a mechanical device'. Lap bars would add the sense of danger, but in a different sense I'd say..
  23. I think having lap bars would make the ride feel less imposing; the OTSRs make you feel more 'trapped' for example.Though I wouldn't mind a holding break!
  24. The colours are a bit more 'army like' than I was expecting, but still, looks very good!
