  1. Sorry my review is taking so long (doing a really indepth one), been at work quite a lot this week. Ill hopefully have it up soon
  2. Got my review of the attraction in progress. One word to sum it up Amazing!!!
  3. Good to know. Ill keep a look out on what happens when I'm there.
  4. Ill be heading down to the opening on Wednesday. Ill try and take some pictures and post a review
  5. I'm just wondering what other impacts will be caused if the ride stays closed for the rest of the season, will the sanctuary open, and if it does will all the smiler paraphanaliea be removed? Will it affec the opening of the Shrek attraction? (I know its a few months away and isnt roller coaster based, but the fact its linked to merlin, could it be affected?)
  6. From what I can remember there are already some kind of shock absorbing buffers on the back of the cars (I believe that is what they are, please correct me if I am wrong) but its suprising they wouldnt have any around the front, seems it is just a metal rail and a metal logo protecting the first row.
  7. I have to say, Ive just watched that interview and I feel throughly sorry for Mr Varney having to interview with her. Every time he tried to explain something she cut him off and made it impossible for him to acutally explain everything that is going on and why things are being put in place. He handled that extremely well.
  8. That was used on the ceiling, just before crawling through the tunnels, where the grim reaper chose your path.
  9. I think at the end of the day, the only reason Alton is working in such a spiradic way is all down to costs. Most people use the BOGOF vouchers when they get the tickets at the park, meaning for each person your paying around £25. That £25 gets split up into a whole range of pots - New Rides - Staff Costs - General Bills (Electricity, etc.) - General Park Up-Keep - Profit The most important one to them generally is profit, as it is with most businesses. The longer the park is open, the less money they make in profit, because they are having to fork out an extra 1 or 2 hours on staff costs, and then electricity and a whole variety of other costs. If they scrapped the BOGOF vouchers and brought the ticket costs down to say £30 each, they would end up making an extra £10 give or take for every 2 guests. In this day and age with inflation going up and somewhere down the line minimum wage will go up, and we will see even more cuts. Itll either be even shorter days, or the cost to get into the park will keep rising, to a point where no one will want to pay to go in.
  10. So there is, didnt look at the original, the arrow on this one is covering the stairs, my bad.
  11. I'm just wondering what the whole pre ride area could be, more what it is than what will happen in there. Sounds confusing, but if we follow the path to get around the building there are stairs when you exit the ride into the shop. There arent on the other hand stairs when you come in. Now presuming the load and unload is all on the same level, some form of getting you up to the 2nd level will need to happen at the beginning - I propse that the pre ride area could be an elevator of some sort.
  12. Just had a thought, the whole park is a mess as it is in terms of themes next to each other, but wont it look incredibly odd a victorian warehouse next to a jungle and sling shot birds....just saying.
  13. I know we've got the vibe its gonna be victorian, and with the "white chapel" thing as well, makes it seem a bit like jack the ripper. I dont know though if doctor who has been kinda swept under the carpet, but does he not have friends in the victorian era? Madame Vastra, Strax, etc. The perfume bottle would fit quite well with Vastra, plus he did go looking for jack the ripper in the last season. Turned out to be clockwork droids, but none the less that all worked. Also with the WC16, could it not stand for Worlds Collide 2016?
  14. I just put 2 and 2 together, with all the fire hydrants and the amity fire department car at the front of the queue. I knew someone built the ride to drain all the water away from the tidal waves, and the amity fire department fits the bill for what I understand to be the theme.
  15. The story is supposed to be that after all the huge tidal waves hit amity, they tried and couldnt get rid of all the water, so the amity fire department, created this to contain all the water. Thats to story for it, it was just never executed well enough to convey that story
  16. I think how ever much we hope they will improve that inside section and make the ride actually have some sense/finish the story they had begun, we have to remember with The Sanctury in the main story, the MOJ shut it down because the treatments they prescribbed were just to sadistic and they thought Kelman didnt know what he was doing, Kelman just kept it open without their knowledge and carried on his twisted experiments.Majority of the poster in The Santury are all based on seeing a doctor, there are a few on getting marmalised they could use. Hopefully at some point theyll bring everyting together so then the story carries through with all that social media they did, the sanctury, the ride, and possibly any other rides they link to it in the future, other wise its just a waste of time them even trying to create the story in the first place.
  17. Thats true, but then their next investment shouldve been something of their own again and not relying on IPs. Theyve proved theyve got a creative team, who can create full immursive stories, by why do they have to just keep that for the thrill seeking market? Why not create their own stories for the younger market as well? Because I'm pretty sure their probably capable of doing so.
  18. I think the one thing which has got to me about both thorpe park and alton towers is the fact that they have to rely on IPs to bring people in. In reality they shouldnt have to do that. They should be able to come up with stories and brands that bring people in and not have to rely on already made stories/brands created by other companies. I do have to say from the pictures ive seen, I do like the way it has been displayed, same with cbeebies land at alton towers. But the theme parks shouldnt have got to the point where theyve got to rely on other brands. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
  19. Just a quick question as Ive never been before. What food places/shops are open on zoo days if any. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
  20. There are 3 rides that I have always wanted to see at Chessington: 1) A rapids ride 2) A family-launched coaster 3) A Topple Towers (improved version - see Timber Terror at Dollywood) The Glade which is the area behind the Wild Asia and between Mystic East. I could see a Rapids Ride and a family-launched coaster like Cheetah Hunt (which is amazing) on the area. This 2-in-1 project could work like Alton Tower's Rapids - Runaway Mine Train. I know I shouldnt really compare chessington to disney (seems that their in a completely different ball park) but the coaster could be themed to Everest or mountains or have the Yeti in there somewhere. It would work well with that area, same as disney. I kmow there would probably be a problem with height, but there are many ways to trick us into believing things are bigger/smaller than they really are. I know its probably a bit far fetched but it would be great, and the area it already suited to the theme so they would only need to add to it. A rapids ride could easily be mixed in as well, again like the one in animal kingdom, maybe a forest scene, have animals around the place (animatonics) and then go into deforestation or something maybe travel through the mountain a bit and have the yeti roar in the background. I dunno how it could be played out but it could work really well with the mountain and forest and stuff. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
  21. I think I definately went through completely different mazes to everyone else. Especially with all the good feedback thwir getting. I hated all of the film based ones. They did absolutely nothing for me at all. Asylum for me was the only decent one, where I felt scared. The rest were just pathetic in my opinion. Ill write a review up in the spoilers topic of my experience in all the mazes and attractions, I have to say though it probably will be quite long and will more of a rant because I was so disappointed. 23. I know weve not even had this year yet, but there is a promising look for this year maybe next year somewhat. 2 representatives from Thorpe attended this event. Ive watched the whole thing, and its really good. So possibly a ghost maze next year, or got ideas on how to do blair witch or maybe something to do with the theatre? Who knows but itll could be really promising https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIAE3ImjyDA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
