  1. The reason is because they don't want to really employ workers who are under the legal limited of literally 'unlimited hours', as full time at TP would be about 60 hours a week, an under 18 can only work 40.
  2. Yup, identical product to TP's.

Yes because sourcing a large part which weighs in over 2 tonnes can be sourced, installed and tested overnight.Do you realise what you sound like?

The PLC wasn't working properly and it was only waiting for an electrician to fix it.A car was outside just before the lift as it was moved there from it's normal position where it is left in the evening (one car left in the middle of the station) and all of the rest of the cars are taken off in the evening onto the transfer track, hence why they were still there when you saw them Dan.
  5. Just to reiterate Marc's point

Right, so you'd think they'd start their morning checks earlier instead of leaving a lot of disappointed waiting guests?!
  7. Can't be bothered as it's Thorpe.Sorry.

Queueline is in near perfect condition, same as control box, it's literally untouched apart from no ride.
  9. I should be around mid-late afternoon hopefully, just as it's my only day off this week.
  10. The park will be closed today, just for everyones info if you were intending on visiting.

What the hell THAT MUCH JACK?!Take me out to lunch. For the fail you gave me in the rotunda.
  12. The thing is with SRQ is that it just changes a number on a piece of paper - it doesn't make the main queue go down, it doesn't mean people will wait less time in their groups, and from TP's perspective, it's kind of something that isn't really needed, as compared to batching for example which should be happening, to ensure that if there is a 2 at the front of the queue, that there is another 2 in behind them so every seat is filled, instead of having 2 3/4 filled cars.If that makes sense.
  13. Thorpe Waterski is owned by JB Waterski but rent all of the land off of Merlin.
  14. Really good to hear you had such a great day today James, hopefully more people will read the comments and visit Chessie a lot more often. As ever, if you have any positive comments you'd like to put forward to them - guest.services@chessington.co.uk will be the place to send them
  15. It really doesn't faze staff, trust me it pisses staff right off when you say that.

    Suprise!
  17. Just to elaborate further - Skyway has since had a large Diesel Generator installed for future need, to evacuate Skyway in the event of a powercut. And TPB, the rides are e-stopped first before being evacuated, so the power to the rides is totally cut.Hence why no one has ever died when being evacuated off a Merlin ride.
  18. Rides have to be fully reset (blocks have to be released on Rattle, Fury has to have each drive resetted individually for example) before they can move again.Any link to the Rattle photo?
  19. Beanoland is open for guests entering via South Car Park from 9.30am until 10am, rest of the park except Beano, LoTD and Mystic East is opened up for ERT as well for the hotel guests.
  20. Yes, it was the second powercut in the past week. Silverglade (NOT Barwell Business Park as this houses Sega and a college), which is further down the road past Chessie holds all of the server for the parks resources I.e email etc, and the power was cut to this as well. Vampire was easily evacuated at rides staff can simply go up there and evacuate them, so it was quick and easy.Slyway was the only problem on both days, with Whizzer being slightly awkward on Saturday. And yes, Falls is having intermittent problems.

The setting is changed in line with guest numbers - 3-4 top swings will happen when the park is busy and quiet, and in quiet times it will be longer settings.
  23. Well that would be because you made effort to talk to people and make cool music theme remixes
  24. Just to say how incredibly well the staff at Chessington have coped this week with the problems they've had that are obviously not their fault, EVERYONE has worked SO hard in these two days of power outages, everyone has kept calm when dealing with evacuations, guests and other problems they've encountered, and if you're CWoA staff and reading this, well done because you the team has pulled together so well.
  25. Only rides that can cause problems is Skyway, Whizzer, and Runaway Train. All of the other rides can be evacuated by Ride Staff.
